The earth comprehend underneath the weight of a large claw. Steadily a huge reptilian creature emerged from the ruins of the first year block.
Arthur tightened his grip on his rod, there was a chance he could win alone. He just had to observe and search for a weakness or opening.
Staring at the eleven foot long, four foot high beast, Arthur was mesmerized by the fiery red scales and icy blue underbelly. ' It's a mutated gecko.' It licked its lips then let out a horrifying screech.

'Seriously this shit is slow, so let me see what a tier five creature can do.' Gathering enough courage, Arthur dashed towards the mutant gecko and whipped his makeshift weapon.
Despite its hulking size, the gecko shot back at him with terrifying speeds, a trail of ice following its every step. If that gecko was a few centimeters smaller Arthur might not have been able to follow its speed.
If decended upon him in moments, clashing with the whip of Arthur's weapon. Arthur was pushed back, his hands numb. 'The weapon has no affect on it.' Arthur studied the creature's snout which was perfectly fine.
Before Arthur could decide on what to do next, the gecko swong its tail at him. It wasn't long and metallic like the moles but it was surrounded by a dense icy fog. So Arthur immediately knew what was coming.
He tried to dive out of the way, but his wounded leg gave out and he fell to his knees. Several icicles stabbed into his side leg and arm, knocking him meters away.
His makeshift weapon flew out of his grasp as he tumbled back towards the great valley. The icicles broke leaving sharp pieces still embedded in his body.
Stopping almost lifelessly, he struggled to open his eyes and when he did, he saw the approaching figure of the mutated gecko. ' Don't die like this…, don't die like a worthless side character.'
With a trembling body, he rose looking at the frozen holes in his body which prevented him from bleeding out but was also killing him slowly.
Staring darkly at the approaching gecko, he sprang back to his feet. ' Two option, run or kill this thing, die either way. So I battle it to the death.' Baring the immense pain, Arthur limped forward before breaking into a sprint.
He aimed to reach for his weapon, but he was still too slow because of his injuries. The gecko knocked his weapon away, its speed increasing as it approached.
Once they were within each others range, the gecko open its maw while Arthur leaped. Hurls of flames erupted from the gecko's maw, Arthur knew this could happen so he immediately turned his leap into flight.
The flames chased him, so he flew erratically, temporarily evading being scorched. His frozen injuries melted off and his blood began flowing normally.
Arthur was now bleeding badly, this battle had to end. Diving straight for his weapon, he snatched it and flew straight to the gecko. Activating weapon augmentation, he whirled his weapon with lethal precision.
The weapon didn't leave his palms, like there were magnetic. Reaching the gecko, he lashed at it utilizing the tail whip and the rod efficiently.
Sparks ignited on the scales of the gecko but it was ineffective, soon Arthur would lose to fatigue or die from his injuries. The scaled gecko soon grew furious at Arthur's relentless attacks.
Nothing it did seem to reach Arthur who was to fast on air. Its hue was starting to diminish, its flames weaker and icicles smaller. It was at that point, Arthur figured out it used mana.
' We shall see who survives this endurance test.' Whipping the gecko's neck for the first time, Arthur noticed something he had missed the entire time. The gecko screeched in pain, its fleshy neck bleeding.
' Geckos aren't scaled…' Having stopped due to his realization, the gecko's tail pierced through his right shoulder. He was slammed to the ground and hurled towards the hall.
He bounced on the wall, leaving a bloody crater and slid to a sitting position. ' It's over.' His hands shook violently and his entire body gave up.
Watching the gecko approach, Arthur sighed. 'Let's provoke it before we go.' Struggling to stretch out his still functioning arm, he focused on his weapon, instinctively telekinesis was activated.
The makeshift weapon which was far beyond the gecko, slowly rose to the air and flew towards Arthur. Slightly directing the rod to come before the whip, it pierced through the gecko's neck.
The gecko which was just a few paces away from Arthur fell and rolled to his feet. It looked at him, its malevolence fading into the embrace of death.

Too weak to check his rewards, he struggled to his feet with all the strength he could muster and walked towards the great valley. Holding his shoulder, he coughed blood repeatedly.
His breath was hitched and his vision blurry, yet he kept moving till he reached, the valley. However he kept walking till his saw people, former students resting from the battle.
Staggering he fell into someone's embrace. " Arthur, what the fuck, get a healer." Ethan said urgently as he approached the girl who caught Arthur.
A warm green glow encapsuled him as two awakeners placed their hands on him. Ethan looked at his subconscious state worriedly, he sent everyone towards the hall, hoping Arthur took care of whatever was there.
Soon everyone was gone remaining the two healers, Ethan, Arthur and the girl he fell onto. Slowly his injuries were sealing up and bruises were quietly disappearing. Opening his eyes, Arthur stared into the sapphire eyes of the girl holding him.
' Who is this, why is she holding me like I would die if she leaves me.' Rising from the girl's lap, Arthur shook his head to recollect his thoughts. " Arthur you nearly died there what happened."
With that sapphire eyed girl helping his up Arthur answered, " I didn't know it was a level five monster, running back for help would have gotten more people killed."
Rolling his eyes Ethan queried, " I can't understand you at times. You value yourself more than others but still can't ask for help when you truly need it."
" What do you mean I can't ask for help, I don't need anyone." Before he could complete his statement, the girl helping him walk said. " Don't shake to much, your injuries would reopen."
Arthur wanted to retort but for some reason he didn't and just stared at the girl's charming face. She was definitely from another school, the smallest in the gathering.
'Who does she think she is, I'll repay her back and be done with this.' "I think I can walk now." He said trying to take his hands off her shoulder.
"Shut the fuck up and let her help you, cause I ain't doing that shit, if you fall, I am leaving you here to become zombie fodder." Ethan rebuked.
Arthur looked back at girl and found her staring at intensely at him. Before could be mesmerized, a loud explosion resounded some distance behind them.
"We need to move quickly, it seems like my barrier has come undone." Arthur said, his face turning stern.
