Chapter 6 - The useless ability of the prohphet

As Sammy and Kensei continued on their journey Kensei asked.

"Where are we going?"

Sammy replied with a smirk

"We are going to a small store to buy some clothes."

"Okay."

'Okay?... seriously though, he should asking questions like why are we going into a clothing store in the middle of the apocalypse'

"You really don't like asking questions huh?." Sammy asked.

"It's not like I don't like to, it's just I don't really want to disturb you." Kensei said

Sammy lets out a sigh and says.

"You don't need to worry about disturbing me unless I'm sleeping but if there's any emergencies you should definitely wake me up, so, ask away."

Kensei looks at Sammy and asks

"Why are we going to a clothing store?."

"Well the clothes are made of a special fibre that could allow you to survive more than 200 zombie bites, its bullet proof and it automatically regenerates."

Sammy answered to Kensei's question

Kensei looked at Sammy as more questions arised in his head and so he asked even more questions.

"Who made this? Why is it in such a small shop? How did they make this?"

Sammy stayed calm and answered in a single breath... somehow.

"A British guy made it and I don't know his name. The apocalypse started in the year 2030 actually it just slowly began at 2025 where the first creatures arose but it wasn't as much of a threat at the time and the zombies produced a liquid and when the liquid is used on plants it makes it a bit different like totally different and it would revolutionise technology as we know it.

So Japan was interested and bought them and then one day a British tailor got the idea of making clothes using the material from the plants and it took him 4 years as he needed a lot of money to get those but he was a talented tailor and very lucky.

He bought the material after staying in Japan for four years and after 6 months of perfecting it and experimenting with it for 5 more months he was ready to sell it but as luck would have it the apocalypse started a day after he sold his clothes that he made to sell to small stores across the state."

After the lengthy explanation Sammy held his knees and breathed heavily.

After hearing all of that Kensei said

"Okay." ...he really wasn't talkative

And soon the duo entered the store and took the clothes that Sammy said were made by the tailor and so they started changing clothes and Sammy thought to himself of how peaceful it was after he changed his clothes.

And henceforth in this peaceful land which has been already destroyed and turned into a living hell he decided to let his mind go lose and by doing so he reminded himself of how he got here, of how he had stepped into the small pond and then got sucked in the pond for what seemed like eternity but it really wasn't, after short while Sammy was holding the book in the very same pond which was said to be small but after being emerged in it he was for a real surprise as the water stretched farther than any pond he had seen and he could even breathe there like a fish!

It was really amusing to him.

He turned his eyes a bit back to look at Kensei as he was wearing new clothes.

Kensei had a black coat which seemed to be resilient against sword attacks at the very least and seemed to be quite useless in the snow as it was quite thin, oh and he had a black shirt and black pants.

As for Sammy he grabbed a blue shirt and some blackish pants. His blue shirt also had white buttons.

Sammy would have gotten a red shirt but it wasn't there plus the red sun in the sky made him want to not see red at all because the red sun made it so that day looks like the evening and the night blooming with its shiny moon.

Sammy had turned into a morning guy after he became a forest ranger but thankfully Sammy's edgy teenage years made him into a depressed loner who enjoyed the night and his mind hasn't adapted to his new body and its routines so he was quite happy you could say.

Kensei stopped moving for a second and asked Sammy.

"What are you?"

Sammy looked at Kensei and quickly realised that letting him kill the mantis and drain its blood had enhanced Kensei's abilities to an extent that hadn't been in the book and Sammy never expected this because he was more worried of the horrible things that were going to happen.

Anxiety was eating him alive but of course anxiety has to cook his food.

Sammy started sweating nervously as he wondered what Kensei was going to do after all Kensei spared him because he was human but what made Kensei say? That well fact No.4 of the book of story, he gets the average stats of whatever the majority of the species was and in this apocalyptic world Sammy didn't know what was the majority and he didn't really have time to check and so he asked Kensei.

"So... what the hell am I? That's your question right? Well to be honest I don't know, more importantly are you going to kill me?"

Kensei looked at Sammy and said to Sammy in a calm way that is.

"You seem to be able to control the temperature of your blood and the flow of it but nothing else makes sense because you don't have the other characteristics of a vampire i can say your not a vampire and nothing like these zombies, so maybe its because your a prophet of some sorts and no i won't kill you because of that after all im not human myself..."

'I see im in the clear but i should probably figure out what i am'

"Anyways i have a question for you prophet what does it mean to be human? other than the ability to control the flow of your blood and temperature, oh and your complicated prophet ability you are still pretty much human."

'The same could be said about you although i guess you have way more abilities that seem inhumane'

Sammy looked at Kensei and he knew that he could tell an answer that one of the characters said previously in the story but he didn't want to so he looked at the sky.

It was night time the best time for the creatures that hunt in the night but it was the calmest time for Sammy who hates the evenings.

