Chapter 13 - The Unlucky 0-0-8 and His Useless Pen Holder

Why is the moon in this painting white?

When Audrey uttered those words, the others also noticed the strangeness of the painting and couldn't help but wonder why it was designed this way. As everyone knows, in the Kingdom of Rune, the "Crimson Moon" is the symbol of the goddess of night, yet this painting depicts the moon as pure white, which immediately made everyone feel a sense of incongruity.

Some followers of the Goddess of Night even felt slightly dissatisfied, but they didn't show it too much after all, there were no other evil gods associated with the moon!

"Ahem, I think this painter is definitely not a follower of the goddess of night," a minor nobleman said jokingly, "but this painter must be very artistic."

"You flatter me. Although I am not a follower of the Goddess of Night, I still deeply respect her." A gentle voice rang out, and everyone turned to see Gao Wei, wearing a monocle, walking towards them. Gao Wei wore a warm smile. "During my creation process, I painted the moon white simply to highlight the tranquil atmosphere. This color also carries a serene and gentle aura, perfectly matching the impression the Goddess of Night gives to her followers this was my impression while painting in Dixi Bay a few days ago."

Viscount Grelint casually emphasized this to prove Gowy's identity: "This painting was given to me by this esteemed painter, and I can assure you that Mr. Gowy's painting skills are among the best even in Backlund."

Standing before the crowd who had witnessed his transformation, Wei Gao adjusted his monocle and smirked, "That's right, it's just a painting technique..."

Something was wrong. Audrey instinctively sensed something was amiss. Although Wei Gao's spirit form and behavior were flawless, Audrey, as an "observer," instinctively felt a sense of unease. It was as if a drop of oil had been mixed into a glass of water; Gaowei seemed to be deliberately displaying this incongruity to those around him.

But where does this sense of incongruity lie...?

No, wait! Audrey suddenly realized that this was too perfect. She discovered that the higher-dimensional celestial being was too calm, completely different from its outward appearance even the most composed person would show at least some change when revealing their creative inspiration to so many people! He hadn't changed at all; he was purely "performing"! This was a flaw shown to the extraordinary beings present; he had discovered the extraordinary beings at the banquet, and he was demonstrating his own sequence!

But… what path did this ability take? Such a perfect "performance," sigh, I'll have to ask Mr. Fool at the Tarot gathering in a few days. Audrey stroked her smooth, beautiful chin, lost in thought. It wasn't until the ball's melodious music began and the crowd gradually dispersed that Audrey realized she had been lost in thought for far too long. After a slight moment of panic, with the help of her maid, she quickly calmed herself and entered the "audience" mode, engaging in conversation with the others at the salon.

Under Viscount Grelint's introduction, Audrey and Fors exchanged a few simple pleasantries but did not discuss anything further in public.

Watching Fors walk towards the dining table, her target a small cake smeared with cream, Audrey looked away and followed Grelint to the living room.

She recalled the details she had seen during her conversation with Fors, trying to accurately grasp the other person's thoughts so as to gain the initiative in future interactions.

Taking a step forward, Audrey, with her aloof demeanor like a neutral spectator, tripped over the hem of her dress, nearly falling. But before her maid Anne could catch her, a strong hand steadied her.

"Be careful, miss." A cool male voice came from her side. Audrey's ears twitched. For some reason, she sensed a slightly unsettling and eerie feeling in that cool and serious voice. Audrey didn't think much of it and straightened up as if nothing had happened, but a pretty blush appeared on her face.

She saw the handsome man dressed as a musician give her an impeccable smile, then step back and walk to the side with a gentlemanly air. Audrey turned to look at the musician, sensing the aura of an "Extraordinary" emanating from him as well.

"He came with Mr. Abraham, didn't he? He's Mr. Abraham's companion, hmm... it seems they're both extraordinary individuals. Are they trying to contact me or Viscount Grelint? No, if they were trying to contact us, Viscount Grelint should have warned me first. But based on my observation, this unknown gentleman seems to be a well-mannered gentleman as well..."

Lost in her own thoughts, Audrey walked into the crowd, completely unaware of Mr. A's complex inner turmoil.

Mr. A admitted that he needed to repent.

As the Lord's shepherd, he hadn't been able to fully and quickly align his thoughts with the Lord's current scriptures and doctrines; the smile he'd just displayed was an expression he'd barely managed to maintain using flesh magic. And as the Aurora Order's messenger, when he discovered the young woman he'd helped was an extraordinary being, he'd almost instinctively unleashed a flesh explosion, erosion, and disintegration attack on her face. Fortunately, thanks to Mr. A's strong self-control, he had just successfully prevented a brutal murder.

While confessing to the Lord in his heart, he continued to faithfully complete the tasks assigned to him by the higher dimensions.

Wei Gao sighed silently. He had just witnessed all of Mr. A's inner thoughts from some peculiar angles through his own perspective. He almost used his knight-errant abilities to stop Mr. A's madness. While dealing with the nobles and writers around him who wanted his portrait, Wei Gao quickly moved between the tables, devouring the food at the banquet.

However, it seems Mr. A's faith in the True Creator is still quite devout, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to resist the urge to kill just now he couldn't let this guy kill Miss "Justice," otherwise Klein would probably be in trouble if the Tarot Club's money bag was gone. Wait, this cake is nice, maybe I should send one to my dear companion too, so that He can strengthen His humanity... The High Dimensional Overlord's avatar in the Forsaken Land touched the True Creator's body with its tentacles.

Okay, the true Creator ignored Him, and the true extra meal was gone.

