They had already settled on Earth as their target. Karl had to find a way to make thorough preparations before the attack began.
"Good! Since these so-called heroes want to trample all over us, we have no choice but to fight back!"
"Compared to those so-called Five Great Gods, these heroes are hardly worth mentioning! And even if those gods have the power to create entirely new spacetime, so what?"
"At worst, we'll drag them down with us! We are irreplaceable!"
As they spoke, everything around them began to change.
Karl looked toward Tothwanwell and saw Dotilt standing beside him.
Dotilt took out a black case. Wind and lightning seemed to swirl across its surface.
Karl watched as Dotilt took a seal from inside his robes and placed it in the center of the case.
The case suddenly opened.
A rack slowly rose from inside it.
Numerous bottles and containers were arranged across the rack. They seemed to contain the blood of various individuals.
Karl could only make out the general details as he silently observed everything around him.
Then he caught the faint scent of blood in the air.
"These are blood samples from all of Earth's superheroes! Once we learn how to reproduce the combat abilities they possess, we'll be able to possess those abilities as well!"
"With evolutionary genes as powerful as ours, acquiring those powers is only a matter of time!"
Karl had never expected them to possess DNA samples from all those superheroes.
"What the hell is this?"
Karl sucked in a sharp breath.
They hadn't merely collected the blood of a few powerful individuals.
Captain America, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Superman, Kamen Rider...
All of them could be replicated!
If the Skrulls were willing to go even further, they could potentially replicate Thanos as well.
Karl stared at the blood samples neatly arranged inside the case.
"To defeat them, we'll use their own power against them!"
"Our ability to evolve cannot be wasted! Everything will ultimately lead us to one result—the power of gods! With that power protecting us, nothing will be able to stop us!"
Hearing this, Karl felt as though something had changed within every soldier present, right down to their very souls.
If they really could transform so perfectly, then once they reached Earth, nobody would be able to detect them.
Karl had already remained inside the palace for far too long.
Afraid that they might eventually detect his scent, he hurriedly left.
Meanwhile, Tothwanwell began ordering his people to inject those DNA samples into their bodies.
Through prolonged study and adaptation, their bodies would gradually evolve closer and closer to perfection.
Only then would they launch their true offensive.
By replacing Earth's strongest individuals, they could establish an unbeatable position on the planet.
"Damn it. How am I supposed to stop this? There's no way I can do it alone!"
Karl thought carefully.
If the Skrulls could create an entire replicated superhero team of their own, then expecting him to stop all of them single-handedly was completely unrealistic.
If their learning ability and evolutionary genes were truly that powerful, then eventually everyone on Earth could have a perfect Skrull duplicate.
At that point, no one would be able to tell the originals from the impostors.
Karl had to expose their plan before that happened!
"Who's there?"
Tothwanwell sniffed forcefully.
He had caught an unfamiliar scent.
Everyone immediately became alert and opened a path.
Tothwanwell slowly descended from his throne.
He sniffed the air again.
However, the scent was dispersing extremely quickly.
Within moments, it had disappeared completely.
"Reinforce security at the entrance! Bring over the infrared detection equipment!"
They had no choice but to prepare themselves against superheroes capable of turning invisible.
For precisely that reason, they had specially developed infrared detection equipment.
Once someone approached, even if they somehow reduced themselves to something as intangible as air, the equipment could still scan and detect them.
Fortunately, Karl had escaped quickly enough.
Otherwise, they really would have caught him on the spot.
Just when Karl thought he had escaped their encirclement and was preparing to teleport away, he suddenly saw Tothwanwell standing directly in front of him.
Tothwanwell wore a black cloak trimmed with red along its edges.
"So it really is a human..."
Karl rolled his shoulders.
After that enormous battle from earlier, he was already thoroughly exhausted.
Now that he had been caught, there was no point pretending he could simply run away.
He would have to deal with the situation in front of him.
"Sorry about that. There was a lot of commotion earlier, and I got lost. Then I suddenly saw somewhere that looked familiar, so I thought I'd come over and take a look!"
After speaking, Karl casually waved at him, hoping his ridiculous excuse might somehow get him through.
But Karl knew perfectly well that such a lie was unlikely to fool someone this powerful.
Tothwanwell understood that Karl must have heard the plans they had just discussed.
"Not bad at all. You stayed inside that palace for so long before I finally managed to smell you. That proves you're no ordinary person."
Karl knew how intelligent the Skrulls were.
There was naturally no chance that his hastily invented excuse would fool them.
"Don't worry. I really was only passing through. I definitely won't tell anyone a single word about any of your plans."
Tothwanwell reacted immediately.
He moved directly in front of Karl and blocked his path.
Then his long tail whipped around Karl's legs and tightly constricted them.
For a moment, Karl couldn't move at all.
That strength really was astonishing!
Karl felt as though the bones in his legs were about to be crushed.
Since that was the case, Tothwanwell couldn't blame him for using something stronger.
Karl activated Frost Magic.
His legs instantly became bitterly cold, and freezing power surged against the tail wrapped around them.
Three seconds later—
Karl violently broke free and threw the tail aside!
A layer of skin had been torn away from Tothwanwell's tail.
He really was powerful!
Tothwanwell stared at the young human before him.
If he allowed Karl to leave alive, their entire plan would inevitably become known to everyone.
By then, launching their invasion would be far more difficult.
Naturally, Karl knew exactly what Tothwanwell was thinking.
That meant he had to break out of the encirclement as quickly as possible.
But at that moment, countless Skrulls surged forward and surrounded the area in layer after layer.
The black scales covering their bodies gleamed beneath the light.
Karl slowly rose into the air.
Then he suddenly noticed something above his head.
It resembled an enormous red electrical net.
Several Skrulls activated their weapons.
Karl had never expected their technology to be this advanced!
If he touched that thing, it might tear his entire body apart.
"If you know what's good for you, get down here!"
"Stop embarrassing yourself!"
"You think those third-rate tricks of yours are enough to escape from us?"
"Every one of these weapons was carefully developed specifically to deal with people like you!"
"If you dare stand in the way of us reclaiming Earth, there's only one road left for you—death!"
"Why waste time talking to him?"
"Just take him down!"
