Chapter 5 - Tale #5: The World And Plans

The name of this world that i reside in is Verden. This is your typical fantasy world with Sword and magic. Unlike earth, where the ruling race were humans and they were the one and only intelligent race, In this world Several Intelligent races exist.

But even among Those races, Six "Great Races" stand as the pillars of civilization, each possessing their own sovereign nations and structured societies: Humans, Elves, Angels, Beast-kin, Dwarves, and the Beings of Night—more commonly known as Demons.

Among them, my home, the Regulus Human Empire, is the nation of our Human kind.

The Regulus Nation operates on a Medieval Feudalism System. It has A king at the top and then Nobles, then Knights and then Commoners. Nobles have Seven levels. From down to up they are Baron, Baronet, Viscount, Count, Marquis, Duke and Grand Duke.

Regulus Nation has Only Two Grand Duke Houses and Seven Duke Houses and Many Nobel houses, below them. that's all for society.

As for powers, Level in this world is Less like Level and more like Combat power or a power score at what you are good at.

In normal Games, a lower level character can win against a higher level one in a neutral battlefield, if he has super rare skills, Even if his stats are lower. But not here, Although not Absolute, the thing called 'Level,' which is more like combat score here, is a matrix, even more absolute than Levels in games. But it's not Just combat score, It's a score of anything that You are good at.

It's like the System or the world itself judges how important or necessary your skills are, and then it gives you a score corresponding to that skill's greatness or rareness and then that score is combined with another score that is given to you, based on how good your Stats are. then a result score is created through that combination and that is 'LEVEL'.

For example, A Level 100 Warrior and a Level 100 Blacksmith are considered equal in terms of their "worth" to the world, but if they were to fight, the Warrior would win every single time.

Why? Because the Warrior's score or Level is weighted toward lethality, while the Blacksmith's score or Level is weighted toward creation.

"So, My level being ten was not a glitch. It's the system's way of saying 'although you have zero experience and although they are locked, the skills, you have are still top tier, Brat' or something like that"

Magic, in this world of Verden follows the ancient rule of 'Quid Pro Quo' —an equal exchange. To cast a spell, one does not simply shout a name. You must pray for a phenomenon, visualize its internal and external manifestation with absolute precision, and then prove yourself worthy and offer a specific amount of Mana in the correct manner.

What does being worthy means ? in the language of manhwa, even if a 2 star mage fully understand the formula and theory of a 4 star magic and he also has a mana pool, large enough to cast that spell, Even then he won't be able to cast it. Simply because as a 2 star mage, he is not worthy of casting a 4 star spell.

It is a conversation with the world. You ask, you visualize, you pay the price in energy, and the world provides. there is no concept of Magic Circles or Magic circuits like those in comics. But there is a Concept of magic veins.

Mana is like another form of energy. Almost Every thing has mana, in Air, in Nature, In living being even in a rock (although little). in some aspects, it is a bit similar to Life force. But although, every living being posses mana, Only those with Magic Veins can circulate and use it and has the potential to become mages.

'it does not follow the rules of typical game like isekais. But..... that's what makes it more fun' I thought with a smile.

"Regardless, All these information perfectly matches the game" I whispered to the empty library aisle.

The geography, the racial dynamics, the magic system—it was too precise to be a coincidence. The conclusion was a cold, hard fact: I was inside the world of Mage Academy Saga.

My transmigration was real, as well as my 2nd chance at life.

"Which means I need to stop thinking like a player and start preparing like a survivor," I muttered, opening my leather-bound notebook.

I noted my existing options but unfortunately, everything is a Dead end. My lack of high noble blood puts me at a stalemate. there are multiple ways to achieve my goal.

one, Prove myself worthy to my father.

two, Get the support of High ranking nobles.

three, Start a coup.

all options have their up and downs.

For one, i will need to hone my talents. But that will not be enough. being a fighter is not a enough. i will need to prove my leading skills and problem solving skills but, leading a country and solving a country's problems is on an another compared to leading a small team and solving algorithms.

Even if i do succeed it will all be for nothing if it turns out that despite father sitting at top, the master minds and ruler are the nobles.

'Actually, if that were the case i might not wanna aim for the seat, anymore'. I do not have enough info about this nation's internal dynamics to know the truth yet.

For two, It's impossible. Why would those greedy oldies ever accept someone of lower blood to rule over them, Unless they get some profits out of it. But i don't wanna be their puppet.

Making a deal and then betraying them is certainly also an option but i do not like betrayal and the backlash will be massive.

For three, I will need strength and army but i Don't want to cause bloodshed and it's too much of a hassle. Also, If the price of achieving my goal is to stand on a corpse mountain of my people, i would rather not....

I looked at my writings and fell back on the chair. i closed my eyes.

honestly, if someone saw my actions they might think i am delusional and am desperate to become the king. they might say that 'you are just a fucking kid and time is on your side' but I disagree. I am not really desperate to become king. I have no fetish of ruling a country.

I Just want to experience somethings that Nick could not but always dreamed of. And those things are, achieving great things, Absolute Freedom and looking at the world from the apex of authority. All these wishes lead to one conclusion.

That is to become the king. And I, Tyler, have been given the meager chance to do it.

What is greater than becoming a king ? i can not think of anything else.

What is the best way to get freedom while staying inside the system ? Simple. You rule the system. You become the one who writes the laws, not the one who follows them.

Nick saw the world from a lower middle Perspective and always wondered How it would look like from the top, the apex of authority. I am just doing that... Fulfilling his dream.

Nick's life was full of bad luck, as if his life was working on murphy's law. So, he became paranoid and adapted a cautious personality, he would always make plans beforehand and in case, everything goes down hill, he always had Plan B,C and D ready.

'And i have just inherited that personality'

that's why i am making plans beforehand. It wasn't just my wish and ambition that were driving me to make these plans. It was Nick's deep-seated fear of being caught unprepared by the world that seemed to have some kind of a grudge against him. In Verden, where even a small single political misstep could lead to the death, that paranoia wasn't a burden —it is my greatest asset.

I got back up and look at my notes and circle one word, 'Adventurer'. 'This is my best option'. I tried to make a new road map but maybe, because my brain is still immature, I can't think much deep and can't make an in-depth plan like Nick could.

'i have to make a do with this draft'. My brain—physically only six years old—was reaching its processing limit.

I wasn't an adult trapped in a child's body; I was a child with the heavy, foreign memories of an adult grafted onto my soul.

Its like if you call the ability to control emotions, a sign of maturity, then I am mature enough to understand what emotions i am felling and Know that i need to suppress them But i can not suppress them.

whatever

There's only one tiny problem in this plan, The King. yes i will need his permission for this. To leave the capital at the age of ten, I would need a royal decree. But will that man, who always seem cold-hearted, listen if his super cute son, asks for a favor ? Don't know.

one thing i learned from nick's life is to never judge a person by how he acts. Nick had been ruined by his inability to read people.

He had judged others by their surface-level kindness or coldness, and it had led him to lose many things and opportunities. I wouldn't make that mistake again. I wouldn't assume the King was indifferent just because he doesn't smile at me.

Just as I was contemplating how to approach the throne, a sudden image flashed in my mind. A woman with a gentle gaze and a presence that felt like a warm spot in the freezing Royal Palace.

"Yes" I whispered.

She was the only person who truly knew the man behind the crown. If I wanted to know if my request would lead to a royal blessing or a cold refusal, she was the only one who could give me the hint I needed.
