Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Li Chuan's Warning

"Good, only one."

Grant scanned his surroundings, secretly sighing in relief.

If four or five more like the one just now had appeared, he might not have been able to escape today.

Without any wasted words, he immediately launched a full-power assault, every move aimed at vital points, striving to take down the burly man in front of him as quickly as possible.

However, to his dismay, the opponent's skill far exceeded his imagination; his every attack was easily neutralized by the opponent.

"Good moves, no wonder you could take down two of my men."

Li San used both hands to block Grant's attack, stepped forward, and with a swing of his arm, like a clap of thunder, he struck Grant's chest.

"Old Bear Crashes into Tree!"

Li San's martial arts were personally taught by Li Chuan, specifically the Bear Form from the Twelve Forms of Xingyi.

The essence of the mountain spirit, the bear guards the cave; two palms protect the body as the eagle and bear contend. The Bear Form is the most powerful among the Twelve Forms; in terms of pure damage, once hit, it inflicts more harm than the Dragon Form and Tiger Form.

Grant, a top-tier combat expert, was sent flying by Li San's collision, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He stumbled several times on the ground before barely managing to stand up again.

Too strong, too strong. He had executed so many missions and encountered so many experts, but this was the first time he had met someone so formidable.

"Unfortunately, I am an Agent, and my strength isn't just in combat!"

Knowing that hand-to-hand combat was definitely not an option against the man in front of him, Grant reached for the pistol at his waist and aimed it at Li San.

Using a firearm in a residential area might have some repercussions for him later, but clearly, this was not the time to worry about that.

"I advise you to put down that thing in your hand, or don't blame me if you get shot in the head."

Li San saw Grant draw his pistol, his expression not at all flustered; instead, he showed a mocking look.

Grant's face stiffened at the words, and he slowly lowered his pistol.

Because he had already detected two infrared sights aimed at him, one at his head and one at his heart.

It turned out that the snipers in the residential area had adjusted their positions, bringing the area where Li San and Grant were fighting within range.

At this moment, seven or eight burly men in security uniforms also rushed over, surrounding Grant.

"Take him away!"

Li San snorted coldly. Several burly men stepped forward, disarmed all of Grant's equipment, and escorted him towards the pre-renovated interrogation room in the residential area.

"Ding-dong!"

Hearing the notification sound from his phone on the bedside table, Li Chuan slowly opened his eyes and reached for his phone.

"They've already made a move on the first day; HYDRA Agents really have no patience."

Seeing the report sent by Li San, Li Chuan carefully moved Wanda's fair arm and leg that were draped over him.

He quietly got up and left his room, led by two security guards who were already waiting at the door, and arrived at the residential area's interrogation room.

"Boss, he's very stubborn, didn't say anything, said he wants to talk to you personally."

Upon seeing Li Chuan enter the room, Li San stepped forward and reported respectfully.

Li Chuan waved his hand, indicating it was fine. Dressed in pajamas, he sat on a nearby chair, yawned, and looked at the already bruised and swollen Grant, smiling:

"I am Li Chuan. Speak, who are you, and what do you intend to do by infiltrating the residential area?"

Grant looked up at Li Chuan. Although he was covered in injuries, his tone was very calm:

"My name is Grant Ward, an Agent of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. I infiltrated the residential area today to carry out a secret mission.

Your actions have interfered with my mission. Please release me immediately."

"What mission, to kill me? Or kidnap me?"

Li Chuan raised an eyebrow.

Grant shook his head:

"I cannot disclose the specific mission, but it has nothing to do with you. This is a misunderstanding."

Li Chuan reached out and took a pistol from Li San's hand, pointing it at Grant's head:

"You can choose not to speak, but your head will soon be blown open. Don't worry, this room is very soundproof; no one outside will hear the gunshot."

"Alright, I'll tell you, though this violates regulations. My target is a person named Paige on the sixth floor of building eight. His true identity might be a Terrorist, and I need to infiltrate his home to collect some intelligence."

Grant's expression was serious, showing no sign of lying.

In fact, he was indeed openly carrying out this mission. This was a S.H.I.E.L.D. dispatch mission orchestrated by John Garrett in advance; if truly investigated, there would be no issues.

Li Chuan turned to look at Li San, who replied:

"Our investigation shows that Paige is just an unemployed hooligan."

"That's just his superficial identity."

Grant replied indifferently.

Paige was indeed an unemployed hooligan, even with several criminal records, but starting yesterday, he became a Terrorist, and a Terrorist who had vanished into thin air.

Li Chuan nodded. He truly admired the meticulousness of these HYDRA Agents; no wonder they could turn S.H.I.E.L.D. into an empty shell.

"The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, a large international organization established by Captain America's girlfriend Peggy Carter and Tony Stark's father, Howard Stark.

Oh, you might not know, but Tony and I are good friends.

The former Director Alexander Pierce, the current Director Nick Fury. Am I right?"

"How do you know all this?"

Hearing Li Chuan's words, Grant's pupils constricted.

According to his information, Li Chuan was just a very wealthy businessman from Sokovia, at most with some shady dealings behind the scenes.

The incredibly powerful bodyguard team today had already surprised him, but he hadn't expected the other party to know so much about S.H.I.E.L.D. and even know Tony Stark. He was clearly not as simple as the information suggested.

"I know who you are, and I know who is behind you. You didn't come here today to find some Terrorist, but it's alright, I can overlook it this time.

But when you go back, tell the person behind you not to bother me again, or I won't be as polite as I am today; he will die a very ugly death!"

Li Chuan's eyes instantly turned cold, and the powerful aura pressed down on Grant, making him feel as if he could barely breathe.

"Alright, don't treat our guest like this. Bandage his wounds and release him. Also, get him something to eat on the way back; he must be hungry by now.

I'll go back and catch up on some sleep. Tomorrow, I still have to visit my new company."

After giving the warning, Li Chuan stood up and yawned again, then leisurely left the interrogation room.

Meanwhile, Grant's mind was in a haze; he had been completely bewildered by Li Chuan's words just now.

In the end, he could only pretend not to understand and replied:

"I don't know what you're talking about."
