Chapter 91 - Return

"There," Shizune whispered, her hands glowing with warm, green medical chakra as she pulled them away from my forehead. The massive, throbbing bump Tsunade had given me was completely gone, leaving only smooth skin. "All better, Kenji-kun."

"You have the hands of an angel, Shizune," I smiled softly, reaching up to gently trace the back of her hand with my thumb. "I honestly don't know how Tsunade survives without you."

Shizune's breath hitched. Her dark eyes darted nervously toward the crater a few yards away, where her master was currently standing over the broken, twitching body of the Toad Sage.

"P-Please, Kenji-kun. Not here," Shizune pleaded in a frantic whisper, her face already warming up. "If she sees us..."

"Let her see," I leaned in, my voice dropping to a low, intimate hum that vibrated right through her. "You aren't just an assistant anymore, Shizune. You're mine."

Shizune squeezed her eyes shut, her entire face flushing a brilliant, undeniable crimson. A soft, involuntary whimper escaped her lips as the sheer, unapologetic dominance of my words sent a heavy, electric thrill straight to her core.

"Alright, playtime's over!"

Tsunade marched over, dusting her hands off with a satisfied huff. Behind her, Jiraiya was a groaning, bruised heap in the dirt, muttering something barely coherent about ungrateful women, broken ribs, and lost research material.

Tsunade stopped directly in front of me, her amber eyes narrowing sharply as she looked between my entirely relaxed posture and Shizune's incredibly flushed, flustered face.

"Shizune, is he harassing you?" Tsunade demanded, cracking her knuckles again, the threat hanging heavily in the air. "Because I can always add a matching bump to the other side of his head."

"N-No, Tsunade-sama!" Shizune lied instantly, jumping to her feet and standing at rigid attention, though her knees were trembling slightly under her dark kimono. "Kenji-kun was a perfect gentleman! The healing just... took a lot of chakra! I'm completely fine!"

Tsunade stared at her assistant for a long, penetrating moment. She was clearly suspicious, but the lingering adrenaline of the battle and the sight of her unconscious future-Hokage candidate distracted her. She sighed, running a hand through her blonde hair, and turned her attention to Katsuyu. The giant slug was gently lowering Naruto to the ground.

The blonde Genin was unconscious, his breathing finally steady, completely exhausted from forcing the Rasengan into Kabuto's stomach.

Tsunade walked over and knelt beside him in the dirt. She reached beneath her grey kimono jacket and unclasped the heavy, crystalline necklace that had belonged to her grandfather, Hashirama Senju. The cursed necklace that had been worn by Dan and Nawaki before they died.

She gently draped it over Naruto's neck, the green crystal resting against his torn orange jumpsuit.

"You did good, kid," Tsunade whispered, a rare, incredibly genuine smile crossing her face as she looked down at him. "You're going to be a great Hokage."

She stood up, looking around the devastated, smoking ruins of the battlefield. The giant snake indentations, the shattered bedrock, the scorched earth.

Then, she looked back at me.

The hot-headed anger and the depressed gambler were gone. In their place was the calculating, heavy, immovable gaze of a Kage.

"Jiraiya told me bits and pieces on the way here," Tsunade said, her voice carrying a new, undeniable authority that demanded attention. "He said you were a prodigy. A rich kid with some weird tricks. But taking down an S-Rank summon with your bare hands? Ignoring the Kusanagi blade like it was a toy sword? You aren't just a prodigy, Kenji. You're an anomaly."

"I prefer 'visionary'," I smirked, putting my hands casually in my pockets.

"Whatever you are," Tsunade stepped closer, looking down at me, her presence immense. "You fought for the Leaf today. You protected my assistant, and you paid my debts. I don't like your attitude, and I think you're a shameless little pervert..."

She paused, a fierce, determined fire igniting in her amber eyes, burning away decades of grief.

"...But I am returning to Konoha. I am going to take the hat. And when I sit behind that desk, I am going to need monsters like you on my side to keep the village safe. Are we understood, Genin?"

I looked up at her. The Legendary Sucker had finally evolved into the Fifth Hokage. The massive, beautiful, incredibly powerful woman was finally taking her rightful place on the board.

I gave her a lazy, two-finger salute.

"Loud and clear, Fifth Hokage," I grinned. "Just remember who funded your campaign."

Tsunade rolled her eyes, a slight, grudging smirk playing on her red lips. "Shizune. Pack up the pig. We're going home."

*****

The journey back was an absolute breeze. Tsunade was energized and walking with purpose, Jiraiya was in constant pain, Naruto was practically vibrating with excitement, and Shizune was a constant, blushing mess whenever Tsunade wasn't looking directly at her.

As we walked through the massive, newly repaired wooden gates of Konoha, a small delegation of Jonin and ANBU were waiting to receive us. Koharu and Homura, the two ancient, perpetually sour village elders, stood at the front.

"Tsunade," Homura said, pushing his glasses up his nose. "We are relieved you finally accepted the call."

"Save the speeches, Homura," Tsunade brushed right past them without breaking stride, her grey kimono flowing behind her. "I've seen the damage to the outer walls. The village is a mess. I want a full damage report, a list of all critical patients in the hospital, and a bottle of premium sake waiting on the Hokage desk in exactly ten minutes. Move it!"

The sheer, overwhelming charisma and blunt authority of the Senju princess left the elders momentarily stunned, their mouths hanging open, before they scrambled to follow her orders.

I stood near the gates, watching the new Hokage take absolute command of her village.

Suddenly, the sleek blue interface of the System materialized, blocking my view of the bustling street.

[System Notification: Main Quest Complete.]

[Quest: The Legendary Sucker.]

[Tsunade Senju has officially returned to Konoha to accept the mantle of the Fifth Hokage.]

[Calculating Rewards...]

[+10,000 Shameless Points (SP).]

[Bonus Objective Achieved: You established a 'deep' connection with Shizune, securing the Sannin's inner circle.]

[Item Acquired: 'Will of Fire' Authority Token.]

[Description: A passive, undetectable aura item. While equipped, all Konoha shinobi (Chunin and below) will subconsciously view your orders with the same weight as a Jonin Commander. You belong to the elite.]

[Item Acquired: Legendary Item Box.]

[Description: A randomized loot box containing one Legendary (S-Rank) item, weapon, or bloodline limit.]

I whistled softly under my breath. My SP balance was looking incredibly healthy again, and the Authority Token was basically a cheat code for skipping the boring, tedious chain of command when dealing with fodder ninja.

"System," I muttered, walking away from the bustling crowd at the gates and stepping into the shadow of an alleyway. "Open the Legendary Item Box."

The blue screen shifted. A golden, ornate chest appeared, rattling violently in the holographic window before bursting open in a spectacular shower of digital sparks.

[DING!]

[Legendary Item Acquired: The Heavenly Vitality Pill (x1)]

[Description: An S-Rank consumable forged in the fires of a higher dimension. When consumed, it permanently removes all physical limitations, toxins, and cellular degradation from the target's body. It essentially reverts the physical body to its absolute prime state and locks it there. (Note: Can be used on self or given to a subordinate).]

I stopped walking. I stared at the description of the pill, my eyes tracing the glowing blue text over and over again.

Reverts the body to its prime state and locks it there.

My mind immediately flashed to a certain blonde Hokage who wasted massive amounts of chakra every single day just maintaining her youthful Transformation Jutsu. A woman who, beneath the illusion, was biologically in her fifties, constantly fighting the physical toll of the Creation Rebirth jutsu.

A slow, incredibly wicked, completely degenerate grin spread across my face.
