Chapter 48 - Pages Never Read

( PH2)

The diary felt heavier than it should.

Anie sat quietly on her bed the room was still.her fingers rested on the cover.

"…Sam…"

A name she thought she understood.

But didn't not completely she opened the diary.

A soft sound dry pages shifting and slowly the past began to breathe again.

[Diary Entry — Sam] :

I don't know why I'm writing this.

The handwriting was clean careful .

Maybe because Anie never lets me finish talking.

a small pause,

Or maybe… I just want to keep something for later.

Anie's lips moved slightly almost a smile.

[Flashback]

Sunlight poured into the classroom warm bright alive.

"Anie, you're late again."

Sam leaned back in her chair arms crossed smirking Anie dropped into the seat beside her.

"You could've waited."

"I did."

"For two minutes.","That's not waiting."

"That's patience.",

"You don't have patience." Sam laughed.

"Exactly."

The conversation flowed easily light

effortless.like it always did later, they walked through the corridor.students passing ooices overlapping.

"Did you study for tomorrow?"Anie asked Sam shrugged.

"I thought about studying."

"That doesn't count."

"It should.""It doesn't." Sam smiled again.carefree unbothered.

[Diary Entry — Sam] :

Today was normal,

a simple line,,Nothing special.

a pause.

But I like days like this.

[Flashback Continues] :,

Afternoon.

they sat near the window wind moved the curtains slightly.Sam rested her chin on her hand looking outside.

"…Anie." "Hmm?"

"You ever feel like time is going too fast?"Anie frowned slightly,

"Sometimes."Sam nodded,,

"…like something's going to change."

a small pause,"…soon."

Anie looked at her,

"What kind of change?"Sam hesitated,

then she shrugged.

"Don't know."

"Then why say it?"Sam smiled again,

"Because it feels real."the moment passed like it didn't matter.

[Diary Entry — Sam]

I think I'm just overthinking again.

The writing was still neat.

Anie would say that if she read this.

a small pause.

She's probably right.

Anie's fingers tightened slightly on the page.because she remembered saying that more than once.

[Flashback]

Evening,Sam walking alone nothing unusual.nothing strange just a quiet street a normal day ending.

but she slowed down slightly just for a second.her eyes shifted nehind her

nothing.

She stared a moment longer then

looked forward again.

"…weird…" she muttered and kept walking.

[Diary Entry — Sam]

It's nothing.

The words were simple.

Just a feeling. a pause,

Right?

Anie stopped her breath slowed because that line didn't feel simple anymore.

the page ended there no explanation

no continuation.just that question.

Anie's hand hovered over the next page.but she didn't turn it not yet,

because something inside her felt it clearly now.this wasn't where it started.

This was just where she began to notice.
