Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The Unseen Star

By the time they had reached the docks the sun and completely set. Which Eliana thought was perfect better to hide what had happened. She got of her bike and hid it underneath some debrief to mask the pastel purple frame. Ralts levitated himself out of the basket and floated next to her head as she moved closer to where the docks were.

Eliana searched with her mind, happy to see that the gang members were still here. They had gotten greedy and that would be their doom. Getting closer Eliana had already masked her and Ralts presence when the bikers came into view.

They were settled on the sand loudly bragging about their hauls for the day. Nestled beside them were various water types trapped in cages. Most of the aquatic creatures were struggling to breathe as they had obviously been out of the water for a while based on their dry scales.

Eliana focused on the one closest to her, searching through his memories to see where the biker gang's hideout was. After shifting through, apparently these guys had to constantly move bases, she found that they were currently situated in a cave underneath the bike route. Eliana snorted to herself, seriously that's where these guys are hiding out? In a place that's easy to collapse and block off because it only has one exit. Even the Yas and Kaz gangs were smarter than this.

I can finally play, and there's no cops around to stop me. Eliana thought to herself with a devious grin, pausing when Ralts pulled at her sleeve. She looked down confused when the little Pokémon pointed at a cage beside a pair of blonde twins. Inside were a group of Staryu, Elaina looked back down at him with a raised eyebrow,

Ralts shook his head no, eyes glowing as he asked her to look over them.

Eliana's eyes narrowed as she browsed the minds of the Staryu. After looking over the first four she found nothing of interest and was about to grumble at Ralts when the fifth one suddenly sent out a wave a energy as she passed over it. Eliana paused, perking up with interest at the little Star Pokémon. None of the other Staryu had reacted when she inspected them, this one had stronger potential. Taking a closer look she realized that its red core glowed much brighter than the others.

Ralts then impatiently tugged at her sleeve, wanting to know if his trainer could sense that one of those Staryu had a large amount of psychic energy stored away.

Eliana's eyes sparkled as she stared at it. At first she had only come to fight these guys and take the location of their base from their minds, but now there was an opportunity to grow her team.

(◡ ‿ ◡ ), Ralts smirked smugly, a new teammate curtesy of me.

Eliana considered her plan of action, at first she was just planning to blast all of them, regardless of what happened to the trap Pokémon. But now it would be awful if that Staryu got caught in the crossfire.

Eliana's eyes glowed briefly as she focused on the Strayu. This species didn't exactly have a brain but they could still communicate so it might work.

At first Eliana didn't get a response, she waited a few seconds and was going to call it a lost cause when she felt the Staryu release a small wave of energy. Not exactly communication but it was a feeling, a mixture of fear, anger, and confusion. Eliana blinked before smiling to herself, Good it hasn't lost its will.

Eliana decided to try sending another message to see if she could get a clearer response from the Pokémon,

Again a few seconds passed without response, but after the first time Eliana decided to wait. She was pleasantly surprised to get a clear response back this time. The thoughts were fuzzy, not as clear as a human's or Ralts. But it was still understandable: Help… stuck…

Eliana cooed, her mental voice a gentle caress.

The Staryu's cored blinked a few times before Eliana heard it again: Help…?

Eliana answered the Pokémon's question.

Come... Okay... the Staryu's thought came back much quicker this time, a flicker of desperate hope in its core.

With that settled, Eliana turned her attention back to the gang members. They were too loud, too proud. They had no idea a predator was watching. Her eyes scanned the area, her mind cataloging every potential weapon. Her gaze landed on a heavy-duty anchor, resting near a small fishing boat, a coil of thick rope snaking around it. She probably wouldn't need to use it but it never hurt to be prepared.

Eliana sent, her mind cool and focused.

While Ralts prepared, Eliana's mind latched onto the anchor, her telekinesis a firm, invisible grip. She wouldn't attack them directly, not unless she had to. She preferred to let others do the dirty work.

( •̀ ω •́ )✧, Ralts's body began to glow as he gathered energy for the attack.

This time Eliana didn't waste time with teasing her prey before their demise.

Ralts's eyes flared, and a shimmering wave of psychic energy erupted from him, washing over the entire group. The effect was instantaneous. The bikers' jeers and boasts choked off in their throats. They staggered, their bodies freezing mid-motion as they were caught in the invisible grip. Their faces contorted in confusion and pain, their simple minds buckling under the pressure. Two of them managed to let out strangled cries before their eyes rolled back and they collapsed. The others soon followed, crumpling to the sand in a messy, silent heap. Soft gasps were the last sounds from the gang as blood dripped from every opening on their face.

Looks like Ralts is getting stronger, he's never made someone bleed like that without crushing their body. Elaina looked excited at the new prospects of her Pokémon's power.

Ralts landed softly on the sand, a cheeky little smirk on his face. (๑>ᴗ<๑), That was fun! He sent to Eliana, a feeling of smug satisfaction flowing through their link.

Eliana praised the smirking Pokémon,

She brought the anchor closer using the rope to tie all the gang members to it. Then gestured with her head towards the ocean, a silent command. With a soft grunt of effort from Ralts moving the anchor up, the unconscious bikers began to lift from the sand, suspended in air by the rope. They floated clumsily through the air, like grotesque puppets, before being unceremoniously dumped into the dark, churning water of the sea. One by one, they sank beneath the waves without a trace.

Eliana then turned her attention to the bikes. Her telekinesis seized them, lifting them high into the air. With a flick of her wrist, she sent them soaring out over the deeper water, where they splashed and sank into the murky depths, far from shore. No one but the gang came around these parts, the bikers made sure of it so was unlikely anyone would find them. And by the time someone did, the bodies would have either decomposed or been eaten by the wild Pokémon.

And besides, no one would suspect me anyways, Eliana snickered softly as Ralts floated up beside her to settle on her shoulders. Now that the mess was settled there was only one thing left to do here.
