Chen rushed Jinx back to the Hextech laboratory, but the only soul there was Viktor. The scientist was hunched over the workbench, his sallow face illuminated by the flickering violet light of the Hex Core.

"Where's Jayce?" Chen asked, his breath hitching from the climb.

Viktor coughed, a dry, rattling sound, and glanced over his shoulder. "He went looking for you hours ago. He hasn't returned."

Viktor seemed oblivious to the carnage at the gates; his world had shrunk down to the geometric evolution of the cube before him. Chen lingered for a second, looking at the man's trembling hands. "Maybe change isn't a bad thing, Viktor. Just... be careful what you trade for it."

As Chen hurried out, he didn't see Viktor collapse. A warm spray of blood hit the surface of the Hex Core. The machine didn't just absorb it; it pulsed, the runes shifting into a jagged, organic pattern.

Chen found Jayce at his family estate. The "Golden Boy of Piltover" looked like he had been pacing for hours.

"Piltover is falling, Jayce," Chen said, skipping the pleasantries. "Silco brought a monster. He's called Mundo, and he's eating your Enforcers for breakfast."

"Mundo?" Jayce frowned. "I saw the Shimmer Warriors at the gate, but—"

"This is worse. He's a Juggernaut. Bullets don't work, and he heals faster than we can cut him. We need a 'Grievous Wounds' solution, and we need raw Hextech power. I need you to build the hammer. The one that's also a cannon."

Jayce froze. In the privacy of his workshop, he had already prototyped the Mercury Hammer. He hadn't told the Council. He hadn't even told Viktor.

"How do you know I can build a dual-form weapon?" Jayce asked, his eyes narrowing.

Chen resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He didn't have time to explain Season 1 lore. "Because you're the guy who's going to save this city. Now, did the Council agree to weaponize the Hex-Core?"

Jayce sighed, looking at his boots. "They're still debating the ethical implications. I can't just act without permission, the legal—"

"Forget the Council!" Chen barked, grabbing Jayce by the collar. "Are you going to wait for a signed permit while Mundo 'operates' on every family in the North District? Build the damn hammer, Jayce. Be the hero everyone thinks you are."

Jayce looked into Chen's eyes and saw the sheer urgency of the situation. He nodded slowly. "Actually... I already finished it. I was just... waiting."

"Good. You're the Future Guardian now. Grab your gear and meet us at the Enforcer camp near the Hexgate."

While Chen handled the muscle, Caitlyn and Vi arrived at the Ferros Estate. They were led directly to a young woman standing in a garden of razor-sharp hedges.

This was Camille Ferros. She hadn't yet replaced her legs with blades or her heart with a clockwork core, but she already radiated a lethal, predatory grace.

"The Sheriff and the Trench-Brawler," Camille said, her voice like velvet-wrapped steel. "I assume the situation at the pier is as dire as my spies suggest?"

Caitlyn didn't waste time. "We need the Ferros family's intervention."

Camille shook her head. "The family doesn't care who runs the city, as long as the trade flows. Silco has offered us... favorable terms. My elders won't lift a finger."

Caitlyn stepped forward. "I'm not asking the family. I'm asking you. Miss Camille, I am hiring you personally. I know you accept private contracts. Name your price, and help us hold the line."

Camille smiled, a small, dangerous curve of the lips. "A personal contract? Very well, Sheriff. I've been looking for an excuse to test my limits against these 'Shimmer' monstrosities. I accept."

An hour later, the Enforcer camp was a hive of legendary figures. Chen arrived to find Caitlyn, Vi, Jayce, and Camille waiting.

"Where is Seraphine?" Chen asked.

An Enforcer stepped forward, leading a bewildered ten-year-old girl with bright pink hair. "We found her, but... Chen, she's a child. Why is she here?"

Chen didn't answer. He couldn't tell them that Seraphine wasn't there to sing—she was there to complete the Inventor trait.

He found Heimerdinger near the barricades and explained the plan. The Professor, seeing his city in flames, finally agreed to lend his technical genius to the field.

Chen opened his system, watching the icons light up one by one:

SYNERGY ACTIVATED: The "Pinduoduo" Ultimate Comp

3 Inventors: (Heimerdinger, Jayce, Seraphine) -> Summoning...

4 Hextech: (Jayce, Vi, Caitlyn, Chen-Augment)

2 Enforcers: (Caitlyn, Vi)

2 Sisters: (Vi, Jinx)

1 Socialite: (Seraphine)

1 Future Guardian: (Jayce)

"It's a shame Janna is still in Zaun," Chen muttered. "I'm missing the Scholar buff."

Suddenly, the ground in the center of the camp began to hiss with steam. Parts from the surrounding scrap piles flew together, locking into place with magnetic force.

A giant Hextech Mechanical Beetle stood in the center of the camp, its crystal core glowing with a protective aura.

"Look at that beauty," Chen grinned, swinging his lamppost. "Alright, team. We have the frontline, we have the DPS, and we have the Beetle. Let's go take the Doctor's license away."
