I struggled not to make a sound when the person behind me suddenly pulled me back. But I bumped into the bush beside me, so that probably made a noise they could hear.
The one who pulled me toward him was Kayra. I couldn't hide my surprise when I saw him, yet he didn't hesitate for a second and immediately began leading me away from there.
We walked quickly but carefully for several meters. I kept looking over my shoulder, yet he didn't seem to need to. He moved forward with steady, confident steps.
I spotted a few servants nearby, panic rose in me, but he only tightened his grip on my hand and kept going. It was as if he were silently telling me to trust him.
After escaping like that for a while, we entered an old storage building. The door was already open, it was most likely the gardener's shed. He stepped inside, pulled me in after him, and shut the door. The wood creaked loudly, but he didn't seem to care. He turned to me immediately.
