They all talked and agreed that they would be both their leaders. Having them as their leaders will make their tasks manageable and productive. The pretty girl was left in silence, leaving her with no choice because of the majority vote.
She noticed that her classmate was not there, and then she saw him, stunned, watching the calm river.
What is he thinking?
He was probably as confused as she was. She just let him meditate with his thoughts while listening to the others. The two leaders talked to each other for a few minutes, then he announced something to them.
"Okay, so it's like that. It's a good thing we didn't get wet from floating on the river, so we don't have to change our clothes other than carrying anything with us. Let's not separate our ways. We will look for a place where we can stay, and we will build huts. There are a lot of trees and vines, so we won't have much trouble," briefed the chubby boy.
The boy with eyeglasses continued what the chubby boy was about to say. "As for the food, the girls will gather some fruits and vegetables or any edible that they will find in the forest. Boys, look for wood that can be turned into huts, and we will build them. To others who have nothing to do afterward, get ready to work with a bonfire before night." His authoritative request from them. "We, as your leaders, will look for a place where there is clean water and a safe place to stay. And always remember, do not go alone. You should always have someone with you because you may get lost. I will also mark our meeting place. We will gather there with what you all got. In case anything happens to you, shout for help," he finished. They both made a good and fast decision upon arriving here.
Everyone agreed, and so they went for a walk to find a place for them to sleep. She couldn't help but look for and look at her classmate. The others in the same pair of uniforms were talking because they were in the same school and maybe the same class.
She guessed they were the only pair who had not talked and interacted yet. She would have asked him a lot of things in case he remembered something about them. But he still seems confused to the point that she could not approach him.
After that, all the girls looked for food. This place was so secluded that they avoided getting far away from each other.
"Yo!"
She was startled by the sudden slap on her shoulder.
"H-Huh?" She stuttered, asking.
"Oops, your face is so funny, hahaha!" A shoulder-length, black-haired, tan-skinned girl startled her. Her uniform is a white blouse, red necktie, red skirt, and black shoes. She just scratched her head from what she did.
"Chill! I may not look like it, but I'm a trustworthy person. You know, we're the only ones who will help one another, so yeah!"
She just nodded and then smiled at her. Looks like she approaches everyone to get to know, and she's the last one she talks to. They started chatting, and she's a talkative and bubbly type of person. They got some vegetables and fruits for their food later. They also gathered mushrooms, but she's not sure if all of these were safe to eat. None of them are experts when it comes to survival and hunting.
"Ah! It's wearing me out!" she complained while reaching for fruits. It was indeed tiring because she was not accustomed to this work. "Think about it, one day I remembered I was at school, but when I woke up, I was already in outer space, and when I woke up again, I was in this place!" she mumbled jokingly.
What she said made her ponder. "At school?"
She turned her back on her. "Yes, we had a moving up ceremony then. The weird thing is, I don't know some people, but others know me."
Her eyes widened. The same thing happened to her. She was about to ask another question when a modest-looking girl with braided pigtails approached them.
"Um, excuse me. Let's go back to gather food," she insisted.
They can't wander around the forest and take much time because they are not familiar with this place. They only managed to get what they saw and deemed useful. They went back to their meeting place quickly and saw some boys sorting trees to make huts. Maybe she'll talk to the bubbly girl later and ask if they were going through the same thing before they entered here.
The other girls took a short break, and the boys are preparing a bonfire. With the limited resources they have, they were also limited in focusing on their needs first. They had a hard time because they were not used to this kind of setting compared to cities. She recognized that it was still morning because the sun shone when they came here. Approximately four to five hours later, after they gathered stuff for food and shelter, it was already getting dark.
Everyone was working together when a boy approached them and gasped.
"G-Guys..." a boy with brown, undone hair stammered, holding onto his knee due to fatigue.
"Oh, what happened to you?" a girl with a messy hair bun questioned him.
His heavy breathing continues. "There's a monster over there!"