Seeing that he had achieved his main purpose for attending the banquet, Wei Gao was no longer in a hurry. Audrey had already seen the painting under his guidance, and with a little arrangement, she would tell Klein about it as an amusing anecdote. Wei Gao forked a piece of steak and put it in his mouth, savoring its flavor. He strolled leisurely through the center of the banquet, thoroughly enjoying the performances of the guests around him. It was a perfect aristocratic ballet, where everyone was pursuing their own desires and interests. They were free, freely displaying their talents and radiating unique light and warmth. But bound by the rules, they were all like soulless puppets.

The high-dimensional observer coldly surveyed his surroundings, suddenly feeling an immense sense of pleasure. He cut the steak with a knife, pretending he was cutting the writer's essence something he already possessed but couldn't eat. Following the path of his past corruption, the high-dimensional observer manipulated the corrupted Ince Zangwell, causing him to drift into a drowsy sleep. Then, controlling his body, he grasped the listless 0-0-8 and began writing in a notebook:

After seeing the pure white moon in the painting, Audrey Hall couldn't contain her curiosity and prepared to ask the all-knowing and all-powerful "Fool" about the white moon at the next tarot meeting.

With his eyes closed, Ince Zangwill, like a stiff little man, struggled to tear off the paper, silently chanting the name of the higher-dimensional observer, offering the paper as a sacrifice. The observer smiled and touched the paper with its strangely shaped limbs.

The words on the paper flowed away, floated in the air, and then lined up one by one before Him. As the higher-dimensional observer gently manipulated the surrounding space, these words quickly degenerated into a one-dimensional array of information streams, passing through the gaps in the astral barrier as an extremely long line, and appearing within the astral barrier. These information streams recombine into handwriting, leaping and appearing in an inconspicuous corner inside Audrey's sleeve.

Audrey Hall seemed momentarily dazed, but continued walking forward as usual.

Wei Gao gazed at Audrey, whose expression remained unchanged, and swirled the wine in his glass. He watched as Mr. A diligently moved among the numerous guests, using his handsome appearance and the methods described in the books Wei Gao had instructed him to read to cultivate relationships with many artists and minor nobles seeking new connections. At the request of several artists, he even sang a couple of lines of a hymn praising the ancient sun god, bringing a musician from Intis to tears, who immediately gave Mr. A extremely high praise.

Humans are truly fascinating. The Aurora Society's envoy, once despised by all, receives so much praise after a little disguise. Wei Gao sipped his wine, sitting idly in his chair, observing everything with amusement, quietly analyzing the psychological activities of everyone at the banquet. The Outer God's mind was so powerful; in just a moment, Wei Gao, having completely seen through the desires of these people, felt bored once more. He kneaded the Hidden Sage in his own hand, trying to shape it into his own form, while watching the life on the planet controlled by the Ring of Fate, seeing each life end in the most dramatic of destinies.

And so, Wei Gao passed the time while waiting for Fors and Audrey to finish their conversation and come out of the room.

As Viscount Grelint left the room, the guests also departed in twos and threes, laughing and chatting. Their expressions revealed that almost everyone had benefited greatly from the banquet. Wei Gao even saw several musicians who believed in the eternal sun and Mr. A sharing a mutual appreciation, agreeing to host Mr. A again next time.

Wei Gao felt that those sun worshippers were out of their minds. He could already imagine that the next time these guys invited Mr. A to their circle, they would be attacked by the true creator's followers and infected into the appearance of ancient sun god worshippers. He immediately became very interested and had his true form give Mr. A a look.

"Actually, I've always wanted to see what it's like for believers to be betrayed by their own faith." One of the higher-dimensional observers said to another being on a different "timeline": "I wonder what they would think if they knew that the'Sun of Justice' they worshipped was born from a betrayal?"

"A shift in human thinking can happen in an instant," the future higher-dimensional observer said to his present self. "If Mr. A is capable, they should be able to quickly transform from extreme faith to extreme hatred. However, this scene is worth watching."

The once lively banquet gradually cooled down, leaving only Wei Gao and Mr. A as guests. Viscount Grelint frowned slightly, seemingly surprised that they were still there. Audrey, however, had expected this; she silently thought to herself:

Viscount Grelint... I feel bad saying this, but actually... you're the only one standing here who isn't an extraordinary being.

"Excuse me, Viscount Grelint. I have some business with Miss Fors Wall. Would you mind lending me a room?" Upon hearing this from Wei Gao, Grelint was momentarily at a loss for words did these two know each other before? He glanced at Fors subconsciously and saw her nod slightly.

Since Miss Fors, an Extraordinary, had agreed, then… Grelint pondered for a moment, then instructed a servant to lead the two into a room next to the living room. He was just about to sit down and chat with Audrey when he heard Mr. A say in a relaxed tone, "Speaking of which, I heard a rumor before. It seems that Viscount Grelint wants to become an Extraordinary? I wonder if that rumor is true or false?"

Grynt's pupils contracted slightly. He gestured for the servants beside him to retreat to the edge of the living room, while he engaged in eager conversation with Mr. A. Audrey sighed and rubbed her forehead, resigning herself to watching the two men as spectators. She noticed Mr. A's gaze sweep over her, followed by a polite smile.

Ince Zangwill gazed at the brilliant starry sky outside the window, his face grim. He stared at the quill pen in his hand, wrapped with unidentified black threads, as if he wanted to smash it to the ground several scraps of paper lay scattered before him, drops of ink splashing wildly around them. A sharp pain shot through his brow, as if his spirit had suffered a severe injury.

He clenched his left fist and slammed it heavily on the newly repaired table. Blood vessels began to appear in his cloudy eyes.
