Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: From the Bottom of My Heart

The story goes back two weeks.

Leo had shown the final cut of Jujutsu Kaisen to his sister, Lauren Vance. After watching the first three episodes, Lauren had immediately called him, her voice crackling with a mix of shock and sibling pride.

"Leo, how did your acting skills hit Mach 5 overnight? You were a disaster six months ago!"

"Focus, Lauren," Leo had laughed. "Help me move the licensing rights."

Despite her standing order for him to quit and come home to New York, Lauren was a businesswoman first. She saw the potential. "Fine. What's the quote?"

"Thirty million per episode for the streaming rights," Leo had said. "That's three hundred and sixty million for the season. I won't take a cent less than twenty-five million an episode."

Lauren found the quote surprisingly reasonable. The CGI alone looked like it cost a billion dollars. But she also knew the risks.

A few days later, the results were in. The acquisition leads at Global Stream were hesitant. Because of Leo's "unstable" reputation, they rejected the $30 million bid. They offered $15 million per episode, a lowball for a production of this scale.

Leo countered with a move that made the industry veterans think he'd finally lost his mind.

He agreed to drop the upfront fee to just $120 million ($10 million per episode). However, he demanded a 7:3 revenue split on the backend, 70% for his production company, 30% for the platform.

Usually, even A-list producers only get a 3:7 split. Global Stream, thinking they were getting a visual masterpiece for a bargain upfront, agreed.

Only Leo knew the math. If the show hit 100 million valid views, his 70% share would net him nearly a billion dollars. And that was before considering the IP value, the merchandise, the "Jujutsu Kaisen 0" movie he was already planning, and the "Hidden Inventory" prequel.

He wasn't just making a TV show; he was building an empire.

The Premiere: Episode 3.

On screens across the world, a light rain began to fall.

Steven Grant's Megumi stood outside the detention center, waiting for Itadori to emerge. But the person who walked out into the rain wasn't Yuji. It was Sukuna.

"He used me without a second thought... and this is the price he pays!"

Sukuna tore his shirt open. Under the horrified gaze of the audience, he raised his hand and thrust it directly into his own chest.

Splat!

Blood gushed. Sukuna gripped his own heart and ripped it out - beating, raw, and visceral.

The audience's collective heart stopped for a few seconds.

[Wait, what?! The lead actor is dead?!] [He's been the protagonist for TWO EPISODES!] [Sukuna: "Yuji, I have something to tell you from the bottom of my heart!" Literally!]

[Is this the 'Healing' drama we were promised? This is psychological warfare!]

Starlight Management.

"Oh my god..." Maya West (the CEO) sat frozen, her hand covering her mouth.

Her "jinxing" had come true. Itadori really had lost control. She looked at Della Rose. "Della, you worked with Lucas Miller. Call him. Ask him if he's... I don't know, ask him if he's still in the union!"

"Maya, shut up," Della whispered, her eyes glued to the screen. "I think I'm going to cry."

In the episode, Sukuna, functioning perfectly without a heart, began his assault on Megumi.

What followed was a fight sequence that redefined television. The Shikigami Megumi summoned, the massive, lightning-shrouded bird and the Great Serpent clashed with Sukuna in the storm-swept sky.

The special effects were so seamless, so tactile, they made the latest Marvel blockbusters look like student projects.

Megumi, battered and broken, finally accepted his end. He looked at the creature inhabiting his friend's body and said:

"I didn't have a logical reason to save you back then. Even if it was dangerous, I just didn't want to see a good person like you die. I'm not a hero. I'm a sorcerer. And I've never regretted saving you."

The audience was devastated. Even at death's door, Megumi was protecting the memory of the boy who had just "died."

"Is that so?"

The black markings on Itadori's face faded instantly. A bright, tragic smile appeared on his lips. Lucas Miller's performance in this moment was haunting.

"You're smart, Megumi. You think more than I do. I think you're right... but I don't think I was wrong, either."

Itadori coughed up a terrifying amount of blood. It soaked his uniform and pooled at his feet.

"Sorry... time's up. You, and Nobara... and Sensei..." Itadori gave a bitter, final smile. "He's the Strongest, so he'll be fine. But you guys... live a long life."

Thud.

The rain grew heavier. Yuji Itadori's corpse fell into the mud.

The streaming chat was a lake of tears.

[Second episode? Third episode? Are you kidding me?!]

[I declare this the series finale. Everyone is dead. Goodnight.]

[Leo Vance, I am coming to your house to show you my kitchen knives! How could you do this?!]

[The chemistry between Megumi and Yuji was so pure... and now he's just... dead?]

The scene shifted to a cold, sterile room.

Leo's Gojo Satoru stood over the body of his student. For the first time, the lazy, playful teacher was gone. In his place was a man radiating a chilling, absolute killing intent.

"I warned them not to fight if they encountered a Special Grade," Gojo said, his voice like dry ice.

"They couldn't escape, Instructor," the assistant explained, trembling.

"You think they were 'lucky' enough to run into a Special Grade while I was out of town?" Gojo asked, his eyes hidden but his fury palpable. "No. The higher-ups used a monster to execute a boy they were afraid of."

Gojo's smile returned, but it was the most terrifying thing the audience had seen yet.

"Finding the specific person who planned this is too much work... maybe I should just kill every single one of the higher-ups and start fresh."

The audience felt a chill through their screens. They could feel it, this wasn't "acting." In this moment, Leo Vance looked like he was ready to burn the entire world down.
