Chapter 36 - "White Dog Spirit"

So weird. Take another look— still weird!

As expected of the system.

But no matter how much Castra despised the mission's strange requirements, he still had to go!

-100 Spirit Coins

"Wuwuwu, There goes my money." Castra wiped off his tears dramatically as he used the portal for the second time.

"Portal! To the Beast Paradise!"

Spirit World, Beast Paradise

"Ouch! You rude Portal spirit!!" Castra touched his b*tt as he put up a middle finger at the Portal Spirit.

What kind of seller would be so rude to their customers?!

"This is why monopoly is bad!"

Just because this Portal is the only spirit that could do a massal long-distance teleportation, it's being cocky.

Hmph!

Nevermind.

"Now, is there public transportation..."

Castra waved his hand and coincidentally, a carriage pulled by a horse spirit passed by and stopped right in front of Castra.

"Hie, hie, do you need a Carri, sir?" The horse spoke politely, even bending his front leg.

Ah! A Carri! A magic world version of Uber or Taxi!

Castra immediately jumped into the small carriage with smiles all over his face.

"Yes, yes, I need a Carri, but I don't have a specific destination. Just help me find a white dog spirit."

After all, most low-level dog spirits didn't even have a specific gathering place like the low-level cat spirits.

"Aye aye, sir~ "

The horse spirit didn't mind going around to find a white dog spirit as long as the money was in place, so Castra found the dog spirit in no time.

Castra came at the right time because the dog spirit had just pooped!

Is this the power of a 3-star luck? Omg!!

"Lucky~ " Castra happily collected the poop even though he shed tears and sneezed all the time.

Hohoho, the second mission is so easy!

But then, the moment Castra collected the white dog spirit's poop, a familiar system notification popped up.

DUNG! [This is not the *beep* we are looking for!]

[But no worries, you have collected 1 Fecal Coin.]

...huh? What the hell?

The poop he just collected didn't count as a poop of a white dog spirit?!

Castra was so shocked, not to mention the poop expert Dudu.

He could feel Castra's thoughts and emotions, thus, the little dung beetle waved its tweezers in shock.

Dudu: Duuuu? Duduuuu?? ヽ(。◕o◕。)ノ

What's wrong with this poop? It's definitely the poop of a white dog!

Dudu could guarantee it with his precious poop on the line!

"Look, even Dudu said that this is indeed a white dog spirit's poop!"

Castra mumbled as he complained to Poo, but Poo actually tilted his head and blinked innocently.

[Ah? But all final interpretations belong to the system, nyo (・∀・)]

If the system said this white dog isn't what they're looking for, then it isn't!

Castra's lips twitched violently.

Haha. What a deja Vu.

[Okay, okay, so where do I find the *beep* that the system want? You should at least give me a coordinate or something!]

This mission is even more vague than the orange cat one, ah!

[Okay, okay, a little hint for my dearie host~ If an orange cat is actually a tiger in disguise, maybe a dog spirit is also a wolf in disguise, nyooo ( ╹▽╹ ) ]

…that makes sense.

Though he still didn't understand why Garfin would cosplay as a cat and even lived with a bunch of low-level cat spirits.

Wait, don't tell him the dog spirit was actually a high-level spirit too, just like Garfin?

Would that be dangerous??

Castra was reluctant to find this dangerous being, but he still had to do the mission, so he asked the Carri driver.

"Driver, do you know where I can find white wolves?"

The horse immediately swayed its tail and neighed,

"Hie, hie, there's only a few white wolves in the Beast Paradise and they all gathered at the Fer Snow Mountain, hie."

"It's quite far from our location but you just need to pay me 100 Spirit Coins and we will arrive in less than an hour, hie!"

Castra could hear the sound of his coins disappearing.

-100 Coins

"Ugh...another expense. But okay, let's go to the Fer Snow Mountain."

"Aye, aye, sir!"

The horse immediately ran on all four legs and rushed towards a distant place in the Beast Paradise.

In no time, the surroundings changed from humanoid residences for pet-type beast spirits to wilderness.

The carriage passed through the dense rain forests, mountains and plains, heading towards the North.

At one time, the sky slowly darkened, the surroundings changed from dense rainforest trees to pine trees with sparse leaves.

Soon, the temperature dropped sharply and snow fell from the sky.

As soon as the snow started to fall, the sight of the undulating white mountains came into view.

The white mountains spanned for miles, seemingly endless, looking like a gigantic wall that separated the world.

Most of the mountain peaks were hidden in the clouds, but Castra still saw the peak of a few smaller mountains.

Hum? Wait, how come those peaks look like...Garfin's ears?

And that special mountain, the biggest one among other mountains at the center of the mountain range...

From afar, the snow looked like...fur?

Ah. It must be an illusion.

Castra put away his thoughts and stared at the distant mountains until fifteen minutes later, the carriage stopped at the foot of the biggest mountain.

"Hie, hie, we are here, hie. To enter the mountain, you need to buy a ticket and once you're in, don't provoke the native spirits, hie~ "

"Okay, I get it, thank you."

Castra slowly went down the carriage and the cold wind immediately pierced his skin and bones.

"Achoo!" Castra sneezed and subconsciously hugged his bare chest.

A few small beast spirits at the foot of the mountain saw Castra's half-naked appearance and they all whispered in astonishment,

Snow rabbit: "Wow, what a brave warrior. He must be here for cold resistance training!"

Snow bird: "Yeah, yeah. If he's not here for training, then either he's an idiot or a perverted exhibitionist!"

The horse spirit heard the spirits' chatters and he immediately reminded Castra,

"Sir, sir, you can rent a set of warm clothing when you buy the ticket fee, hie. This mountain is so cold that many visitors freeze to death, hie!"

Castra could only nod at the horse, unable to speak because his teeth were already chattering non-stop!

Ahhh! He had to find warm clothes asap!!

Castra paid the horse spirit a sum of money and rushed to the post station at the foot of the mountain.

Without thinking much, Castra first bought a pure white fluffy coat.

-100 Spirit Coins

There goes his entire savings.

Castra certainly didn't have money to buy the ticket fee, but the locals enthusiastically gave him a job.

"I see that you're a shoveler spirit! Just shovel the snow on this road until it's all clean and we will give you a free ticket!"

Thus, Castra sold his body for the ticket and after finishing his labor, he could finally enter the mountain.

What Castra didn't know is that, the moment he stepped foot into the mountain, a certain being deep in the mountain sniffed the air curiously.

"Huh, this smell...that stinky cat is here?"
