Chapter 22 - Sorry Ayanokouji, I’m Selling You Out Again

Why was this conversation getting weirder?

Ryunosuke felt his words were starting to deviate, but that wasn't the main problem now. His main problem was how to make this teacher of his let him go so he could sleep peacefully.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to sacrifice Ayanokouji.

(Sorry, Ayanokouji, for the sake of my grand money-making plan, you have to suffer a little.)

Ryunosuke stared sharply at Sae and without hesitation disclosed the fact that Ayanokouji was an expert hiding his abilities.

When Sae heard there was a great person in her class, her face showed joy. And when she learned that Ayanokouji deliberately scored exactly 50 in all subjects on the entrance exam to suppress his scores, the teacher became even more excited.

While he was at it, Ryunosuke also "sold" Suzune. Although initially Sae seemed uninterested...

However, once Ryunosuke informed her of the fact that Suzune was Horikita's younger sister, and had utility value because Manabu wouldn't just let her be, Sae's interest returned.

Actually Sae already knew that. It wasn't a secret if someone intended to find out; their surnames were the same, and she wasn't stupid enough not to investigate. It was just that Suzune's performance so far hadn't been too outstanding, so Sae had abandoned the idea of using her to raise class rankings.

By successfully selling those two people to Sae, Ryunosuke managed to regain his peace. At the same time, he dragged Ayanokouji—who just wanted to live peacefully—into the vortex of conflict and under Sae's surveillance radar.

This way, the teacher surely wouldn't let that "tool" go easily. Ryunosuke felt relieved. He could let Ayanokouji handle Suzune's problem while helping raise class rankings. Truly killing two or three birds with one stone.

Ryunosuke didn't need to do anything, money still came in, and tasks were completed. This was what's called victory without effort.

In the end, Sae no longer took issue with Ryunosuke's poor performance this month. She was aware of Class D's true nature; she just needed someone to vent her frustration on, otherwise she could go crazy.

Three years after three years she tried, when could she rise to Class A?

Initially she thought this Class D was the worst in history, but it turned out there were some hidden gems. Starting from Ryunosuke who entered the student council in two days and brought Class B to A rank—although she didn't know how, he did it himself.

If this young man was willing to move, it wasn't impossible for Class D to rise in rank. Because she needed Ryunosuke, she couldn't offend him.

Sae shifted her target to someone else who now made her curious: Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.

That student seemed ordinary from the start of entry, nothing stood out, his eyes even looked lifeless like a dead person. Sae thought he was just an ordinary student, turned out to be an expert at manipulating scores. And again... the Ayanokouji surname, she felt she had heard it somewhere. Was there a connection to that political figure, or just a coincidence?

(Ah, forget it. What do I care? I just want to rise to Class A. As long as I can reach Class A, I'll do anything. Even if the young man in front of me wants my body, I might agree, as long as he can bring this class up. I'm willing to do anything, even sell my soul.)

Sae extinguished her cigarette butt and stared at him with an unconcealed heated gaze, making Ryunosuke feel strange.

Feeling threatened by that gaze, Ryunosuke shivered and reflexively stepped back while protecting his body.

"What are you looking at? Why are you staring at me like that? You're not planning something strange, are you, Chabashira-sensei?"

Facing that question, Sae immediately returned to normal and sighed. "Tell me, what do I have to do for you to be willing to move? As long as I'm capable of doing it, I'll comply."

Sae lit another cigarette. Ryunosuke, seeing the ashtray already full with butts from almost two packs, reminded with good intentions. "Smoking isn't good for health. Take care of your body."

Sae waved her hand unconcerned. "I've been smoking like this for three years and I'm fine... cough, cough!" She immediately choked.

Ryunosuke felt resigned. "Chabashira-sensei, smoking won't solve problems."

After calming down, Sae replied curtly, "Then help me solve the problem, asshole! I already paid, but you haven't exerted any effort."

Ryunosuke shrugged. "I'll move in a day or two."

"Oh?" Sae was interested. "What are you going to do?"

Ryunosuke smiled mysteriously. "Secret."

Sae rolled her eyes. "Whatever if you don't want to say. Need my help?"

Ryunosuke shook his head. "No need. You just handle Ayanokouji and Horikita's matters first. Find a way to drag those two into this plan. Remember, don't leak that I'm the one who told you..."

To avoid being hated by Ayanokouji, Ryunosuke deliberately warned about that. If that genius knew his peace was disturbed by him, he would surely retaliate.

To convince his teacher, he gave a big guarantee. "As long as Sensei can control those two, don't worry about the rest. I'll help from behind the scenes. Rising to Class A is just a matter of time."

In his heart he added: Because Ayanokouji will be the one doing it.

The next morning, Saturday.

Ryunosuke intended to prepare for the next action. Because he wanted to rake in points in large amounts, he had to devise a mature strategy. He went to an electronics supermarket to buy many surveillance cameras.

Upon arriving there, he saw a familiar figure. A wine-red haired girl wearing glasses to hide her beauty: his classmate, Sakura Airi.

Remembering the original timeline, it was indeed time for that incident to happen...

Ryunosuke stared at the store assistant nearby; his eyes sparkled full of enthusiasm. His luck was really good... an opportunity to find money came again.

He stepped forward and greeted the hesitant Airi. "Yo, good morning Sakura. You're here wanting to buy a digital camera?"

Hearing the sudden voice, Airi was startled. Her camera almost fell if she hadn't immediately clutched it tightly to her chest. After seeing it was Ryunosuke, she nodded shyly.

"Good morning... Akasaka-kun."
