"Are we heading to the bank?" Kevin asked as he turned the steering wheel.
"The ATM is enough," Celine replied. "The account is already active online. I just need to verify it and deposit this cash."
"Got it," Kevin said shortly. He increased his speed, guiding them toward a bank with drive-thru services.
Celine worked quickly. Her fingers moved nimbly across the machine's buttons as she fed the stack of dollar bills into the deposit slot. As the machine whirred to count the money, Celine leaned back against the car seat and let out a long breath.
When the receipt finally printed, she exhaled again. A weight lifted from her shoulders. She finally had the funds saved for her escape from Leo.
"Done, Kevin. Let's head back to the hospital," Celine requested.
Without further questions, Kevin drove back toward the facility where his sister, Kelly, was waiting.
"I found out who bought your parents' house," Kevin said, his eyes fixed on the road.
