Andriana arrived at the tallest building in the city, stopped at the entrance took a deep breath and walked in.
She had rehearsed what to say at the reception on her way, but when she got to it, the lady smiled at her and said.
"Welcome Miss Davison, please follow the man in the suit and he will get you to Mr Lockhart "
Andriana froze, then stepped back, glancing back at the man they had pointed at.
He led her to the elevator and didn't say a word until they got to his office.
His assistant took over leading her inside the office.
"He will be here shortly , what can I get you ?" She politely asked.
"A glass of water, thank you ", she said .
When it was delivered, she asked, "May I ask if he will be long ?"
"He won't, he's on his way back ", she answered. They left
Andriana sat in the empty office in silence as she sipped on the water. She wondered what she was going to tell him if they met face to face again. But with her friend missing she didn't care.
The door opened again, and there he was still attractively handsome, dressed in a grey suit with his bangs down parted in the middle. His eyes met hers, and she got up, gulping.
"We meet again ", he said as he walked up to her.
She gulped, inching back, "Where is she?"
He scoffed taking a seat.
"I know she came here, so where is she ?" She glared down at him.
"If you mean Miss Greenwood, she left a while ago ", he answered.
"Stop lying, I know you did something to her, it's been three hours since she went missing, and this was the last place she came to ", she breathed.
"And ...that doesn't me I did anything to her ".
"Yes, you did ...it was me who got on your bad side, so why are you harming others. She had nothing to do with it " she raised her voice.
"You really must think I'm some criminal . First, you call me a kidnapper when I was really just helping, then when I send flowers to apologise, you call me a stalker ".
"But ..."
"And what do you have to show I have anything to do with your friend going missing ?" .
"You said I would face consequences for my actions if I refused your invitation...and when I did, she went missing after coming here ", she stated.
"She did come here but left soon after talking to me . I didn't do anything to her ".
"I can't trust the words of a crazy person " she murmured.
Karlye scoffed.
Andriana's phone rang, it was Samantha.
"Sam, did ..." she was cut off.
"She is back, it seems her phone battery is dead and she was meeting a client outside the office "
"Oh ...okay. " I'm glad she is fine," she glared at Karlye.
"Have you arrived at the company , I don't think you need to go there. I guess we were wrong," said Samantha.
"Okay, I understand. I will call you later, I have to go," she gulped.
Karlye looked back at her.
"That sounded like she is safe, so I guess that proves I'm innocent ", he let out.
Andriana turned to him.
"I am sorry for accusing you rashly " she let out.
He sighed.
"It's alright, we all make mistakes " he said.
She grabbed her bag" Then I won't waste your time anymore . I will leave now ", she rushed to the door.
Karlye is chuckling, watching her get to the door. Andriana frowned when it didn't open.
"Huh...it's not opening ", looking back, she said to him "I think the door is locked ".
"I know ", he got up slowly, striding to where she was.
Andriana leaned back looking up at him.
"What do you mean you know ?" She gulped.
He was closer now , the gap between them was getting smaller.
"I can't just let you go like that ....you called me a kidnapper, stalker and mental case, I mean I have a right to get angry too "
His gaze was calm but his eyes held something cold that sent chills down her spine.
"I thought you accepted my apology " she looked away as he bent down to her face.
"Did I ?... I don't remember saying anything about forgiving you " he smirked.
The intoxicating smell of his cologne wafted around her with each movement he made.
"What exactly do you want from me ?" she was glaring now.
He didn't break the gaze as he answered.
"You ".
"Huh?".
"I want you " he answered.
