Chapter 12 - Death of the Giant

"Hm… each cone's flames are pretty intense. And once they spiral and fuse, the firepower increases even more."

"But if you're trying to burn that giant to death with fire alone… it still seems a bit lacking."

Arms crossed, Tatsumaki stared at the giant engulfed in flames, calmly offering her critique.

Just as she said—

The giant, his entire body glowing red, slowly stepped out of the inferno.

Like a demon climbing out of hell itself.

Killing intent rolled off him in waves, ferocious and oppressive.

Especially those crimson eyes—like a feral beast ready to tear someone apart at any second.

"You damn insects! You dare burn me with fire?!"

"I'll tear every last one of you to pieces!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The moment he locked onto the Blizzard Group's position, the giant charged forward at full speed.

Each step made the earth quake violently, as if the ground might shatter beneath him at any moment.

Facing a rampaging giant closing in at terrifying speed—

Hellish Blizzard remained perfectly calm.

"The true power of this weapon set hasn't even reached one-fifth yet."

"Jumping to conclusions now is a little premature, don't you think?"

As she spoke, Blizzard activated the remaining cones.

In an instant—

The cones reorganized, three to a group.

A massive high-pressure water projectile.

A colossal lightning cone.

A roaring wind cone.

They manifested almost simultaneously and blasted toward the giant.

The distance between both sides was already short.

At such closing speeds, it was nearly impossible for either side to change direction in time.

And the giant—already consumed by rage—had no intention of stopping.

He raised both arms in front of him, using them as a shield, and charged straight into the oncoming water projectile!

Boom!

The water detonated against his body first.

The immense impact caved in his chest, followed by the sharp crack of breaking bones.

The giant staggered back half a step, barely stabilizing himself.

But when he lifted his foot to charge again—

Something felt wrong.

His eyes bulged, and his face twisted in pain.

Large, blistering burns instantly surfaced all over his body.

Before he could even react—

The lightning cone arrived.

It struck his drenched body head-on.

"AAAAAAHHH—!!!"

A scream of agony tore through the air.

Devastating lightning engulfed him, like countless vicious needles stabbing into every cell of his body.

If one looked closely—

It was clear that the lightning tore through the burned blisters far more efficiently.

Those blistered areas became perfect outlets for the electricity.

They were violently ravaged, bursting apart—

Leaving behind countless dense, bloody holes of varying sizes.

"You cursed heroes! I'll tear you apart!"

The giant's eyes were completely bloodshot, hatred toward the Blizzard Group reaching its peak.

But he wasn't given even a moment to recover.

Right after the lightning—

The final wind cone arrived.

It slammed straight into his chest.

Slice by slice, it carved through his flesh.

The blood holes left by the lightning drastically increased the cutting efficiency.

Bit by bit, the damage accumulated.

A massive gash was torn open across his torso.

Then the wind cone surged forward again—

Driving straight through the already fractured bone.

Soft internal organs were shredded into pulp.

Even his back was pierced clean through.

In the end—

A horrifying, transparent hole was blasted straight through the giant's chest.

BOOM!!!

With a thunderous crash, the giant collapsed heavily onto the ground.

In his fading consciousness, one arm slowly reached toward the sky—

As if trying to grasp something that was no longer there.

"Brother… didn't you say I was already invincible…?"

"Wasn't I supposed to be the strongest in the world…?"

Even as his life faded away—

Disbelief was frozen on his face.

Seeing the giant finally defeated—

A rare look of shock appeared on Tatsumaki's usually calm face.

"The monster was actually… defeated?"

After a brief daze, she clenched her small fists tightly.

"Damn it… it must be because that monster wasn't strong enough."

"That has to be it!"

She glared at the corpse for a moment longer, then flew away in a huff.

Though she had lowered her voice—

Her agitation still let a few words slip out a bit too loudly.

Blizzard didn't need to think much to understand what her sister was complaining about.

Instead of gloating—

She felt an inexplicable sense of relief.

For years, Tatsumaki had protected her too well.

So well that almost every time danger appeared—big or small—Tatsumaki would rush in and solve it for her.

Blizzard had even suspected that her sister was constantly monitoring her.

It made her deeply uncomfortable.

Though she had resisted at times—

Most of the time, she was still firmly sheltered under Tatsumaki's shadow.

But today—

Watching her sister leave in frustration.

Watching her fail to interfere.

This was something Blizzard had never experienced before.

On the path of surpassing her sister—

She had finally taken a solid step forward.

And the person who made all of this possible—

Was that mysterious man who had appeared at her moment of crisis and saved her.

Compared to Tatsumaki—

Luo Yu felt far more like the true hero who had pulled her out of danger.

As that thought settled in, her gratitude toward him reached an unprecedented height.

She felt that as long as she held tightly onto Luo Yu—

Surpassing her sister one day was no longer just a dream.

"This giant was already insanely strong. Without Miss Blizzard, most heroes wouldn't stand a chance."

"Yeah, a single set of Four-Element Annihilation Cones is terrifying enough—she used all three sets."

"And even then, if the coordination had been off, the giant might not have gone down."

Hearing the praise from her teammates, Blizzard waved her hand lightly.

"It was just a Demon-level monster."

"In the future, who knows what kind of terrifying monsters we'll face."

"Let's hurry up and collect him, then go celebrate with Mr. Luo Yu."

"Miss Blizzard, long live~!"

At the mention of celebration, the Blizzard Group erupted into cheers.

After securing the giant, they quickly left City D.

Normally, after each operation, the Blizzard Group would actively cooperate with the media and promote themselves heavily.

But this time—

Led by Blizzard, they headed straight for Luo Yu's place without hesitation.

The celebration was held at a barbecue restaurant.

The private room was spacious.

Women gathered on one side, men on the other—clearly divided.

"Um… Miss Blizzard…"

"Just how far have things progressed between you and Mr. Luo Yu?"

"I'm really curious—can you tell us a little?"

With alcohol giving her courage, Lily blushed as she voiced what she normally would never dare to ask.

Blizzard froze for a moment, her face faintly red.

"Why would you ask something like that?"

"There's really nothing going on between us."

Yet the moment she said it—

Images of Luo Yu flooded her mind.

Her cheeks grew even hotter.

"Hehe, Miss, your face is already that red, and you're still saying nothing happened?"

"We noticed it long ago. You might as well stop pretending~"

Blizzard covered her face with one hand and shot back awkwardly.

"Pretending? What am I pretending about?"

"What kind of nonsense is going on in your heads?"

"Nothing has happened between Mr. Luo Yu and me, okay?"

Lily shook her head, unconvinced.

"Hehe, stop pretending already."

"You go to his place for meals all the time—that alone is suspicious enough."

"And then there was that day… the thing at the corner of your mouth."

"You really can't fool us with that~"
