Everyone stood there in complete silence, as if none of this bothered them, or as if they had already prepared an even bigger plan. Angel immediately realized that something was wrong.
Suddenly, a motorcycle descended from above Angel's head and landed with a perfect drift right in front of her. She instantly understood that they had fallen into a trap.
One of them smirked and said, "Did you really underestimate us that much?"
In the next moment, nearly sixty people surrounded them.
Just then, Angel looked up and saw a helicopter descending from the sky.
"Oh no... not again," she muttered.
The helicopter landed, and a young woman stepped out wearing a black coat and formal pants.
Angel smiled and said, "Looks like you lost again."
Monster stared at her in disbelief.
Has she gone crazy?
He quickly pulled Angel closer and whispered into her ear, "Have the nuts and bolts in your brain come loose? Or did Ramin eat your brain too, you little witch? Look around! Every single one of them is carrying a gun, and you're talking to her as if she's your best friend."
Angel rolled her eyes.
"You talk way too much. Can't you stay quiet for once? We still have to go home, so we need to finish this quickly."
Monster frowned.
"What?"
"I said, stay quiet."
Inside her mind, Angel thought,
Mr. Monster... no, she isn't my best friend. But she's my sister's, Emma's, Kuro's, and Haiku's best friend. She also started her gang together with them.
At that moment, Tamayo walked over to Angel, hugged her warmly, and whispered into her ear,
"He's your crush, isn't he?"
Angel's face instantly turned as red as a tomato.
Tamayo chuckled.
"Aww... you're blushing. He's pretty cute... although he seems a little crazy."
Angel laughed softly.
"Not a little... a lot."
She then walked toward Monster.
The moment she slipped her hand into her pocket, Monster immediately pulled a gun from his own pocket, pointed it directly at Tamayo, and stepped protectively in front of Angel.
Angel looked at him in surprise.
"Where did you get that gun?"
"I borrowed it from Siddharth Bhaiya."
Inside his heart, he silently promised,
Angel... I swear I'll never let anything happen to you. I'll always stay by your side.
Meanwhile, Tamayo casually took a cigarette out of her pocket.
"Anyone want a cigarette?"
She lit it with a lighter and calmly began smoking.
Angel looked at Monster.
"Please... calm down."
One of Tamayo's bodyguards smirked.
"Trying to play the hero in front of a girl? She's beautiful, but she doesn't belong with you. She should belong to—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Monster's anger exploded. He wanted to attack him immediately, but Angel was holding him tightly, stopping him from moving.
Tamayo, however, didn't appreciate the bodyguard's words.
Without the slightest hesitation, she pulled a gun from inside her coat and shot her own bodyguard.
Inside her mind, she thought,
Good thing I killed him first. Otherwise, she would've given him a death far worse than any dog deserves.
She looked at everyone with an icy expression.
"She's like my little sister. I won't tolerate a single word against her."
Then she gently placed her hand on Monster's head.
"You're really cute."
She leaned forward, about to kiss his cheek.
Monster immediately stepped back, tightly grabbed Angel's hand, and thought,
I belong only to Angel.
A second later, he froze.
...What am I thinking? Angel is only my best friend... just my best friend. I must be losing my mind.
Tamayo smiled at Angel.
"You've chosen yourself a wonderful life partner."
Ignoring the comment, Angel said,
"Now give me what I came here for."
Tamayo smiled.
"Of course."
Angel nodded.
"Follow me."
She led everyone behind the temple where the meeting hall was located and revealed a massive hidden gate.
Monster blinked.
"What's this?"
Angel looked at him.
"Are you blind? Can't you see? It's a gate."
Monster sighed.
"I'm not blind. I can see it's a gate. What I meant was... why didn't you ever tell me about this?"
Angel ignored his question.
Inside her mind, she thought,
How could you possibly know? There are still countless secrets that only the members of the Old Lions know.
Officially, we're just the Five Lions... but behind those five shadows lies an entire world of hidden secrets.
Tamayo noticed her expression.
"What are you thinking about, Angel?"
"Nothing."
Angel continued leading Tamayo and the others inside.
Monster complained from behind,
"You're just leaving me here?"
Angel turned around, walked back to him, and smiled.
"Why are you always whining, you idiot? Come on."
She grabbed his hand and started leading him down the stairs.
Monster looked at their joined hands and couldn't help smiling.
But in the very next moment, he tripped over his shoelaces.
Angel almost fell with him, but Obhi quickly caught her hand before she could lose her balance.
Monster immediately recognized him.
He was the same man who had ridden the motorcycle over Angel's head earlier.
As soon as Angel offered Monster her hand to help him stand up, he brushed it away.
"I can stand on my own."
Angel simply shrugged.
"Fine."
Inside his mind, Monster grumbled,
You little witch... aren't you ashamed? How could you leave your own best friend like that?
He continued walking downstairs.
The moment he reached the underground chamber, his eyes widened.
The entire place was packed with countless guns.
His mouth hung wide open in shock.
Tamayo laughed.
"Close your mouth before a fly flies in."
Monster ignored her and looked at the wall clock.
It was exactly 2:00 a.m.
A mischievous grin slowly spread across his face.
Now this is going to be fun. She'll be going home soon too... and her mom is definitely going to scold her. I can't wait to watch the drama.
