Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Principles Are Meant to Be Broken

After eating his fill, Luffy, with his large belly, lay contentedly on the chair, his face full of happiness.

He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten so much.

This was life!

Seeing this, Kyle showed a faint smile at the corner of his mouth.

Now that Luffy was full, he could begin his own plan.

Luffy at this age didn't have many complicated thoughts. Whoever treated him well, he would consider good. It was the easiest time to influence his thinking.

"Hey. Luffy."

"Hmm."

Luffy curiously turned his gaze over.

He saw Kyle wearing a smile like someone coaxing a child, and he spoke.

"By the way, do you want to eat this delicious roasted meat every day? And not just roasted meat, but all sorts of other delicious food."

"You can see the specifics by looking at those windows."

Kyle pointed to the various windows of the cafeteria. Following Kyle's gaze, Luffy saw all kinds of food, including desserts, drinks, and snacks.

Seeing these things, Luffy's eyes went wide. Even though he was full, drool started flowing again, and his eyes were full of desire.

He nodded repeatedly and spoke.

"I do. I really, really do."

"Then the problem is simple. As long as you join the Navy, you can eat as much as you want. The key is, it's free. You don't have to spend a single Beli."

"How about it? Are you tempted?"

A faint smile hung on Kyle's lips.

Based on his understanding of Luffy, before being influenced by Red Hair, using food to lure Luffy was a sure thing, a hundred percent no problem.

The facts were indeed so. He saw Luffy nodding furiously.

He bent his legs, jumped directly onto the table, and shouted loudly.

"I want to join the Navy. I want to eat meat every day, eat delicious food."

With that loud shout, instantly the gazes of countless Marines all turned over. They were stunned for a moment, and the next second bursts of laughter erupted.

But they did not mock Luffy for overestimating himself. Instead, they laughed and spoke loudly.

"Which family's kid are you? You're pretty good, much better than my little brat. I like your spirit. You can definitely become a Marine, hahaha."

"The Navy needs spirited kids like you. Your determination is good, but you're probably still too young to become a Marine."

"Hang in there. Strive to become an excellent Marine in the future."

...

Words of encouragement and support came from the mouths of these Marines.

If Luffy had said these words among pirates, what would have greeted him would definitely have been.

"Kid, do you even know what it means to aim high? You want to become a pirate? Go home and sleep. Pirates aren't something a kid like you can be."

"Little brat like you, do you even know what a pirate is? You'd probably wet your pants just holding a knife."

Words like that.

A classic case would be triggering Luffy's rebellious nature, and then to prove himself, he would directly shout a line.

"I will definitely become a pirate, and I will become the Pirate King."

Good. With that, these pirates' goal would be achieved, recruiting another potential pirate seed.

But since Kyle was here today, he could only say that none of that would appear in the future, at least not for Luffy.

As for Luffy, after receiving everyone's encouragement and acknowledgment, a strange emotion sprouted in his heart.

For Luffy at this age, receiving praise and affirmation from others was the best motivation.

Or perhaps it should be said that children of this age are almost all like this. They feel happy and pleased because of the affirmation of others or their parents.

Because they don't have many complicated thoughts. Getting affirmation means to them that what they are doing is right, giving them great psychological satisfaction.

Kyle's smile became even more brilliant.

Just as he expected, five year old Luffy was still too easy to persuade.

Oh, no.

How could this be called persuading.

He was guiding Luffy onto the correct path.

Isn't being a Marine good. Why must he become a pirate, fighting and killing, being chased around every day.

But even though Luffy agreed to join the Navy, Kyle did not hear the system's prompt for a successful recruitment.

He estimated that it probably required Luffy to truly join the Navy, not just say it verbally.

This was also simple. He could find time tomorrow to go through the procedures.

Looking at Luffy, who was still standing on the table chatting with the many Marines, Kyle smiled slightly.

It seemed life wouldn't be boring in the future.

Time quickly arrived at the next day.

Kyle didn't have the habit of dragging things out. After breakfast, he took Luffy to the Navy recruitment office.

"The two of you want to join the Navy."

Inside the recruitment office, a middle aged man with the rank of Warrant Officer looked at the two little ones below and asked with a bit of a headache.

"Yes. What about it."

Kyle asked in return.

Dawson's head hurt a little. What do you mean, what about it.

One of you is six, the other is five. Which family's kids come to be Marines so early.

If it were other kids saying this here, he would have thrown them out directly.

But these two in front of him, he couldn't.

After a moment of silence, Dawson carefully chose his words.

"In principle, the Navy does not recruit child soldiers."

Dawson said this actually to dissuade these children, but Kyle acted as if he didn't understand his meaning and spoke in a calm voice.

"You said it's in principle. Principles can occasionally be broken. This isn't some major issue."

"This."

Dawson was still a bit hesitant.

Seeing this situation, Kyle's expression didn't change, and he spoke calmly.

"Our joining the Navy was agreed to by Vice Admiral Garp. Since you don't agree, Uncle, then we have no choice. We can only tell Vice Admiral Garp the truth."

After saying that, Kyle pretended to turn and leave.

"Wait."

Dawson's voice sounded.

"You mean, letting you two join the Navy is Vice Admiral Garp's intention."

"Yes."

Kyle nodded without any pressure.

"Ahahaha."

"You should have said so earlier. Why didn't you say so earlier? If you had said it earlier, things would have been simple."

"Since it's Vice Admiral Garp's order, of course we must carry it out."

"I'll process the procedures for you two right now."

Not long after, Dawson walked back, holding a stack of uniforms in his hands.

Since Garp's name had been brought out, things naturally became simple.

At the same time, a system prompt sounded in Kyle's mind.

[Congratulations, host, for successfully recruiting Monkey D. Luffy. Rewards have been issued to the system space. The host can check at any time.]

Kyle's eyes shot out a sharp light.

Thinking of those rewards, Kyle felt a surge of excitement in his heart. The joy on his face unconsciously overflowed.

Six years. He had finally weathered through.

This colorful world, he finally had the potential to leave a heavy mark in it.

Although potential didn't equal strength, for Kyle, that was only a matter of time.

With the system, he had ample confidence in himself.

Without the system, he might have lived quietly and peacefully, just getting through life.

But with the system, and still holding back. What a joke.

Dawson came before the two of them, separated the Navy uniforms in his hands, two sets each, and handed them over to Kyle and Luffy.
