"It is time for me to leave for Varos," Sylvian told Iliana, watching her as she finished wiping down the morning breakfast dishes.
"So early?" Iliana murmured, biting the tip of her tongue the moment the words escaped her lips.
"Would you prefer I stay?" Sylvian asked, a smile playing upon his lips. "Though you might have to close your shop early then. I would hate for your business to suffer on my account."
"It is not that my business would suffer," she stated softly, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "It is just that you have to stay cramped inside that small room."
She thought back to the previous night, when she had insisted on taking the narrow sofa, leaving him with the bed despite his repeated protests. Yet despite the tight space, having his presence in the house had brought her a comforting warmth.
