Chapter 21 - Trissy

"I admit, I've been having too easy a time these days. But after finding Grelint and Megos, I finally have a third person who can interest me and whom I can make some arrangements for."

"Trissy, ah, the future Trissy Chick."

"I'm curious what would happen if Chick saw His vessel for divine descent transform into the shape of an Outer God before His divine descent. Perhaps I could have the Primordial Witch switch places? Whether it's the Goddess of Night or Medici, it seems better than this guy monopolizing this path."

"Don't ask me why I dare to keep a diary after Roselle. I don't believe anyone can interpret my diary in the language of that race in the stars that I don't even remember myself."

"In addition, there is something else worth mentioning. The student I took in under the guise of being a member of the Abraham family is like a dead man. A month has passed, and Fors hasn't sent me a single letter."

"...Wait, could it be that she wrote it but was too lazy to send it ?"

"It seems I need to check on her digestion progress."

"August 15, 1349, Wei Gao, recorded."

...

Wei Gao strolled casually down the street. The setting sun, as red as blood, splashed onto the river, making the water appear stained as if it were soaked in blood. He paused briefly, using his extraordinary abilities to observe a stiff corpse lying on a bed from a distance. After confirming the old woman's cause of death, a slight smile appeared on Wei Gao's lips. Triss made her move. Wei Gao watched as a group of Night Watchers walked outside, led by the young necromancer mentor. Triss cleverly escaped, but her act of impersonating a witch was far too clumsy. Even a rookie Night Watcher like Klein could spot the clues on her.

"There are too many occult imprints, Triss. Relying solely on a witch's own counter-divination won't protect you from those who harbor ill intentions." Wei Gao pursed his lips, picked up his cane, and leisurely walked outside, following the occult connections, heading straight for the altar where Trissy was hiding.

As both the Hanged Man and the Overlooking Path that is, the "Scholar" Path Sequence Seven "Observer" the High Dimension can easily find its target through observation even without using its own source matter.

The second floor of the gray-blue house, inside the unlit bedroom.

A young woman with a round face and a gentle, sweet demeanor sat in front of her dressing table, studying the "complex" science of skin care under the dim starlight.

Next to her right was a silver mirror, its surface so rough that it barely reflected her image.

Suddenly, a bloody stain appeared on the silver mirror.

Trissy's gentle and sweet expression immediately turned somber. She stood up, walked to the window, and silently gazed outside.

After a brief exchange with Leonard and his group, Trissy retreated, carrying her injured body. It's worth noting that, due to the apparent corruption of the True Creator by Dunn Smith and a small group of Night Watchers involved in the operation during the previous battle, the Sanctuary specifically reassigned Daly, who was familiar with Tingen, to Tingen, replacing Dunn and sending him to Backlund to recuperate.

Daly, who had already advanced to Sequence Six, nearly killed Trissy with the spirits she summoned. Although she escaped with her life, she still suffered several severe penetrating wounds.

On the banks of the Tasok River, Trissy slowed her pace, her gaze falling upon the flowers she held in her hand. She murmured something to herself, and suddenly a black, ethereal flame erupted from her palm. This flame enveloped the flowers, igniting them and reducing them to ashes.

The flower was stained with Leonard's blood, and Leonard's expression changed drastically as he watched his fingernail, which he had just pulled off, begin to burn. He was grateful that the "old man" in his mind had reminded him in time.

Triss intended to jump directly into the water, but then her ears twitched as if she heard some strange noises. She jumped back warily and saw a gentleman in a suit and tie, holding a crystal-encrusted cane, walking towards the shore.

"What's wrong, lovely lady ? You look terrible. Do you need any help ?" Wei Gao asked Trissy gently, a smile playing on his lips. If one ignored the oddity of his presence, he seemed like a true gentleman at that moment.

Triss's expression shifted between light and shadow. Suddenly, she flashed a seductive smile and stumbled weakly toward Wei Gao. She gently wrapped her slender, pale arms around Wei Gao's neck, and with a flick of her wrist, a gleaming dagger plunged without hesitation toward Wei Gao's back.

However, Trissy was shocked to find that her thrust had missed its mark. She watched as the dagger pierced through Wei Gao's body and disappeared into shadow. She stared blankly at the man before her, while Wei Gao used his right hand to restrain Trissy, a mysterious smile playing on his lips as he made the sign of a cross on his chest.

"Praise the Lord."

"Damn it, the Aurora Society!" Trissy watched helplessly as she was pushed underwater and gradually lost consciousness. She had initially thought that the man wandering around at night with nothing better to do was just a "Night Watcher" or some other wild extraordinary being, but she never expected that he was actually a member of the Aurora Society, who had already wiped out his entire clan in Tingen City!

...

"Klein, try divining Trissy's location. Hmm… Leonard is right, those little devils in the Witch Cult might really have been transformed from men. I'm quite curious if they miss their past as men. Ah… being able to feel each other's feelings, that's one of the features of this potion, isn't it ?" Daly said casually and lazily, sending chills down Klein's spine, who was already feeling a bit disgusted.

At that moment, he suddenly remembered what Wei Gao had said about the famous quote recorded in Emperor Roselle's diary, "The taste of a witch is truly delightful," and Klein couldn't help but cover his mouth...

Your Majesty ! Your XP... well, a person's XP is their own business, Your Majesty, you should be more careful!

Klein suppressed a chill and took out his cane to perform divination. After closing his eyes and silently chanting seven times, his expression hardened as he looked at the cane standing firmly on the floor

The divination was interrupted !

