Chapter 1 - A new start to leave the past

It was the crack of dawn when I woke up. I knew it was the first day of high school for me, but I didn't think I would like it. While getting ready, I hear my tia say, "Anton, make sure your ankle monitor isn't about to die. I don't want to get a call from the police about it being dead." When I looked down and saw it, and totally forgot that I still had to wear it until my first year of high school, I remember that day I got it, it was summer break of middle school, and all I could remember was seeing my parents dead on the floor, and me killing the person who did it. When the cops came, they thought. I killed both of them, so they took me to court. I was persistent in insisting, but people still see that bad person on the outside.

I may look scary and intimidating, but deep down, I'm just a kind person who wants to make friends, yet I never could. I always get bullied and am called a killer; nobody wants to be around me, and even the teacher avoids me. All they see is a killer. As a result, I have to wear an ankle monitor that shocks my leg if I get aggressive. It hurts, but that's my new life now, and I can't do anything about it. After I got done getting dressed, I told her goodbye and headed off to school. When I got there, I walked onto campus, and I felt like a regular teenager again, but then a cops calls me asking me to follow him "You've got to be serious" I said with a tired voice because they always did this back in middle school so I got pretty tired of it plus he called me out in front of everyone. So now people know who I am, "THE KILLER," they all say, just thinking about it pisses me off, but a sign of aggression will trigger the monitor, then shock me, so I have to stay calm. While I was walking, the officer asked me for my name, so I told him, "Anton Sanchez, sir."

"Well, Anton, you know what will happen, right?"

"Yeah, I know the drill. You guys are going to put me in a room, ask me some questions, and then tell the teachers about my past. I know how this works; I just want to show people that I didn't do it."

"Well, whether you did or didn't, you're still seen as a threat, so don't do anything stupid."

After he said that, I knew that high school year would be harder than I thought, but I have a way to make it easier for me, and I have to just figure it out. After all the trouble I've been through with the school admission and the school resource officers, I'm finally heading to my first class. As I walk there, I'm alone for now—not because I don't have friends, but because I enjoy some quiet time before class. Being in drama means I'm often surrounded by people, so I appreciate these moments of solitude. I might seem a bit rough around the edges at first, but if you take a moment to sit quietly, you'll start to notice things that are out of the ordinary. I learned this back in middle school, and now I'm ready to embrace it again. When I walk into class, everyone stops talking like someone flicks a switch, so I walk to my seat. While walking, I heard whispers saying, "He's wearing an ankle monitor, or is that the kid from that murder mystery that happened four years ago?" After hearing this, I could feel my anger boiling inside me. I was getting more and more pissed off, but I knew I had to stay calm. So, I took a deep breath and tried to collect myself, forcing the frustration to fade away. Gradually, I focused on staying composed instead of letting my emotions take over. When the class start the teacher asked if we could introduce ourselves to the class so one by one people started saying their names and what they liked to do when it was my turn I said with a calm and polite "hello everyone my name is Anton Sanchaz and it's very nice to be here today I like to just go fishing thank you." After I said that I nodded my head to show respect to everyone. Afterwards, everyone just did their own thing while I just stayed to myself after school I went home and Tia Emily made dinner for her and me, she was the only person who lived in Dexter so she was the only one who took care of me ever since the incident but she knows that I didn't kill my parents just the killer who did it i love my Tia and I will do anything just to make her proud of me.
