Chapter 3 - Barathria

it was late in the night; the bustling town was now calm and quiet. Robellia tossed and turned in her sleep as she muttered. "Liya wake up it's just a dream. Momma is here." Robellia gasped as she sat upright, "They are coming Mother. In hundreds, they are never going to win this. we have to leave now." Odelia who was woken up by all the chatter groaned, " Another nightmare, Liya." Robellia shock her head "No it was real. I felt it. It's the ancestors, they are trying to warn us. I have to talk to them. I have to take off the ring Momma." "DON'T!" Roselyn stopped her. " we shall leave now. Odelia start packing." They hurriedly packed the necessary items and were off. They boarded a carriage passing by which was very lucky considering the time. They had plans to rest in the nearest city before heading to the witch camp in the capital of Osodia. On their way they could see the heavy smoke and fire that came from the chaos in Manhatra.

And as they believed they were safe the carriage was ambushed by a gang of thieves. they were captured and were taken as slaves. As they sat at the back of the wagon, tied up, Robellia held onto her mother. "We will get through this together." Roselyn tried to assure her daughter and sister. The journey to the port of Kaldebar was long and tiring. They wren't given any food nor water for 3 days straight. The people that captured them sold them off to the Barathrians.

They were forced onto the Barathrian ships and they were finally given water and a stale bread. The journey to Barathria was long and agonizing they sailed for days. Soon enough aunt Odelia fell I'll. The soldiers in charge of them didn't take it to well and saw her as a liability. One day they took her and that was the last Robellia saw of her aunt.

"It will be fine little one. As I promised, I am going to keep you safe." Roselyn consoled her daughter. Robellia was trying her best not to cry as she saw how badly the others were beatean for disobedience. After 2 weeks of sailing, the ship finally arrived at the Barathrian port. The port was bustling with people all around.

The slave were forced into a line. The male children were taken to join the army whilst most of the girls were taken to the main slave market, the rest were sent to the brothels. When the big scary man stood before Robellia, she instinctively moved closer to her mother. "What a rare beauty. It would be a shame to take you to a brothel. You'd make a wonderful wife."

Roselyn pulled her daughter closer, "Please, sir she is just a child." The man scoffed, "Fred, come look at this. This woman thinks she can talk back at me.Now listen closely woman." The man grabbed Roselyn by her hair. Roselyn shrieked in pain. Robellia begged as she cried,"please, sir. Don't hurt my mother." The man pushed Robellia away. "No one talks back at me. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?"

"Peter that is enough." They heard a feminine voice. A woman in her late forties came forward. She looked dignified and carried an air of nobility. "The rest of the girls and women are coming with me. The palace is short on staff." Peter looked pissed but held his emotions back. "You can take them but the girl stays with me." The woman glared at him, "Did I stutter? I said all the girls and women left.Do not make me repart myself."

Peter let go of Roselyn as he threw her to the ground. The woman sighed," Now gather yourselves. You have been selected to work for the Barathrian Royal family. My name is Madamé Sino. From here on forward you are to follow my orders and do exactly as I say. I shall remind you that you are nothing but slaves so you shall be treated as such."

Madamé Sino led them to the wagons were they were taken to the Royal palace. There they were instructed to the shower room and given new set of clothing. They were also assigned to the large hall were they would be sleeping as well as their sleeping mats. Life in Barathria could actually not be that bad.
