Raikou's gaze swept over him with a hint of scrutiny and wariness before turning to Entei.
Entei, carrying a basket of tree fruits, didn't speak to Raikou but instead stepped into the cave and placed the basket on the ground.
Raikou stood at the cave entrance and looked over. Its eyes were like lightning; the cave wasn't large, so it could see everything inside at a glance.
A nest made of fallen leaves, a basket filled with tree fruits…
Raikou's brows furrowed tightly, and it finally spoke.
"You really did adopt this guy!"
"Little one, come down and play by yourself for a while." Entei bent down, letting Fuyuki slide off its back, then turned to look at Raikou, its gentle tone now tinged with authority.
"This has nothing to do with you. You've always had a deep misunderstanding of humanity. Little Raikou isn't the kind of human you describe... no... he's learned Pokémon language and lives like a Pokémon. He's not human; he's a Pokémon, just like us."

"Entei, have you forgotten the mission we bear?!"
"I haven't forgotten!" Entei denied.
Raikou's voice was deep, seemingly containing the fury of thunder:
"Oh? Then do you know what's happening outside? Lately, I've been traveling across this land, and I've seen those despicable humans harming Pokémon again!"
Hearing this, Entei's eyes narrowed. Another Pokémon hunter?
The three legendary beasts each have different duties.
Suicune's duty is to purify the world's polluted waters. It rides the north wind across the land, searching for places where clear water flows.
Raikou is solitary by nature. Because it distrusts humans, it usually wanders far from human habitation, only appearing during thunderstorms when Electric-type Pokémon are in danger.
Its duty is to use its sacred fire to burn away all evil in the world and rescue Pokémon from the clutches of evildoers.
Faced with Raikou's questioning and suspicion, Entei was initially furious, but its anger instantly subsided upon hearing that evil had reappeared.
Raikou coldly looked at Entei: "And you, you stay here, living a peaceful life in a cave with this treacherous and evil human cub!"
Entei remained remarkably calm.
"Where did those people appear?" it asked.
"Mt. Silver," Raikou replied coldly.
Entei took a deep breath.
Despite its deep reluctance,
it knew it had to leave.
Before leaving, it had to make sure Little was settled.
Entei looked at Raikou and pleaded, "I can't leave Little here alone, Raikou. While I'm gone, I hope you can take care of him for a while until I return."
What? "!"
Raikou was both shocked and furious. He was supposed to take care of a human cub?
What a joke!
"Impossible, absolutely impossible!"
"This guy was brought back from outside. I've already warned you, but you wouldn't listen. No matter what you say, I won't take care of him!"
Raikou delivered a double refusal.
"Little One's parents died protecting Pokémon. We should take responsibility for caring for their cub. Besides, if we don't care, he'll die!"
Entei looked at Raikou and promised, "I promise, I'll come back immediately after I drive those evil people out."
Raikou fell silent.
This was the first time Entei had ever pleaded with it so humbly.
Raikou gazed at its companion.
"Is it worth it?" it asked.
To go to such lengths for a human.
"Little One is different." Entei shook its head.
"Hmm…" Raikou closed its eyes, letting out a low sigh, seemingly a helpless lament. After a moment, it reopened its eyes and said,
"I will only protect his safety; everything else is none of my concern."
"Thank you." Entei thanked Raikou, intending to ask Marshadow for help with the rest.
Seeing this, Raikou turned and left, its agile and strong figure disappearing from Entei's sight in a few leaps.
Entei breathed a sigh of relief. It turned back to its cave and saw Little One sitting on a pile of fallen leaves, gazing at it expectantly.
Entei walked over and, as usual, lay down behind Fuyuki, beginning to lick his fur.
"En…tei?" Fuyuki's voice sounded very childish.
"Hmm." Entei responded telepathically, then continued, "That's Raikou."
"Raikou?"
"I'm leaving Mount Tensei. There's something very important waiting for me in the outside world."
Entei nodded, looking down at its little one. "For the next while, Raikou will take care of you in my place."
Entei is leaving?
Fuyuki's eyes widened immediately.
He had lived with Entei for nearly five months. During this time, Entei had always taken care of him, taken him for walks, played with him, and slept with him at night.
Now, hearing that Entei was leaving, Fuyuki felt a surge of intense unease and reluctance.
Then, Entei saw its little one's eyes redden.
"Don't go!" Fuyuki instinctively didn't want to be separated from Entei.
Entei sighed helplessly, pressing its large head against Fuyuki's side, and said in a deep voice, "I won't leave. I'm just going out to do something. I'll be back soon, listen to me, little one."
Fuyuki hugged Entei's large head and asked in a muffled voice, "How long?"
He knew he couldn't stop it, because the three sacred beasts all had their own missions.
"Soon," Entei assured him, "I'll come back to you as soon as I'm done."
