So, after all that cheering and cheering, we finally managed to go to find the third piece.
We have already two pieces, one from the book, and one from the River Of Lies! Amazing, right?
On the way, we talked a lot, but I was still kinda bored til Toki gave me some weird glowing towel.
"Huh? Where did you get it from?? We're in a forest!"
"Well, the forest gave me a little bit of its power to, y'know, survive. But don't tell the forest I'm using it for towels, okay? You look like you need it, anyway!"
Toki giggled as she explained that.
"So, do you want it? It leaves its sparkles behind~"
"No way! I don't want to glow like a disco ball!"
We all giggled when I said that. Well, Rosy kinda learned me these kind of jokes ;)
Anyways, a few mins later we were, like, in the middle of the forest?? But that didn't matter. More mattered that Rosy's annoying singing!! No one could stand it anymore!!
She was like:
"Lalalalaa we finallyyy goin' to the thirdddd pieceee~~"
"Toki, please, please, please, I beg you, do something!!" I yelled to Toki while we were walking.
"What can I do?! I don't want to make her mad!!! Wait, hold on, I got an idea!"
"Lalalalalalalalalalaaa~~ but nobody knows where it isssss~~ Nobooodyyyy, ooooohhhh~~" Rosy continued.
"Actually, ehm, we know where the piece is, I said I know all places in this forest"
Toki started, climbing ahead.
"Really? Where?"
"Somewhere beside middle,"
Toki looked around.
"Yep, just a few steps more and we're there."
"How do you know that?"
Rosy asked curiously.
"See this huge tree? That's the Heart Tree, and that's always in the middle."
"Heart— what?!"
I added. Well, of course I did, who wouldn't want to know what a 'Heart Tree' is?
"Heart Tree is the most huggest and most important and most glowing tree in this forest. It NEVER dies, and when someone destroys it, the whole forest will die! That's why I call it the Heart Tree."
Toki explained as she climbed to a branch nearby on the tree.
"So, it's basically the Forest's heart, huh?" Kai said, getting closer to the tree.
Before anyone could answer, we heard a loud VRRRRR coming from.... Well, everywhere. I jolted.
"Uh— Rosy, please, tell me it was your stomach."
"No, I ate the cookies Kai packed!"
"You dummies! It's not any stomach, the forest is mad!!!"
Afraid Toki screamed as she jumped down the tree.
"WHAT?!?!" Everyone yelled at the same time.
Then they heard the same sound, but the ground shook too.
Then more.
And more.
And even more.
Toki had to hold the branch she was on earlier to keep her balance.
An tree fell almost on Rosy, but Kai caught it.
Snow tried to find something useful for once in that backpack.
And I...
"Toki, do something, quick! You know the Forest more than anyone!"
"No, I can't! It'll make the Forest hate me, and— and who know what else!"
"The forest is mad enough to hate all of us! C'mon, calm it down somehow, please!"
"But I—"
"TOKI! Please!!"
Snow added this time, too. She's amazing at convincing. But this time.. who knows if it'll work...
Meanwhile, Toki watched it all in horror. Her friends were in trouble now.
Friends.
That word made Toki hestitate.
She never had a friend before, and now it seemed like we were their friends.
And friends risk their lives for each other.
So she did it.
She closed her eyes.
Grabbed the stick her tail always held.
Stepped into the falling leaves.
and—
a wind.
But not normal wind.
Magical.
A mix of light pink and light blue and white, the same as the trees (and the whole Forest's magic) glowed.
The wind flew as she moved with the stick, almost like a dance.
A few leaves that were falling got into the wind like it was following it.
And then she moved the stick in a heart shape, and the leaves stayed as a heart, too.
Then she turned it
right
into
the tree.
Poof. The earthquake stopped.
The Mystical forest forgave her.
And that leaved everyone speechless, and it made them believe the forest made her.
I spoke first.
"Woah... Did you— did you just—..."
"Don't talk. I know what you think."
Toki said as she opened her eyes and turned away to continue their journey.
And she smirked.
"I know this was worth you all."
