For minutes, nothing too major or dangerous happened. The crew tried hiding and sneaking past the pack of virus lifeforms that lurk around the city area to prevent more fights and lose lots of stamina. Though its not long until they get spotted by a pack. The crew is halfway to the stadium, and while sneaking past a pack, the alpha of the pack heard the propeller of Covie. The alpha screeched at the crew that is behind a bench.
"wats....h-h-h-h....e...lp....r....un.. " the alpha roared.
The other virus lifeforms started looking at the crew and hissed while slowly approaching them.
The crew had no choice but to fight. Johnson, as usual, vanished immediately and ambushed the virus lifeforms from behind.
Mysty ran around the battle field and distracted the lifeforms with the little damage of her twin pistols in order to let Albur attack the virus lifeforms while they are distracted. One virus lifeform leaped towards Albur, Albur blocked its attacks by bracing his rifle between them. This time, the rifle did not slip off his hands, Albur then used Disabling Shot on the lifeform and stunt it , then kicked it off before finishing it with Virus Corruption.
Rhea fought the alpha virus lifeform, it kept leaping towards Rhea but she parried every attack and threw it at the other lifeforms. Covie grabbed a couple of virus lifeforms and brought them high up to the sky before throwing them down onto the ground, making them fall to death.
The rest of the pack got afraid, one of them bit onto the badly injured alpha and fled.
"Don't even think about getting away!"
Albur activated slot 2, he then charged the attack, the rifle was covered in lime green lightning and is shaking violently.
"HYPER BLAST!"
Albur fired an extremely fast green bullet, the bullet hit the fleeing pack and caused a huge explosion that killed many of the pack. Leaving only one badly injured one that limped away.
"Son of a...."
Johnson reloaded his minigun and attempted to chase that virus lifeform, but Rhea stopped him.
"Just let it leave, it won't survive long, predators will surely get to it."
Albur's rifle was badly overheated, glowing bright red and emitting sizzle sounds.
"No one is injured right?"
"Yeah."
Rhea stared at the alpha Virus lifeform's dead body, she slowly walked towards it and kneeled down before it and took a closer look.
"What are you doing?"
Rhea didn't respond. She just stares at the body.
"This might come in handy."
Rhea then took out her turned-keychain giant battle bot and enlarged it. She look into the body and took out the coffin like object she once used to hold the crew when she kidnap them.
"Hey female, speak. "
"I'm wondering if the organization need this alpha lifeform's dead body. Since its different from the normies, it might come in handy to further researches."
"Why would it help?"
"These purple things mustn't only have 2 variants. There must be more. It will help with the research, just, not sure when will the portal open again."
Rhea then stuffed the alpha virus lifeform's body into a coffin.
"You sure it won't smell?"
"I don't care."
The crew continued the walk. On the way, they found the previous virus lifeform that escaped. Dead, lying on the ground, other virus lifeforms are feasting on its flesh.
Eventually, the crew arrived at the stadium. It is the biggest stadium in Xectar City that held many sports competitions. In front of the stadium, a giant chunk of a building is blocking the entrance. Covie flied over to it and lifted it up. But while she's moving it Rhea directly walked to her and grabbed that chunk of building like it was nothing.
"Weak."
"Hey....that's rude."
Rhea threw the chunk of building away. The crew walked into the stadium. There, they saw numerous oval purple humps on the central field, each glowing a faint purple light time to time.
"What are these?"
The crew walked to one of the humps and looked at it. Rhea walked to one of the humps, and scanned it.
"There are signs of life in it." muttered Rhea.
Johnson used his robot claws and sliced the hump in front of them in half, it slowly melted and flatten. Purple liquid leaked out of it, and a chunk of the land of the field is in there.
"Weird...."
"What are you doing?"
"If it have signs of life, it must be hatching a virus lifeform. Are we gonna take on a whole pack of virus lifeforms again?"
"Well, Mr. Genius here is gonna destroy all of the humps here rather than getting out of here quickly after we destroy the core."
"Then, I will be here clearing these, you guys go destroy the core."
"Are you sure, John? I don't think we should split up in this place."
"Yeah, we should stay together. "
Johnson looked at the humps. And silently lowered his minigun.
"Fine, let's make it snappy."
The crew followed Rhea and they reached the team locker room of the stadium, even more humps are in there, some are sticking on the wall and some are in the lockers.
"This place looks like a nest."
"I had seen all kinds of abomination nests, but not this kind."
The energy detector is beeping very rapidly, meaning the core is near them.
Albur walked to the toilet of the locker room, trying to see if there is anything else to see. The toilet is also crawled with fibrous purple substances and humps, and strangely, there is a hole in the middle of the toilet floor. Albur wanted to take a closer look, but then, he tripped, and fell into the hole.
The crew heard him fell. They quickly rushed to the toilet.
"Albur? Albur?"
"...over here.....!"
The crew noticed the hole at the toilet, they looked down, and found Albur lying on the ground, next to him is a tight shaft with an extremely steep slope.
"Bucko, you alright?"
"Yeah...kinda I guess....."
Rhea looked at the area, and was confused.
"Why does a stadium have this underground structure?"
Johnson looked around too, the wall doesn't seem to be made out of the materials commonly used for buildings.
Covie flew down and healed Albur's injured back. Suddenly, the energy detector's antenna pointed at the wall next to Albur and the beeps turned into a high pitched continuous tone noise.
"The core is here....."
Rhea jumped into the hole and landed near Albur. She stared at the wall. The rest of the crew jumped down as well. Albur stood back up.
"Huh, the first core that easily found."
"I hope we can say the same with the rest of the core."
Rhea pressed her ears against the wall, and knocked it a few times. Then, she started breaking the wall by slowly landing her fists on it.
"Hey, y'all don't just stand there, come help."
Johnson rolled his eyes and walked towards the wall and thrusted his claws into it before pulling out a huge chunk of it. Covie flew to help breaking the wall. Mysty looked around to ensure no virus lifeforms are nearby. Albur reloaded the rifle and want to go help as well.
"Hey!"
Suddenly, a muffled distant shout echoed. Albur heard it, he looked towards the direction of the voice. Then, the voice shouted again, its coming from the shaft with a slope. Albur walked towards the shaft, and leaned even closer.
"Hello! Is someone there?!"
Albur heard a man's voice from the shaft.
"Uh, guys? You hear that?"
"What's wrong? "
Mysty walked towards Albur.
The three bots turned their heads to the shaft. Albur took a step into the shaft.
"Hello!?"
Albur yelled at the shaft. But there is nothing but silence.
"Is there anyone there?!"
The voice replied. Albur heard that very clearly.
"Guys, that's not a virus lifeform is it?"
The crew went silent.
"I think its a survivor." Said Mysty.
