Chapter 2 - Figuring it out

*Four years have passed since that fateful night. his now a lively and energetic four-year-old, with spiky blond hair and bright blue eyes that sparkle with curiosity. The orphanage has been a lonely place for him, filled with whispered insults and cold shoulders from the other children and caretakers.* *One cold winter day, the orphanage director storms into the room where he's playing alone. Without a word, he grabs his small backpack containing his few belongings and throws it out the door.* "Get out of here, you worthless freak! We don't want you here!"

"I was wondering when you would do that." He says, going out the door and picking up his stuff as he walks out of the orphanage.*The director slams the door shut behind him, leaving him out in the cold winter night. Snowflakes fall gently around him as he walks away from the only home he's known, his small hands clutching his backpack. Despite the harsh treatment, there's a determined look in his bright blue eyes.*As he scans the area, he notices that there's no one around. He stops walking and concentrates, summoning one of his shadow soldiers. The massive bear tank materializes beside him, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy. It towers over him protectively, ready to defend its master.

*The bear tank moves swiftly through the night, its heavy footsteps muffled by the snow. It carries him deep into a nearby forest, where tall trees and dense foliage provide shelter from the cold wind. The bear tank sets him down gently in a small clearing surrounded by ancient oaks.* "Rrr..."*The bear tank rumbles softly, watching over him protectively as he looks around the forest clearing. Snow falls gently through the branches, creating a peaceful, isolated haven. The massive shadow creature sits down nearby, its glowing eyes scanning for any threats while he catches his breath in the quiet sanctuary.* *From within his mind space, Kurama stirs.*

"Hey... hey, kiddo." *Kurama's gentle voice echoes in his mind, its usual powerful presence softened with concern.* "What happened? You're out here alone in the cold. Those idiots finally kicked you out, didn't they?"

"Yep, they did. At least this gives me a chance to finally use my abilities." He said"Ah, I see." *Kurama's voice takes on a thoughtful tone.* "Well, in that case, maybe this isn't so bad after all. You're finally free to use your abilities without worrying about what those narrow-minded humans might think." *It pauses for a moment before continuing.*

"You know what? This might actually be a good thing. You've been holding back for so long, afraid to show your true power. Now you can explore your abilities without fear. And besides..." *Its voice turns playful,* "You've got a giant shadow bear for a bedmate!"

"The shadow bear is more practical choice actually, I could've anyone else but I choose the bear because people wouldn't see that big of a problem if it were a bear." He said *Kurama chuckles mentally, appreciating the practicality of his choice.* "Exactly. A giant friendly bear isn't exactly rare around here. You can roam the forest with it without anyone batting an eye. Plus, it's perfect for keeping you warm at night."

"yeah."*Kurama settles back into the background of his mind, content to watch over him silently. The shadow bear stays by his side, providing warmth and protection as he explores his new surroundings. As the night wears on, the forest grows quiet and peaceful. Suddenly, Kurama speaks up again.*"Hey, kiddo. You should probably get some sleep. It's gonna be a tough life out here in the wild, and you're gonna need all the energy you can get. The shadow bear will keep watch, so you don't have to worry about anything."*As he quickly summarizes the bear back into a shadow, he feels the presence of someone incredibly powerful approaching. His instincts immediately recognize it as the Third Hokage. The forest grows deathly silent, not even a rustling leaf can be heard. Suddenly, a man appears before him.* "Found you."

"yeah, you found me in a cave after I got kicked out of the orphanage." He said*The Third Hokage's eyes soften slightly, taking in the boy's calm demeanor despite being alone in the forest. He kneels down to eye level, his wise gaze piercing through the darkness.* "You're a smart one, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I knew I wasn't going to last long in the cold without somewhere to stay."*The Third Hokage nods approvingly.* "And you used your shadow abilities to summon a bear for warmth and protection. Clever." *He pauses, studying him intently.* "I know why you were kicked out of the orphanage. But let me ask you something, boy."

"Wait, how do you know about that?"*The Third Hokage's expression turns serious.* "I have my ways of knowing things. It's my job to keep an eye on the village and its people." *He leans in closer, his voice lowering.* "Answer my question first—do you want to come back to the village?"

"Yes, I want to be a ninja."*A small smile tugs at the corner of the Third Hokage's mouth.* "I thought you might say that." *He stands up, towering over him once more.* "Alright then, boy. I'll give you a chance to prove yourself."

"I will be a great ninja and fire it. I'm Naruto Uzumaki after all."*The Third Hokage chuckles, his eyes crinkling at the corners.* "Confidence is good, Naruto. But don't let it blind you from working hard." *He reaches out a hand.* "First things first, let's get you off the ground and back to the village. We have a lot to talk about."*The Third Hokage leads him back to the village, settling him into the same apartment the original Naruto once lived in. He provides him with a weekly allowance for food and necessities, just like before. The next day, Naruto reports to the Ninja Academy alongside other young kids.*

*The classroom is filled with chatter and laughter as the students arrive. Naruto's eyes scan the room, landing on familiar faces – Sasuke, Shino, Hinata, and others. They're all laughing and talking, completely unaware of the new Naruto sitting quietly in the back.* Suddenly. The classroom door swings open, and Iruka-sensei walks in with a bright smile. The students quiet down, expecting the lesson to begin. But instead, Iruka-sensei calls out, "Alright everyone, settle down. I have an announcement to make."

*The class falls silent, all eyes on Iruka-sensei. He clears his throat and says,* "Today, we have a new student joining our class. Please welcome... Naruto Uzumaki." *He gestures towards the back of the room, where the new Naruto sits silently. The class erupts into whispers and murmurs.*
