Damian stood at 4 feet tall (1.2 meters/48 inches) while looking at Richard. He was covered in blood from head to toe, and his clothes were full of bullet holes.
He looked at a shivering Richard on the ground without saying anything after he said that.
Richard moved backwards when Damian took a step forward and said, "Are you going to kill me now?"
Richard didn't hear Damian saying he could arrest him because he was so afraid he couldn't hear anything.
Damian looked at Richard and said, "Why would I kill you?" as he tilted his head to the side like he didn't understand why Richard was asking that.
Richard stood up from the ground and looked at Damian like he was a monster. "You KILLED everyone who came with me. EVERYONE!" he said.
"No. I didn't kill everyone. I killed everyone who attacked me. The people who didn't shoot at me are still alive," Damian said as he looked around himself.
"I'm the only one left."
"Wrong. The sniper is still alive," Damian said as he pointed to the top of the waterfall. Everyone shot at Damian except one sniper.
7 snipers shot at him, 47 soldiers shot at him, but 1 sniper and Richard didn't shoot at him, so he let them live. The sniper didn't shoot at him because he couldn't shoot at the kid. Even after the same kid he didn't shoot kept killing his teammates, he couldn't pull the trigger.
He questioned himself, what was the reason for this job? They invaded someone living peacefully alone without causing trouble, and they were supposed to capture him without questions.
They weren't told the child had abilities. They were told he was extremely dangerous and they should proceed with caution.
When the child retaliated, they all went for the kill instead of capturing him, but everyone died except him.
Richard spotted the sniper standing up from his spot and looked at the kid while thinking, 'He was rational while killing the soldiers in his anger. He's a monster.'
Richard wondered why Damian wasn't running away from him or killing him since he had super speed. He remembered that Damian said something when he got close to him, but he wasn't concentrating.
"What did you say to me, kid?"
Damian realised he was asking about what he said first, and he told him. Richard couldn't believe Damian was turning himself in after all that.
The sniper got close to Richard and looked at him, waiting for his orders. Richard took the handcuffs from his belt to arrest Damian but didn't put them on and just let Damian enter the van with him.
They all came in 8 black transit vans, and they got in one. Damian was put in the back without handcuffs, and the sniper was driving the van while Richard sat in the passenger seat.
They drove towards Vought International in New York.
When they got there, they got out and left Damian inside the van. Richard went to have a talk with the guy who gave him the mission, not Edgar, because he didn't know him, while the sniper sat inside the van.
The person who gave him the mission sent him home and told him to wait for a call or a message. Richard became furious when he heard that but didn't argue.
Stan Edgar arrived at the van afterwards to check on Damian. He opened the van and found out Damian was sleeping inside the van without a worry.
Stan looked at the boy as if judging him and noticed he was not cuffed or sedated.
Damian woke up when he sensed the temperature was not the same. He saw Stan Edgar looking at him with a disappointed look but didn't say anything. Damian just stepped out and noticed he was in an underground parking lot.
Black Noir was standing at a faraway corner so as not to be noticed. He was with Stan Edgar because Stan was going to discuss something with him and the rest of Payback.
Stan thought Damian could be more powerful than Soldier Boy and that he'd be able to somehow control him, but things didn't go as planned.
"Hello there. I'm Stan Edgar. I help run the company that watches over people like Soldier Boy and Crimson Countess. It's my job to make sure everything stays safe and organized, even when things get complicated. What's your name?" Stan introduced himself to Damian without much thought.
Damian was confused about why he was asking his name when he clearly knew it. Damian figured he was trying to play a power play with him, but he wouldn't let him.
"Ooooh, that's a nice suit, Mister," Damian said to Stan with enthusiasm, trying to act unbothered or like a fool.
Stan became irritated by his response but didn't show it on his face. He tried to initiate a conversation with Damian, but Damian kept saying other things.
Stan Edgar became irritated and made an excuse to leave. He asked someone to handle Damian and labelled him "A Fool." The guy was supposed to handle Damian by processing him into the system and trying to understand him.
They drew some blood from Damian to test him. The following day, they decided to send Damian to Red River Institute to live there.
It's an orphanage where children with abilities who have no parents or are not wanted get sent. The Red River Institute was designed to be a containment facility for kids who are disregarded by their parents or who killed them.
Since Vought began 'vaccinating' newborns with the 'vaccine', they happened to develop abilities. Since they started vaccinating babies recently, there are few children who have developed abilities.
Some parents freaked out when they discovered their kids had developed abilities, and others didn't take the news well but accepted them anyway, while others were unfortunate.
Damian didn't have any luggage to carry since he left everything in the forest.
When Damian arrived at Red River, there were 8 other kids who were already there. The oldest was probably the same age as him, while the youngest was 2 years old.
It looked like his quiet days were over...
