By the time they left the river, the sun was already high above the trees.
Iris walked along the forest path with Snow following close beside her. Behind them, Caleb was still complaining about his stolen shirt while Dog trotted along as though he had done absolutely nothing wrong.
"I still think the dog owes me a shirt," Caleb muttered.
Benjamin glanced at him. "You have another one."
"That isn't the point."
"It seems to be the only point you've been making."
Caleb opened his mouth to argue, but Henry's quiet laugh interrupted him.
"I'm beginning to think Dog understands you better than we do," Elias said.
Caleb looked over his shoulder. "That is not funny."
"It is a little funny," Veronica said.
Caleb sighed dramatically before continuing down the path.
