Chapter 62 - Varieties

Lavanya and Fyuri landed near the Niheart through a portal in the same timeline where Denu was in his younger self.

Then their gossip entered their ears. They turned behind to look at the Niheart. It was shining in the night as always but there were an uncountable number of people wandering, sitting on seats, eating sweets and a variety of foods. At the front there was a stage where at least four women were dancing. Their dark red saris' pleats gathered at their waists, swaying as they fell like dancing petals. Its border, traced in a different golden hue, formed delicate leaves along the edges. Their faces were covered with the pallu of their saris.

Their movements were perfect. As their hands moved in perfect synchronisation, their bare feet hit the surface of the stage at the same time, making the sounds seem to come from one source. The guests there were watching the dance. People there had worn different kinds of clothes, saris and wrap dresses, while there were some men who had wrapped belts around their chests from over the shoulder which returned back to their backs, buckled tightly with their names written on the front side.

"What is she doing here?" Lavanya's gaze found Bluesy, who was sitting on the seat. A stainless steel bowl was placed on the table. No one was sat with her. She alone was eating something from that massive bowl.

Lavanya and Fyuri stepped near her. As Bluesy noticed them, she looked at them awkwardly, smiling. Her whole mouth was full of white juicy sweet balls. The sugar syrup was dripping from her mouth and hands even though the spoon was there on the table. She was too greedy. She didn't want anyone to eat them.

"Look at yourself." Both Lavanya and Fyuri stared at her with disgust.

The white juicy sweet balls were barely filling her mouth anymore yet she put her fingers in the stainless steel bowl and immediately put them in her mouth before she began to swallow them one by one.

Seeing her eat them so eagerly, curiosity pulled Fyuri. She picked the spoon, dipping it in the bowl as she took a small piece of the white juicy sweet balls before feeding herself that.

"It's good." Fyuri complimented though her expressions didn't show much surprise.

As Lavanya was about to take a bite too, Bluesy wrapped her arms around the large bowl.

"Go take yours, greedy." Bluesy's tails swung rapidly as if describing her emotions.

"What? A bite won't hurt you." Lavanya complained irritably.

"And did they even give you this much? These are quite expensive." Fyuri observed, looking around at the people who only had small bowls of syrup with only a few white and red juicy sweet balls dipped in them.

"Ten Eyus and only two sweet balls. These are this much expensive. Can't believe." Fyuri moved her arms forward forming a circle. "You have this much." Her arms lowered.

"No, it's five Eyus. I heard people talking." Bluesy wiped the syrup from her mouth with her hand's sleeve though it didn't help but made her sleeve sticky.

"Perhaps because." Fyuri placed her hand on her chin. "Neues has a good relationship with every other region. That's why Secondary Heaven's Indigo region lowered the prices to five Eyus."

"You aren't going to let me eat this?" Lavanya said almost demanding.

Bluesy shook her head stubbornly before swallowing another white juicy sweet ball.

"Why did they give you this much?" Lavanya said once again irritably.

"Because I am everyone's favourite." Bluesy said stubbornly, refusing to even let her take a bite.

"Fine. Fyuri follow me." Lavanya took Fyuri's hand, leading her toward the area where every food and sweet was placed.

They reached a long steel buffet counter with inset bowls. Guests were helping themselves while only at the sweets bowls the Lights were standing before them serving the guests. They had worn white coats over their coded outfits to avoid making their clothes sticky if the syrup fell on their clothes. And there it was. Lyanna was sitting near the white juicy sweet balls bowl, quietly staring at the arriving people.

"Why are Divines coming here?" A Lightlinger who was standing before the bowl of red juicy sweet balls complained as he saw Lavanya and Fyuri approaching.

"Can I have some?" Lavanya asked, pointing her finger at the bowl before lowering it. Her face was lighting up.

"Sure." The Lightlinger dipped the serving ladle, picking one small bowl from many which were placed near him. He served two red juicy sweet balls and placed a spoon in it before handing it to Lavanya.

"Help yourself." Lavanya handed it to Fyuri before heading to explore more. Fyuri didn't protest. She began to head to take a seat while feeding herself. She came near Bluesy's table before sitting on the seat but when she looked at her bowl, it was empty. She had already eaten all of it.

She sighed, reaching her spoon toward Bluesy's large bowl. Bluesy immediately batted her hand away.

"Go eat yours."

Lavanya opened a bowl which was on the counter as her face landed on clay pot potatoes.

"This one." She picked one bowl from among many which were placed aside before pouring the clay pot potatoes in it.

Then she moved a little more before stopping before golden puris, puffed fried flatbreads, which were stacked high in the inserted bowl. Then her gaze landed on the metal plates. She picked one from them before picking puris and placing them in the plate before the clay pot potatoes.

"Done." She said more to herself than the people around who also were helping themselves. She headed toward a seat before settling there and then she began to eat that in small bites.

Lyanna curled into herself. Sad? No, more like being dramatic as she remembered the reason behind why she was here.

Bluesy was standing before the counter, wanting to devour the whole inset bowl.

"I want this." Bluesy said. "I will give this cat to you if you give me this whole bowl."

"What would I do with a cat?" He asked.

"She also speaks." Bluesy tightened her grip on Lyanna's stomach telling her to speak.

"Yes, I do." As Lyanna said, the Lightrozer's mouth went wide open in shock before his mind ran thinking he could make so much Eris through this cat.

"Okay but I will need a separate large bowl." He agreed. As he did, Bluesy placed Lyanna on the counter.

In the present,

"Betrayal." Lyanna muttered. The Lightrozer stared at the cat already scheming.