"Cough cough cough, haa"

Triss jolted awake from her unconsciousness, coughing a few times. She suddenly found herself lying in a room with a burning fireplace, and the person who had submerged her before she lost consciousness was now sitting by the fireplace, leisurely reading a book, dressed in different clothes. The situation was clear: she had just lost consciousness, been taken away, and was now a "prisoner" of the Aurora Society of course, Trissy was already looking around for an opportunity to escape.

"You're awake ?" Wei Gao asked. Triss rolled over and stood up, looking at Wei Gao opposite her without saying a word. She seemed very determined, with an air of "take it or leave it."

"Then it seems she's awake." Wei Gao stood up and slowly walked towards the sweet-looking woman with a round face. He stared at Trissy, and with each step he took forward, Trissy unconsciously took a step back.

"Witch, what's your name ?" Wei Gao asked, a shadow gathering on his sleeve, and a gleaming blade appeared in his hand, its cold tip pressed directly against Trissy's snow-white neck. Feeling the sharp, icy touch on her neck, Trissy nervously swallowed, her previously flickering eyes instantly becoming sincere and trusting.

"Sure enough, this is the simplest way to negotiate..." Wei Gao muttered to himself, then asked the same question again: "Name ?"

"Trissy," Trissy replied, her voice humiliated.

"Alright, Trissy." Wei Gao nodded gently, releasing the blade from his hand. He sat on the living room sofa, quietly looking at Triss: "I ask, you answer. The Witch Cult ?"

"Yes, I am a member of the Witch Cult." Seeing that her life was no longer in danger, Trissy's previously sluggish mind began to function again. "The one who guided me to join the Witch Cult was a higher-sequence Beyonder she is still in Tingen and should have already discovered my disappearance. We have no hostile relationship with your Aurora Society, so why did you capture me ?"

"Heh, you can send your 'predecessor' here, I don't mind." Wei Gao sneered, "Besides, I'm asking you now, don't ask me back."

"And besides, I'm saving you, Trissy." Gavi wagged his finger. "If it weren't for my protection, you'd probably be captured by the Night Watchers by now, wouldn't you? Daly Simone, she's a seasoned necromancer who has mastered role-playing and 'messengers.' Even with extraordinary items, do you really think you, a Sequence Seven, can escape from her clutches ?"

"..." Triss turned her head away and clicked her tongue: "Tell me, what do you want from me ? Your Aurora Society wouldn't be so kind... Ha, save a 'witch' ?"

"Would you like to have faith in my Lord?"

Trissy's pupils contracted instantly, and she retreated, looking like she was about to explode. Wei Gao chuckled and said gently, "Just kidding. How about you leave the sect and become my subordinate? I can provide you with a method to 'digest' the potion, as well as financial support. In exchange, you just need to work for me."

"I'm sorry, but I'm completely devoted to the Witch Cult." Triss refused righteously. "Ha, you're really not a believer in the True Creator. Are you a nobleman? Ridiculous. Since when have believers in the True Creator started recruiting witches as their subordinates ?"

"Oh…I see." Wei Gao smiled mysteriously at Trissy. "Do you know the name of your pathway, Sequence Six ? Ah…judging from your expression, you probably don't. Perhaps you don't even know that you will transform into a woman at this stage ? But then again, would so many men really willingly join a witch cult ? Or are you looking forward to becoming a beautiful woman?"

"What?" Triss had a bad feeling. "What do you mean ? What is the name of the potion in the next sequence after 'The Witch' ?"

"Guess if I'll tell you ? Trissy, I saved you, and you're completely ungrateful. You won't even say thank you to me."

"…Thank you." Trissy stared at Wei Gao, forcing out the words through gritted teeth. After saying this, she turned her head away, remaining silent for a long time. Seeing her emotions reaching a breaking point, Wei Gao smiled. He looked at Trissy with a mocking gaze and uttered two words:

"Pleasure".

Trissy's eyes changed instantly, filled with shock and a hint of fear. She looked at Wei Gao and asked coldly, "What exactly do you mean?"

"Tell me first, do you want to help me or not ah, of course, if you really don't want to, I won't force you. As everyone knows, our Aurora Society always acts with utmost righteousness, saving lives without expecting anything in return. Even if I risk great danger to save you, and you don't repay the kindness, I won't be angry," Wei Gao said casually. Trissy stamped her foot in annoyance, pondered for a moment, and then asked solemnly:

"What exactly do you want me to do? Murder, robbery... I can do all those things. But let me make this clear first, I will not recite the name of your Lord, nor can I be made to..."

"You will act as my inside man within the Witch Cult, carrying out the tasks I assign you when necessary, gathering intelligence on the Witch Cult and whatever information you have access to of course, I will reward you handsomely. If some types of tasks cause you any 'psychological trauma,' you can even refuse. You don't need to chant the name of my lord; you can simply have my messenger deliver the message. How about that ?"

"…Okay." Trissy frowned, staring intently at Wei Gao. She watched as he quickly tossed a piece of paper he'd been holding into the fireplace after she'd agreed, and was momentarily stunned.

"What did you just write? A complaint letter to Storm Cathedral ?"

Triss had excellent eyesight; although Wei Gao had moved quickly, she had still managed to catch a few words on the document and decipher some information. It was clearly a letter accusing her of identity, and the recipient was none other than the Church of Storms!

"You've misunderstood. The Aurora Society and the Storm Church are sworn enemies."

"That must be a whistleblower letter!"

"You've misjudged."

Trissy opened her mouth, then decided against arguing. She calmed herself, looked at Wei Gao, and asked:

"I've already agreed to your request, so now can you tell me what you promised me?"

"Of course, I'm a man of my word." Wei Gao chuckled, resting his chin on his hands, and said to Triss:

"Do you want to become a man again, Trissy?"
