Chapter 83 - Chapter 82 Did the Stand-In Break the Scale?

While Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke were still reeling from the uncanny-valley effect radiating by Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, the goddess had already raised her bone blade high.

Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack!

The Chakra taijutsu once delivered through fists now wrapped itself in the lethal ash-bone power, transformed into sword-qi that instantly flooded heaven and earth.

Distant mountains were shaved flat; the land itself was split into canyons by the horrific sword-qi. A tempest of blades engulfed several hundred kilometres, turning everything to ash.

"Seems a bit over the top…" Watching from the mental plane, Vegapunk drew a sharp breath. Only now did he recall:

"The Ōtsutsuki aren't actually that good at fighting—they're just absurdly powerful. Their combat sense is low, and Kaguya is the worst of them. In her normal state she can't even bring out fifty percent of her strength!"

"Once the Quantum chip took over, the output went off the charts! Don't tell me the two saviours just died like that?"

"Looks like they're still alive—what the hell!!!"

When the smoke cleared, Naruto's face was frozen in shock. Sasuke clutched his right arm—blood-soaked, severed by his own hand.

The limb drifted through the air, erased by the ash-bone force within the Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack. Had Sasuke not slashed off his arm in an instant, he would have vanished with it.

"Kamui Shuriken!"

A colossal Susanoo appeared behind Kaguya, black spatial fissures shaping into shuriken that sliced toward her body.

It was Kakashi, who had slipped into Kamui Dimension to evade the indiscriminate sword-qi and now burst out for a surprise strike.

With a swish Kaguya vanished, reappearing behind Kakashi's Susanoo, a radiant orb blazing in her hand.

"That's—no way!" Sasuke, who had just swapped places with Naruto via Amenotejikara at the cost of an arm, paled.

The orb shot out like a pillar of light; the mighty Susanoo burst like a bubble. Had Kakashi not dived back into Kamui, he would have been reduced to dust.

"Dust Release—and Sage-Art Dust Release at that!"

Naruto's face darkened. "Could she always do that… or…?"

Kaguya looked down at them, calm, alighting upon the roots of the God Tree.

The roots sprouted, growing half a dozen human forms that matured into likenesses of Kaguya herself.

"Wood Release—Wood Clone! She really can learn our Ninjutsu?! Or did Infinite Tsukuyomi let her siphon memories?"

Naruto and Sasuke felt despair stir. The original Kaguya was mighty but flawed; the Ōtsutsuki's inborn blood was so overwhelming they never bothered to train techniques.

Thus, while Ninjas fell short in raw power, certain ingenious Ninjutsu could catch the Ōtsutsuki off-guard.

Shadow Clones were one example—Naruto's endless Shadow Clones plus Rasengan had even troubled Kaguya; the stronger the caster, the stronger the jutsu.

Now Kaguya possessed those very techniques… any chance of victory seemed gone.

With her strength, even a handful of Wood Clones would likely overpower ultra-Kage like Senju Hashirama or Uchiha Madara.

Before they could react, the clones flickered and vanished into the void.

Amenominaka Space—those clones, as extensions of her, had full access.

Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi stood tense and wary, while Kaguya herself merged into a towering tree-giant formed from the God Tree.

"That should do it…"

Vegapunk murmured. He dared not let Kaguya fight directly any longer, lest he kill the saviours outright. He ordered the Quantum chip: no direct attacks, only defence; send clones to balance the fight.

After that he stopped watching; projecting his mind outward slowed his absorption of memories and knowledge.

Besides, his ambition was larger—alongside those memories, he quietly siphoned a portion of Kaguya's Chakra.

With that sample, research into merging Chakra natures to reach Kekkei Mōra would leap forward—though it meant more time. "Finally drained clean!"

Below him the world appeared a kaleidoscope of shattered stained glass; Vegapunk exhaled.

"Pity Infinite Tsukuyomi needs so many conditions… and Kaguya's mind holds no theory, only instinct. Otherwise I could have absorbed an entire world's wisdom."

"Still, I've gained direction and plenty of instinctual data from her body—more than enough. Time to release Infinite Tsukuyomi."

"Wonder how the fight's going outside?"

When Vegapunk looked, his face went blank.

Only Kaguya stood there; Naruto, Sasuke and the rest were dangling from the tree.

The idea had been sound—match their power and duel evenly—but the battle had dragged on for ten hours, not the brief skirmish of the original tale.
