Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

I woke up with a strong headache, my eyes were puffy from crying. The time on the watch read 07.15. I said my morning prayer and got out of bed to refresh and be ready for the day. The sun was out early. A sunny day it was going to be. I dressed in a dress and flats. Having braids was really helpful, just spray and brush the thing, then you are ready for the day. I made my bed, took my handbag, keys and walked out.

I entered the kitchen and of course it was a happy family, with my so called husband playing and brushing the baby bump. I just stood by the entrance and watched them, it must have been nice.

"Stop it now!" she giggled.

"Let me bond with my baby for a minute," he said. I swallowed hard.

"You can bond another time, I need to get ready for work," she said.

"You work for me, so you don't have to worry," he replied.

"More reason for you to stop," she giggled. I walked in and cleared my throat. They both jumped.

"Good morning," I said.

"Morning my love, how did you sleep?" he asked.

"Fine, quite a cozy one for the two of you," I said.

"I am sorry about that, well," she started. Lady just shut up.

"You don't have to explain yourself to me," I told her.

"We weren't cozy as you thought, I was just," he started to say.

"I seriously don't want to hear it," I said.

I took out a bowl and poured cereal, followed by cold milk. I like them cold and crunchy. "Sis when are you leaving my house?" I asked as I took in spoons of my cereal.

"Excuse me?" she asked.

"You heard me," I said.

"I don't know what is wrong with you, but I am not leaving this house," she said.

"Beauty we talked about this," he said.

"I don't want her here, she must go somewhere else," I told him.

"Too bad, if someone is leaving here it has to be you," she said. I almost choked.

"Sandra please shut up! Bee we'll work around this," he said.

"I am the wife in this house okay, what I say goes and right now I want you out of my house. I don't care whether you are carrying the president's daughter or whatever! You must be out of here. And Sean, the nerve to bring your mistress into our home! Wow bro wow," I said.

"Please do not call me a mistress because you don't even know what Sean and I have," she said.

"Sandra mind your tone, you are talking to my wife here," he said.

"Oh now she is your wife, weren't you divorcing her? Last night you were in between my sheets telling me you'll file for a divorce! Today she is your wife?" she asked.

I choked this time, hard too. "What!" I coughed hard.

"I see you haven't told her, well Sean here is divorcing you, him and I will get married! You are so slow sometimes," she said.

I grabbed the bowl and threw it furiously in their direction and they ducked. It smashed across the wall. My hot slap landed across her face and she screamed loudly.

"Beauty!" he shouted.

"I am going to get you arrested for assault! Hitting a pregnant woman is a crime," she screamed.

"I would love to see you try, until that divorce is finalized I want you out of my house!" I shouted.

"I will not do such! Maybe if your womb was able to carry what I am carrying we both wouldn't be in this!" she yelled.

"You two stop behaving like hooligans! Are you crazy!" he shouted.

I grabbed my keys and handbag and walked out of the house with Sean following me.

"Beauty let's talk and what you just did there was uncalled for," he said.

"I have nothing to talk to you about, and it is not like what she said there wasn't true," I told him.

"Bee, please marn!" he said as he pulled my arm.

"Leave me alone!" I shouted. I yanked my arm out of his touch and walked to my car in the driveway.

"You should stop running away from your problems Beauty! When are you going to learn to face them," he yelled.

"My problems? You are not serious. As far as I know I have no problems," I said.

"Haibo Beauty!" he said.

"Yeah I don't," I replied.

I got in my car and drove out, from the estate to my friend's house in Colchester. Zee, she is a lawyer and a single mother to this beautiful nine year old Brenda. I would say her lifestyle was just being free and loving her child. It has been unfortunate for her that the father of her child died a month before she was born, my friend was devastated. It was God who came through for her and helped her get back on her feet. I have to say she has done pretty well over the years, in terms of emotional healing and letting go. I reached my destination, parked in the driveway and went inside.

I knocked at the door and I was welcomed by the little princess. "Aunt Bee," she cried as she jumped up for me to hold her.

"Hello Baby B," I said.

"How are you, mom is going to be so happy to see you," she said as we walked inside the house.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes and I have missed you so much! I had no one to take me for an ice cream whilst you were gone," she said.

"Now that I am back we will go my love and you are so heavy," I said. She laughed and I put her down with Zee walking in.

"I thought my ears were deceiving me but no!" Zee cried.

"Hello my friend," I said. We shared a warm hug.

"Look at you all glowing and beautiful, Tanzania did you well sister," Zee said.

"Thank you my friend, I can see you've been taken care of by Brenda here," I said.

"Yho this one is the reason I'll get old quickly, let's go sit down and you can tell me all about Tanzania, Brenda bring us snacks dear," Zee said. We walked to the lounge area. "Bee, Tanzania did you good, . Lioness you are glowing."

"Awu stop it already, I am still the same," I said.

"Really babe, Mr April must be happy you are back," she said.

"Argh, I wish my friend, lemons were served yesterday yho," I told her.

"What happened?" she asked. I told her everything. "What! After all these years?" she cried.

"Yes, after all we've been through," I said. Brenda brought the snacks and excused herself.

"Friend you have to fight for your marriage! You really cannot let all those years go to waste," she said.

"At this point I am tired my friend, I really do not know how to move forward, even so I still long for his touch, I sound desperate but he is the only man that I know and ay my friend I am stuck," I said.

"Sweety, I say stay and fight for your man, I mean that woman is nothing to what you have gone through with your husband," she said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, or you can move out from your house and start your life afresh," she said.

"I guess, I should choose," I replied.

"Yes, and you know you are always welcome to come stay here with me," she said. I smiled.

"I know friend, I know. I am thinking of going to Grahamstown for a few days and then come back, but for now I have to focus on my gallery which I will open soon at Walmer park, I have to try and find an apartment that is closer there so that I don't have to travel long distance, and traffic here isn't nice," I said.

"I hear you my friend and I think it is a good plan too, but I still say fight for your man, girl you've been through hell and back with him," she said.

"You should see how joyful he is around her, and the girl doesn't let a chance slide, she makes sure she rubs it in," I said.
