Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Naruto: I feel insulted

After hearing Ge Liang's words, Naruto didn't ask why he knew that stealing the scroll would allow him to learn powerful Ninjutsu.

He only knew that if he didn't steal the scroll and become stronger, his dream of becoming Hokage would move further and further away.

"Damn it, why am I so poor?" (T_T)

At this moment, Ge Liang felt as if Naruto was shedding tears of poverty.

"Alright, I've said what needed to be said. Now it's up to you to choose."

Ge Liang patted Naruto's shoulder and walked away, giving Naruto some space to think things over.

Of course, if nothing unexpected happened, Naruto would definitely choose to steal the scroll.

On one hand, it was for his dream.

On the other hand... who told him he was poor?

"Uncle, I've made up my mind. I'm going to steal the scroll."

As expected, Naruto didn't make Ge Liang wait too long before making his decision.

"Go for it, I have faith in you."

"Mm, I'll work hard."

Naruto left. From beginning to end, he never doubted Ge Liang's words.

Ge Liang said that stealing the scroll would allow him to learn a super powerful Ninjutsu, so he would definitely succeed in stealing the scroll and learning that Ninjutsu.

As for why Naruto believed Ge Liang so much.

It was mostly because of trust.

Because of trust, Naruto would consult with Ge Liang.

And because of trust, Naruto would unconditionally believe what Ge Liang said.

Facts would prove that Ge Liang had not tricked him; the Shadow Clone Jutsu was indeed a powerful Ninjutsu.

"Next, just wait for trouble to come knocking."

...Leaving the internet cafe, Naruto first returned to his room and made himself a bowl of instant noodles.

While eating the noodles, Naruto's mind kept simulating the situations that might occur when he stole the scroll later.

However, even after he thought he had considered all possibilities, what happened next still left him completely bewildered.

"What's going on? There's no one guarding here?"

Arriving at the scroll-stealing location, Naruto found that there were no guards, and for a moment, he thought he had come to the wrong place.

"Is this a joke?!"

In Naruto's opinion, since something even Mizuki coveted was kept here, the security didn't need to be extremely strict, but at the very least, there should be someone guarding it.

The reality was that there were no Ninja guards here, and the door, which should have been closed, had a gap, as if to say: "The door isn't locked, come on in and play, old man."

"If it weren't for the Ninjutsu Uncle mentioned, who would fall for such an obvious trap?"

After muttering to himself, Naruto still gently pushed open the door and walked in.

Upon entering the room, Naruto's mouth couldn't help but twitch; he felt insulted.

Because the scroll of seals, his target for this trip, was hanging not far from him.

Calling it a book, it was actually an enlarged scroll.

Perhaps fearing that Naruto wouldn't know the difference between a book and a scroll, the person who arranged this place hung a banner above this large scroll, with the four characters "scroll of seals" written on it, and thoughtfully added a "↓" symbol.

"How stupid do you all think I am?"

"If Uncle hadn't spoken so solemnly, I really wouldn't want to take it."

That's right, it was taking, not stealing.

In this situation, calling it stealing would simply insult the word

"But to go to such lengths, it must have been difficult for them."

After sighing, the helpless Naruto had no choice but to take down the scroll of seals, then quickly left the place and headed towards the direction he had agreed upon with Mizuki.

In the original work, Naruto, after stealing the scroll of seals, arrived at the agreed location and found that Mizuki hadn't arrived yet, so he opened the scroll of seals to look at it.

The current Naruto, due to Ge Liang's prior spoiler and having learned Divine Speed Hundred Changes, opened the scroll of seals directly while on the move to view the Ninjutsu inside.

"What? Is the Ninjutsu Uncle mentioned this Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu?"

"Clone Jutsu is my worst Ninjutsu."

Although he said that, Naruto still diligently memorized the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu.

When he believed he had thoroughly memorized the cultivation method for Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu, he further opened the scroll of seals, wanting to see if there were any other Ninjutsu inside.

"Indeed, this scroll of seals was prepared just for me."

Why would Naruto say that?

Because in this large scroll, apart from the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu at the very beginning, all other sections were filled with vague words that were clearly meant to fool a poor student like Naruto.

"Alright, you win."

After reading the scroll of seals, Naruto suppressed the urge to hit someone and restored the large scroll to its original state.

"Now, I just wait for Mizuki-sensei."

"Sensei, please don't disappoint me."

Arriving at the agreed location, Naruto calmed himself down while waiting for Mizuki to arrive.

"Naruto, what's wrong with you? Why did you steal the scroll of seals?"

After a while, Naruto heard someone call him. He looked up and saw that the person who came was not Mizuki, but Iruka.

"Iruka-sensei, why are you here?"

Naruto truly hadn't expected Iruka to come here.

He had originally planned everything perfectly: once Mizuki arrived, he would first try to get some information, then severely punish Mizuki, letting Mizuki know that Uzumaki Naruto was not to be trifled with.

"Why didn't Mizuki-sensei come?"

"Mizuki? Why would he come here?"

"Eh?"

Naruto was surprised. He had thought Iruka was in league with Mizuki, after all, this place was very secluded, and only someone with too much time on their hands would come here.

Was Iruka that kind of person with too much time on his hands?

Things were a bit beyond Naruto's expectations, so he decided to continue probing.

"Mizuki-sensei said that as long as I stole the scroll of seals and gave it to him, he would get Iruka-sensei to agree to my graduation."

"What? Mizuki told you to do this?"

Seeing Iruka's surprised expression, Naruto felt that Iruka was probably not Mizuki's accomplice.

"Don't say anything more. The Third Hokage already knows about you stealing the scroll of seals and has dispatched a large number of Ninja to find you. Hurry and come with me to explain to Hokage-sama. As long as you explain clearly, I believe you'll be fine."

The Third Hokage already knows?

Upon hearing this news, Naruto's expression darkened. He probably understood Mizuki's intentions.

'Make a big deal out of me stealing the scroll of seals, then secretly eliminate me, and there will be no evidence.'

'When everyone thinks I stole the scroll of seals and defected, they won't know that Mizuki is the real winner behind it all.'

'But that's not right.'

'If that's the case, what about this fake scroll of seals?'

'And that arrangement that clearly looks like it's meant to fool people.'

'Could it be that Grandpa Hokage has been watching all of Mizuki's actions?'

'Otherwise, how can all this be explained?'

It must be said that the current Naruto was much smarter than his original work counterpart; he found the crux of the problem after a little thought.
