Chapter 20 - The Death is an Lost Love

With the sunset lit in the rearview mirror, Natasha's face clear in the glass watching the image of Andrew lying there, covered in a red fleece blanket.

Natasha's face with a slight cut on her lips.

"Hey, it's going to be okay. — Xavier said holding Natasha's hands

Andrew opens his eyes and is faced with the scene, with a look of sadness.

He goes back to bed.

"I know, but these dark times have me worried. Natasha sighed.

"We're going to find a cure for this pain. Xavier said. — I promise.

Natasha reaches out and places her hands on Xavier's shoulder. Giving a slight smile, the girl laid her head back on the car seat, closing her eyes.

The car followed the path, already dusk. After a few hours, the buildings appeared. Xavier parked, got out and helped Natasha with Andrew.

— Where are we? asked Natasha.

"In a hotel, where I once stayed, a few years ago. said Xavier

"Good, we need to rest.— — said Natasha

We went up in the elevator, Andrew remained with his eyes closed, Xavier noticed Natasha's expression, she was worried, but at the same time relieved that he was fine, it was clear.

"You two are cute!— Xavier exclaimed.

"Thanks, I really care about him a lot. As much as sometimes it doesn't seem like it, I blame my lack of attention and anxiety on looking perfect all the time.

But the reality is that it's falling apart and dying a little bit. — reflected Natasha

"You're not just gorgeous, you're perfect as hell. said Xavier

"Wow, I thought a bad word was going to come out bro.— Natasha said, punching Xavier in the shoulder.

"Not in front of a lady.— — Xavier smiled

— Lady? I'm a warrior baby! Natasha snapped.

— But she's still a girl who is simply too much and at the same time delicate, you know your way, girl! Xavier exclaimed.

"You're so nice and kind, it makes me sick. — laughed Natasha "Oh you know it's my way. Xavier explained.

The elevator opened on the twelfth floor, on the top floor. A long luxurious apartment, with a piano in the middle of the room.

"Wow, it's so wonderful. —said Natasha

"Looks like we got it right.— said Xavier

"Let's put Andrew in one of those rooms. — I talk

We went there, turned on the light. We lay him down on the bed, take off his shoes. I placed a glass of water on the headboard beside her.

— Take a rest. Natasha said, running her hands through his hair.

Xavier arrived and stood to the side, behind Natasha. Looking at her, gripping her shoulders. She turns and faces him. He holds out his palm and leads the girl into the room.

We sat at the piano next to each other, I asked Natasha if she could play the piano. She replied no.

"I'm a little rusty. But yes, as a child I played in the choir of the Catholic church, Sagrado Coração de Jesus. — I say

"It should be divine. said Xavier

"Let's see if I still remember.— — said Natasha

Natasha placed her fingers on the piano keys and began to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

Natasha's eyes floated across the piano as the moonlight kissed Natasha's face. Xavier was delighted when she started to sing.

— When the light goes out, the flame of hope arises

Accelerated beats recur in my heart.

To the sound of this song. I sing with my afflicted soul, I run through the trees of the interstellar and dark abyss of cold challenges.

That angelic voice echoed through the room as I listened enchanted.

Once she finished playing, she looked at me seriously. And he looked me in my eyes.

What it was? Natasha asked with a smile.

"That was beautiful!— Xavier exclaimed.

Oh thanks. I usually don't say that kind of thing. — said Natasha

Xavier smiled and hugged Natasha. In the distance leaning against the wall with his hand on the wall Andrew watched the scene, a little sad.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I noticed Andrew standing, I pulled away from Xavier and ran towards Andrew.

"Andrew, what are you doing standing up?— asked Natasha.

"I heard you sing, then I woke up. Andrew said, coughing a little.

Natasha helped Andrew back to bed. Then she faced him as he slept, running her hands through his hair.

"Let's get out of this, soon enough.— whispered Natasha.

Lying down next to Andrew, Natasha falls asleep quickly, while in the distance a creature watched the building, in the darkness with eyes as red as blood.

In the middle of the night, Natasha wakes up with a start when she hears a dark howl. There was a storm raging across the city. She gets up and looks to the side and sees Andrew fast asleep in peaceful sleep, wrapped in his flowery duvet.

I get out of bed, fixing my disheveled hair, I look in the mirror and see that the ends of my hair were dry, I look for a pair of scissors in the drawers. After a while I find it in the second drawer in front of the mirror.

At that moment Xavier appears, standing beside Natasha and takes the scissors from her hands.

