Chapter 5 - Genesis Records

Elena was not just my assistant. From the very beginning, I had great plans for her. I had conceived the idea of creating a system inspired by the novels I used to read—a system that would help my inhabitants grow stronger and develop as a race.

Otherwise, I would have to wait far too long.

The problem was that such a system went far beyond my own limitations, and implementing it would require paying a price.

If I were the one to pay that cost, then every time someone used it, I would have to sacrifice a portion of my fortune and destiny. If it were only a single individual, that might be reasonable. But my inhabitants would grow stronger over time and continue to reproduce. The cost would become enormous and bring disastrous consequences for me.

Therefore, they would be the ones to pay the price.

The system I created is called the Genesis Records. It would help them grow and strengthen themselves at a much faster rate. In exchange, before every ascension, they would face a lightning tribulation. If they succeeded, they would ascend. If they failed, their fate would be death.

This was something only they would experience; nothing like it existed anywhere else in the universe. However, there is a saying: within danger lies opportunity. If they learned how to properly use the Genesis Records, the risk would be worth it.

To be honest, much of this was driven by my own selfishness. I did not want to wait millennia for them to develop as a civilization, and due to the limitations of being a planet, I could not intervene directly in their lives. The Genesis Records were an indirect way to accelerate their growth and guide them toward my own objectives.

Moreover, there was no turning back anymore.

They were now part of the rules of this planet, and they would have to adapt.

It was also a way to deepen their dependence on me. After passing a tribulation, they would be able to recover all the destiny and fortune they had expended.

The tribulation itself would strengthen their bodies and improve their affinity with origin energy. In turn, this would make them less compatible with other forms of energy should they ever wish to leave me. In the universe, it is not uncommon for individuals to change the type of energy they cultivate for various reasons. It is difficult—but not impossible.

Each tribulation would push them farther away from that possibility.

Genesis: "Elena, begin the implementation of the Genesis Records."
