The figure remained unresponsive, just standing there gazing at Cole with eyes that seemed to pierce his soul.
His eyes scanned Cole, looking down at him, the way one will gaze at an object.
Seeing he won't be getting any response from the person across from him, Cole decided to take things into his own hands.
He rushed blindly towards him, ready to throw some hands; he launched a punch straight at the figure's body.
The man didn't bother dodging, nor did he block; he stood there and allowed Cole's punch to hit him.
Seeing his punch connect, Cole's eyes grew more frenzied as he began raining more punches on the figure.
Through all of this the figure didn't even flinch; he stood strong in place, his eyes seemingly disappointed.
Cole was quite shocked by the turn of events as he could even feel his own knuckles hurting badly, he decided to switch up.
Cole was about to send a kick towards the man this time, but his kick met nothing but air.
A shiver ran down his spine as he heard a voice behind him.
"Now it's my turn," the man said quietly.
Cole's mind went into hyper mode thinking of plans to escape his situation, but he couldn't find anything.
"Bamm!" A chop hit Cole behind his head, knocking him unconscious directly.
****Ten Minutes ago****
"This boy seems to be losing his composure; I thought he was more mature."
"Guess I was wrong."
"I have to stop him before he does something stupid."
****Present time****
The man looked down at Cole and said quietly, "This is for the best."
He then tied up Cole before picking him up and headed towards a window; without wasting time, he directly jumped off and began sprinting towards an unknown location.
After about five minutes of sprinting, the man arrived in front of a dilapidated building.
He looked around cautiously before directly entering the building.
He roughly threw Cole to the ground before heading to sit about two meters away.
The force of the impact seemed to jolt Cole back awake; he cautiously looked around, his eyes finally landing on the man again.
Cole wasn't deterred by earlier force; instead, the man displayed
"Let me go, you coward; I will show you guys," he barked out.
The man still sat there calmly staring at Cole for a while before suddenly saying,
"If I let you go now, what do you plan on doing?"
"I will make you guys pay for all you have done," Cole shouted.
"And how do you plan on doing that?"
"Do you really think those weak guards you met are actually Doctor Thomas's guards?"
"Hahahahaha, you amuse me."
"If that was the case, why hasn't the government gotten hold of him since?"
"Don't be dumb and think about it, think, kid."
"Is it actually possible for a man that oversees projects like that to be weak?"
"In a world ruled by the strong" The man berated harshly.
The man's words kept striking at Cole's heart, every word making him frown deeper and deeper.
"Is my enemy really that unsurpassable? Is it really hopeless?" Cole thought inwardly.
He couldn't seem to accept the fact that his chance of revenge was currently almost zero.
"You better never let me go then cause I will haunt you all till I die" Cole said furiously.
"Hahaha, bold words kid, I hope you have the spine to back it up" The man replied.
Cole kept on aggressively screaming at the man but the man remained calm and retorted.
"If you actually want to get strong enough I have a way to help you" The man said after a while.
"Like I will accept anything from you," Cole said.
"I am not your enemy kid, I don't work for Doctor Thomas, I will even say I am an ally"
Cole kept staring skeptically at the man not saying a single word while Lost in his thoughts.
"He really doesn't act like he works for Doctor Thomas,"
"Who is he then and what does he want?"
He went through his mind but he still couldn't seem to find an answer to his question.
"If you actually want to get stronger, check under your bed, you will find a pot of gold".
" Haahahaa" his laughter rang out before suddenly fading as the man completely vanished before Cole's eyes.
Cole was left alone in the building, his tied up body laying flat on the ground.
He struggled for a while but he just couldn't get the rope off his body, after about ten minutes of fruitless effort Cole decided to give up.
Seeing no hope for escape in a while, Cole decided to do what he had to forcefully stop earlier.
He began absorbing Life energy using the World Absorbing Mantra but this time Cole tried his best to reduce the effect so as to not attract attention.
"I can't be brazen anymore, a lot is at stake now" Cole thought.
The man's words still ring deeply in his head, giving him a new outlook on things.
He continued absorbing Life energy quietly until he abruptly heard footsteps from the entrance of the building.
"Did they find me?" Cole thought as beads of sweat began forming on his head.