"Let me cut it, so I don't cause a disaster.— said Xavier

— And what do you mean by haircut? — I ask

"I have three sisters, they basically made me cut their hair. But I kind of loved it. I have good motor coordination. Xavier replied. "That comforts me a little. — I answer

The blade of the scissors when touching each other made a cutting sound,

Natasha closed her eyes and said:

"Only two fingers.

All good. Xavier replied.

Natasha bit her lower lip lightly, as soon as Xavier cut the first corner, Natasha exclaimed:

"You know what, I want to cut it to shoulder length!— Xavier looked surprised.

He is sure? Xavier asked.

— Yes, I need to discover a new style.

But it wasn't just that, it was an act of rebellion. My hair has always meant a docile and fragile side of me. Always the good, kind Natasha, but this was different. Something awakened in me. A new era.

As my hair slowly fell, a layer of weights lifted from my shoulders. A lightness of rarefied air filled my lungs. My breathing was getting slower.

"Okay, I'm done.— — Finished Xavier

I open my eyes and look at myself in the mirror, Xavier tosses my hair forward.

What do you think? Xavier asked.

My eyes sparkled when I looked at myself in the mirror, that was the person I had become. I lift my hands and ruffle my hair, running them slowly.

I am different. But in a good way. — smiled Natasha

"Thanks, I was a little nervous.— said Xavier

"Nothing, it was perfect.— I thank you for being such a nice friend. — said Natasha

Xavier smiles broadly, standing behind Natasha and resting his hands on her shoulders.

"Actually, it looks really good on you.— Now you can stop tying your hair in that awful ponytail. said Xavier

— No way, horrible is your past, silly. — smiled Natasha Xavier laughed.

But suddenly Natasha's eyes filled with tears and she sat down in the chair. Destroying yourself with your own pains.

"I'm tired of so much pain, so many problems. My mind and sanity are rapidly slipping away, I find myself with the rope around my neck at the top of a tree on a steep cliff. To the point of throwing myself from there, I can't bear so much pain. — cried Natasha

Breaking the mirror glass with scissors and throwing her products to the floor, her hair is disheveled and her mascara runs down her cheeks.

"Natasha, please. Look at me. Xavier calmed down.

I look into those green eyes. They were as deep and dense as the leaves of a tree.

— You know more than anyone how to deal with pain, you've been through so many things at the same time, with all the difficulties and you're still standing here and alive. But mostly eat a healthy mind for whatever comes and comes. Stay calm, it's no use going crazy for so many problems, they will come without pity and without mercy, they are in single file just waiting for their turn to act and happen. We have to be strong enough to face each one of them. Xavier explained.

— Sometimes greed speaks louder than love, kindness loses out next to money. I want to say that if this is all an experiment, we are like guinea pigs for these crazy scientists to do whatever they want with us, in favor of a mission that goes beyond what we can imagine. Natasha growled.

"I understand your hatred and anger. But don't let that dominate who you are. I know that at the bottom of this fortress of yours, there is a girl with a good heart that, despite being hurt, still burns, with a clear and burning flame that burns, roaring between the four corners of the world. — encouraged Xavier

Natasha calms down and walks to the window, looking at the buildings.

Sighing deeply.

— You are right. I need to keep control. — said Natasha

Fixing her disheveled and messy hair, Natasha ties it in her trusty ponytail.

Looking at Andrew who was still sleeping, a tear slipped from Natasha's eyes.

"If I could go back in time... I, I...— I say.

Xavier walked over and wiped Natasha's eyes. As if to say, hey it's okay, you don't have to be strong all the time.

— I know X, thank you. — said Natasha

A crash interrupted the atmosphere of friendship and fraternity. An incandescent glow appeared on the dark avenue, knocking out the point of light.

"We need to get out of here. Xavier ordered.

Before they could flee the scene, they were stopped in the room by a figure.

A large dog shaped like a man, the god Anubis.

— Dear survivors, you cannot escape your destiny! — exclaimed Anubis

Natasha stood motionless for a while, pulling out her ax recovered from the last challenge. Anubis with his long golden trough, stuck in the ground. The young girl positioned herself with the object in her hands. The Egyptian god got into a battle stance, putting one foot forward.

— Do you think you can face the great Anubis? asked Anubis "Sorry dogface, but I think I can!— exclaimed Natasha.

The Egyptian god was enraged, leaving for battle, punching the air, his fists nailed the ground, Natasha ran up and straddled Anubis's neck.

"Throw me the axe!— Natasha screamed

Xavier threw the ax and with one hand Natasha held it, intertwining the blades in the creature's neck.