Sammy looked at Kensei and decided to explain it using a metaphor because Sammy didn't know himself how to explain humanity afterall he knows how cruel and evil they can be and also how kind and caring humans are.

"You see the stars above, there are many that float in the endless river of space, some glow brighter than others and some glow a bit darker but none the less they are all stars."

Hmm... What he meant was that humans are both kind and cruel but nonetheless they are humans whether evil or good.

After hearing Sammy's kind of complicated metaphor for how humans work Kensei looked at him and asked.

"I see." Kensei said partially understanding what Sammy said

"Well what do you think about humanity?" Sammy asked trying to guess Kensei's answer

"I don't know what humanity is, I'm not completly human."

Kensei answered Sammy and kept staring at him.

"Stultus."

"Sorry what did you say mr.prophet?"

Sammy sighed and thought to himself.

'What an idiot... truly a stultus indeed'

"Er... nothing buddy and you can stop at the formalities."

"What forma-." Kensei was interrupted by Sammy.

"Anyways, I take it you pledge loyalty towards me?."

"Absoulutly." Kensei answered

Sighing with happiness Sammy turned back to Kensei and said in an utmost calming way.

"Let's take a break and try sleeping for once?"

"Okay." Kensei responded

And so they walked for a bit more and found a building that had some decent cover from other creatures and Sammy laid down on a wall and decided to simply sleep while sitting and Kensei slept as soon as he relaxed all his muscles his body went limp and he closed his eyes completely as expected as Sammy knew that this would happen.

Sammy soon closed his eyes and slept...

But as soon as he closed his eyes and waited to go in a short slumber, he hadn't realised he already was in a slumber but when he realised he was already sleeping he wondered if he was dreaming about sleeping because all he could see was darkness but then a spark of light at the end of sight appeared it was star, glowing star and a ridiculously small one at that it had a green glow and a nice hum.

Then the dream ended and Sammy woke up to a brand new day in an apocalyptic world filled with monsters of all kinds. As the red sun glowed making the brightest days look like the lamest evenings which Sammy still hated. Sammy sat there for quite a while shivering against the cold breeze.

'It would have been nice to make a fir- wait I can just adjust the temperature of my blood so I shouldn't be able to catch a cold that easily...' and so he did. It was quite warm

Sammy was in deep thought for exactly 5 seconds because he remembered something about the will of zombies in the book and how they are not crazy strong or fast they just have insane will to keep going even when out of stamina and how they can't regenerate unless ■■■■■ has granted its blessings to it and the only real thing it could do was adapt a bit to escape humans and then eat them but the zombies to this time had adapted only so much.

"So I'm almost completly... useless... haha... this is not funny at all."

Sammy spoke in a very sluggish and tired voice as he thought of all the things he had to do and he was worried about how much time had passed in his own world.

"Danish won't mind if i go missing for a couple years won't he?"

'I really hope he doesn't mind'

Sammy thought as an awkward smile formed from his face as he thought of ways to explain what happened to him and at the end of all that he stood up prepared to go somewhere out of the five destinations he planned.

He waited for Kensei to wake up and when he finally did Sammy asked him impatiently.

"Where do you think we should go first?

South Korea,Antarctica,Europe and North America"

Being asked by this question Kensei asked by this question Kensei replied with a question.

"Why specifically these places?"

"First they provide various problems in which we can solve to get stronger plus additional rewards and we can recruit more people to help us save the world but each of these places gives us major problems due to us not really being humans." But Sammy is not that inhuman compared to Kensei

Sammy said, answering the question.

"Then shouldn't you make the decision since you are a prophet and can know the future, hence you can choose the best possible outcome."

Kensei had made a very valid statement but the reason Sammy asked Kensei in the first place was because all of these places had many difficulties as for korea it was the vice captain of the base who was very dangerous, for europe well the ruler of that place who proclaims he is a king is very interested in experimenting with anything even things like vampires and prophets, for North America they have a good and dangerous skeleton and for antarctica its just that there is a creature worthy of being a deity.

"Okay then i made up my mind let's just go to South Korea since it's close."

Kensei nodded and followed Sammy as both of them walked, under the red star or more commonly known by the survivors as the evening star due to its presence making the days look like evenings.

"Actually theres one last thing i need from japan although we will be taking a detour."

Sammy said while resuming the walk and looking at Kensei.

"Right... but don't you need food but more importantly water."

Kensei asked Sammy worried about how he would even survive the long trip to Korea.

"For food we can eat the animals since the place we are going has a wide forest with all kinds of animals that have not mutated due to the blood of the zombies and radioactive material and there's a lake which somehow has super clean water and the apocalypse hasn't done it any damage at all so we should hurry up before i die of thirst."

"Very well i shall make a blood bike which we can go on although the zombies might smell the blood and run towards us, but the blood bike is much faster."
