Chapter 22 - Ch 22 Demonic bear

Meanwhile, Li Xuan, Li Ming, Elder Li Shuying, and some members of the scouting party moved silently through the underbrush, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of beasts. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves, and the sound of birds chirping echoed through the forest, mingling with the rustling of leaves.

Li Xuan, look at this," Elder Li Shuying said, his voice low and urgent, as he pointed to a nearby tree. "This is a marking from a demonic beast. It's recent, too, the sap is still wet."

Li Xuan frowned, his eyes narrowing as he examined the marking, his hand on the hilt of his sword. "This is a bear, I think. The markings are similar to those of a normal bear, but there's something... off about it."

Li Ming nodded, his face serious, as he looked around cautiously. "I've seen markings like this before. It's a demonic bear, I'm sure of it."

Elder Li Shuying nodded, his face grim, as he looked at Li Ming with a serious expression. "We need to be careful, the demonic bear is likely to be nearby, and it may have friends with it."

As they searched for signs of the demonic bear, the group continued to discuss their strategy, their voices low and urgent, their movements swift and silent. They knew that they were getting close to their quarry, and they were ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.

Meanwhile, Li Jingwen and Elder Li Guozhang led a group of clan members as they rechecked the periphery of the hunting party, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows across the forest floor, and the air was filled with the sounds of the forest, the chirping of birds, and the rustling of leaves.

"Elder Li Guozhang, I've checked the perimeter, and everything seems clear," Li Jingwen said, his voice low and serious, as he looked at Li Guozhang with a nod.

Elder Li Guozhang nodded, his face serious, as he looked around cautiously. "Good, but let's not get complacent. Demonic beasts are cunning, they'll often try to flank us or attack from a blind spot."

Li Jingwen nodded, his face grim, as he looked at Li Guozhang with a serious expression. "I'll make sure to keep an eye on the flanks, Elder. We can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a moment."

As they continued to check the perimeter, the group discussed their strategy, their voices low and urgent, their movements swift and silent. They knew that they were vulnerable to attack, and they were determined to do everything in their power to protect the hunting party.

The sun continued to set, casting a golden glow over the forest, and the air grew cooler, filled with the sounds of the forest, the chirping of birds, and the rustling of leaves. The hunting party continued to move forward, their senses on high alert, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.

The sun had set, casting a dark and foreboding shadow over the forest, and the hunting party had set up camp, their torches lighting up the darkness like fireflies in the night. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves, and the sound of distant growling echoed through the forest, sending shivers down the spines of even the bravest warriors. Li Jian, his sons Li Ming, Li Feng, and Li Xuan, the elders, and the squad leaders gathered around a large stone, their faces lit up by the flickering flames of the torches, their eyes serious and concerned.

"Li Jian, we need to be careful," Elder Li Shuying said, his voice low and urgent, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a practiced gaze. "The growling we've been hearing sounds like it's getting closer, and I don't think it's just one beast."

Li Jian nodded, his face grim, his eyes narrowed in concentration. "I agree, Elder. We need to set up a guard and make sure everyone is accounted for. We can't afford to have anyone caught off guard."

Li Ming, Li Jian's eldest son, spoke up, his voice confident and steady. "I'll take the first watch, Father. I've been feeling restless all day, and I could use the exercise."

Li Jian nodded, his eyes crling at the corners. "Alright, Li Ming. Li Yuxin, you'll join him. Make sure you stay alert and keep an eye out for anything suspicious."

Li Feng, Li Jian's youngest son, looked up at his father with a curious expression. "Father, what's going on?"

Li Jian placed a reassuring hand on Li Feng's shoulder. "Just a precaution, Li Feng. We need to be careful, that's all."

As the elders and squad leaders continued to discuss their plans, Li Yuxin and Li Ming stood guard, their eyes scanning the darkness for any signs of movement. Li Xuan and Li Feng stood nearby, their swords at the ready, their faces serious and alert.

Suddenly, Li Ming heard a growl, low and menacing, and he saw two large red pupils staring back at him, like lanterns in the darkness. He reacted quickly, drawing his sword and setting up a defensive position, his heart racing with excitement and fear.

"Li Yuxin, it's here," he whispered, his voice low and urgent, as he looked at Li Yuxin with a serious expression.

Li Yuxin nodded, her face grim, as she drew her sword and set up a defensive position alongside Li Ming. "Sound the alarm," she whispered, her voice low and urgent, as she looked around the camp.

Li Ming nodded, his face determined, as he let out a loud whistle, alerting the rest of the camp to the danger. The sound of swords being drawn and the rustling of clothing filled the air, as the hunting party quickly got into formation, their eyes scanning the darkness for any signs of movement.

Li Jian, the elders, and the rest of the hunting party rushed to the scene, their faces lit up by the flickering flames of the torches, their eyes serious and concerned.

"What's happening?" Li Jian asked, his voice low and urgent, as he looked at Li Ming and Li Yuxin with a serious expression.

"A bear, Clan Head," Li Ming said, his voice low and urgent, as he pointed to the darkness. "It's a demonic bear, I'm sure of it."

Li Jian nodded, his face grim, as he looked at the darkness with a practiced gaze. "Get the torches ready," he said, his voice low and urgent, as he drew his sword. "We're going to need them."

As the hunting party prepared for battle, the demonic bear emerged from the darkness, its eyes glowing red like embers, its massive body towering over the trees, its fur matted and twisted, like a creature from a nightmare. The air was thick with tension, and the sound of the bear's growling echoed through the forest, making the hairs on the back of their necks stand on end.

Li Jian and the hunting party stood ready, their swords at the ready, their eyes fixed on the demonic bear, their hearts pounding with excitement and fear. The battle was about to begin, and only time would tell who would emerge victorious.