"Now let's see what your power is.— Natasha teased

Anubis' eyes turned blue and smoke came out of them, levitating Natasha in the air, with his hands in mid— air he threw the girl across the room, hitting her body against the top of the wall.

"Foolish mortal, you don't know the extent of my power. — said Anubis

— Natasha! Andrew yelled

"Let's help her, quick. said Xavier

Natasha was unconscious for a few seconds, until the boys got her up again. When they touch Natasha, the girl throws them away, Xavier is thrown against a glass table. Andrew is thrown against the kitchen counter.

Natasha's eyes were white, a kind of astral possession. Anubis' smile was plastered across his face.

"Shall we play boys?— said Natasha in the voice of Anubis "He owned her. said Xavier

"What will we do? Andrew asked.

"I don't know. Incredibly, this is the first time I've seen this. Xavier explained.

"Natasha, please come back!— Andrew exclaimed.

"Their fates are sealed, there is no option of victories in their actions. said Natasha

Picking up the ax from the ground, Natasha laughs and tries to hit Xavier, slicing through the air. He dodges quickly, the ax sticks to the wall and stays put.

"We have to get her back.— Andrew suggested.

"But how? Xavier asked.

Natasha stood in front of the staff of Anubis, while he stared at her with his pointed teeth.

"You my dear will go with me to the underworld. — said Anubis

Lifting Natasha aloft, golden yellow light poured from her staff as the girl levitated in a daze.

"Leave her alone. Xavier said running

Kicking the staff away, Xavier pushed Natasha away from the Egyptian god and a melee ensued. Xavier grabbed the ax and lifted it high and a red light shot from the blades of the axe.

— You think you can with me, you're nothing but a scared boy! — snarled Anubis

"I can show you what a scared boy can do!— Xavier yelled.

"Are you still Daddy Xavier's little boy?— asked Anubis

A flashback flashed between Xavier's eyes, a dimly lit room and his father with a belt in his hands about to hit him.

"H...how do you...know?— Xavier asked.

— Child, I am a god I know everything. explained Anubis.

Xavier's eyes filled with tears, wielding the axe. The young boy goes after Anubis. Who counterattacks by throwing his staff at Xavier, who dodges it. Climbing on top of an armchair, launches the ax that cuts the air and spinning in a spiral, ends up cutting the face of the Egyptian god, blinding him in one of the eyes.

"Damn you, hideous creature, you blinded me!— — shouted Anubis "You're lucky I didn't do worse. Xavier mumbled.

"You will pay for your insolence.— Xavier yelled.

Levitating Xavier aloft, with his hands Anubis pulled him forward and brought him close to his face. With his blue eyes he extracted Xavier's soul, sucking it from his body. Thus opening its huge mouth. "Xavier!— No! Andrew yelled

Natasha was next to Anubis, still with white eyes and motionless. By the time he dropped Xavier to the ground, the boy was as pale as snow. Anubis approached Andrew as if he wanted to hurt him too.

Andrew ran and grabbed a long shard of glass and approached Anubis, slicing his knees. Bringing the god to his knees. Its back was filled with black blood. The boy slashed through Anubis's chest and then sent the shard of glass into the creature's chest. Making it explode into ash, smoke and embers. Soon after, Natasha passes out on the floor with her eyes closed.

— Natasha! Andrew yelled

Lifting the girl into his arms, he laid her down on the white couch. And walked over to Xavier to check his pulse. There were no vitals and no breathing, he was dead.

"Oh no, Xavier. Andrew lamented.

After a few hours, Natasha woke up with air in her lungs. Opening your eyes and returning your consciousness.

— What? asked Natasha. — Where am I?

"Nat, I'm glad you're awake!— Andrew exclaimed.

"Andrew, what happened?— asked Natasha.

"Oh my God, Xavier, Andrew the Xavier! Natasha screamed "Yes, he's dead. Andrew sighed.

"No, no, no!— It can't be, I don't believe it! — cried Natasha

Tears streamed down Natasha's face simultaneously, leaning over Xavier's body. Andrew caught her, lacing his hands around her waist and pulling quickly — It can not be! It cannot! Natasha screamed

Andrew wiped away Natasha's tears and running his hands over his cheeks, looked into Natasha's deep blue eyes. Then he hugged her tightly.

"It's going to be okay, it's going to be.— Andrew reassured

Natasha hugged him again leaning her head on Andrew's shoulder and closed her eyes.

"We have to get out of here. Andrew said. "This place is no longer safe.

"You're right, but we have to take him with us and bury him with dignity.

explained Natasha.
