Chapter 18 - [Game 1 - Prelims] Even the Good Guys are Confused

Chapter 18: Even the Good Guys are Confused

From the perspective of Player 4, the Hunter.

He could recognize Player 9, who had voted for the wolf, as a good player, and he also recognized Player 7, who had protected Player 9.

Player 6 was the first badge flow.

Player 5 sounded like he might be another God Card, and Player 3 had even thrown him into the badge flow.

If Player 5 were a wolf, would Player 3 have done that?

Player 4 wasn't sure.

He also had no way to use that point to attack Player 5.

So, looking at the previous speeches.

The only one he could really target was Player 8, who had attacked Player 9.

"But Player 8 hasn't done anything else besides stepping on Player 9, whom I consider a Good Guy. After all, Player 9 did cast a bandit vote, and their performance under the sheriff wasn't exactly up to par, so Player 8 stepping on Player 9... doesn't seem like too big of a problem."

"Furthermore, Player 8 even gave their sheriff badge vote to Player 10, so from my position, I can't definitively pin her down as a Werewolf Card."

"However, from start to finish, Player 8 never considered the possibility that Player 9 might be a Good Player Card. Her determination to eliminate Player 9 was too strong. So, is it possible her hidden card is a werewolf... I'm really not sure."

"Let's listen a bit more and see if any wolves appear in the back positions."

"If multiple wolves appear in the back positions, then Player 8 can be excused slightly. If I only hear one, or none at all..."

Player 4 fell silent for a moment, then pointed out his suspected wolf pit.

"Then the wolves should be Player 3, Player 8, and one likely between 5 and 6—probably only one, since Player 5 attacked Player 6 and Player 7. It feels like Player 5 and Player 7 don't actually know each other and shouldn't meet at night, plus Player 7 pointed out Player 5 in the front positions..."

Player 4, the Hunter, was actually a bit afraid of Good Guys fighting each other.

After all, only the werewolves can clearly see the factions of all players on the field.

If a situation arises where Good Guys are fighting each other, it gives the werewolves an opportunity to exploit.

With the lead in the lynch-push, Player 4 did not want to see such a situation.

However, since Player 5 hadn't openly claimed to be a God, Player 4 couldn't directly recognize him as good yet without knowing his hidden card.

Therefore, he pointed out that one wolf might be among Player 5 or Player 6.

"The remaining wolf will be one of the cards behind me."

"Of course, this is all just the logic I've deduced from this position. As for whether the wolf pit I've identified is correct, I really need to hear the speeches from the back positions. I haven't completely condemned Player 8 either; we can hear what the Seer says in a bit."

"This is the perspective I can provide for the Good Guys. I'm done."

Player 4 finished his speech.

Player 10's gaze was heavy now, looking like he was deep in thought.

He could almost be considered the undisputed Seer now.

However, even so, trying to catch a werewolf among so many cards was still not that easy.

He couldn't guess the werewolves' nighttime strategy.

But now, Player 3, who had counter-claimed against him, was out, and he had received the sheriff badge with a large majority of votes.

There was Absolute-ly a wolf Flipping here.

But who was hooking him?

Player 10's peripheral vision fell on Player 9.

And this guy.

Was he a Good Guy who voted wrong, or a werewolf leading the charge?

Players 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4... this was only the first round of speeches on the first day.

There were even several people who hadn't spoken yet.

And already so many cards were fighting.

"It's enough to kill some brain cells. Fortunately, I have my Golden Water, Old Chu. I can't be sure about the others, but Player 11 is definitely a Good Guy. I can listen to his analysis in the final position later."

Player 10 sighed inwardly.

He felt even more fortunate about his move to verify Player 11 last night.

Wang Changsheng glanced at the Seer's expression and roughly understood what he was thinking.

The fighting among these previous cards was indeed a bit fierce.

Some wanted to vote out number nine.

Some wanted to vote out number five.

And others wanted to vote out number eight.

They certainly couldn't all be werewolves.

For Player 10, trying to pick out the Good Guys and catch the werewolves among these people was indeed a headache-inducing task.

[Player 2, please begin your speech.]

Following the Judge's words.

Player 2 found that he could speak.

His face was full of seriousness now.

He didn't look relaxed at all.

This was normal.

After all, Player 4, who preceded him, had said he wanted to hear if there were wolves in the back positions.

Although he wasn't sure if Player 4 was a wolf or a Good Guy, the Seer would definitely listen carefully to each of their speeches in the back positions.

Therefore, even if just to clarify his status to the Seer so the other could recognize him, Player 2 felt he should speak carefully and well.

After all, he was just a Villager Card.

If any loopholes appeared in his speech or logic, and he was branded a werewolf by Player 10 and pushed out as a scapegoat, he would have no way to defend himself.

But even as an ordinary villager, he was a villager with dreams—a villager who didn't want to be Push and pushed out!

So Player 2 was in a high state of focus.

He didn't immediately comment on the front position cards, but instead began a dialogue with the Seer.

"The fighting up front was quite fierce. Let me first help you, Player 10, organize things, so that when Player 11 speaks, he can focus on the key points."

Player 2 cleared his throat and then fixed his gaze on Player 9.

"The current situation is this."

"Player 9 is staying put; the Seer hasn't been able to fully distinguish him yet and will follow your lead, Player 10, to vote for a number card other than him."

"Player 8 attacked Player 9 and tried to get Player 9 out."

"Player 7 protected Player 9 and simultaneously told Player 8 she had targeted the wrong person, which means Player 7 actually thinks Player 8 is also a Good Guy, otherwise he wouldn't speak to her like that."

"In addition, Player 7 believes that the now-eliminated Player 3 would have included at least one or two of his Wolf Teammates in the badge flow or verifications."

"Knowing that Player 1 is the Witch, then Player 5 and Player 6 might be Player 3's Wolf Teammates."

"Player 6 stood up and didn't think Player 7's talk was correct, but protected Player 7 anyway, and took the opportunity to attack Player 5."

"Player 5 stood up and stepped on Players 6, 7, and 9, believing Player 7 is trying to change today's rotation and has a worse status than Player 9; if not 9, then 7 can be voted out."

"Player 4's speech protected Players 7 and 9, and he believes the wolf pit is Player 3, Player 8, one between 5 and 6, and one or two in the back positions."

Having said this, Player 2 turned to look at Player 12 next to him.

Before the Seer and his Golden Water, only their two cards remained.

So, according to Player 4's logic and the wolf pit he laid out, either he or Player 12 would have to be in it.

But Player 2 knew his own hidden card was a Good Player Card.

So from his perspective, if Player 4 wasn't a wolf, Player 12 would have to be in the wolf pit.

But strangely, he didn't think Player 4 seemed like a wolf, and Player 12 didn't seem much like one either.

Player 2 paused for a brief moment.

He then continued: "I've finished a simple talk on the logical relationships of the front positions. Now, let me share my viewpoint."
