Instead of returning to the Human Land, Kelsey chose to return to the Queen's Palace. As usual, Emmeline accompanied her in silence.
Normally, Kelsey would have started a conversation to break the quiet, since she loved to talk. But not at the moment. She welcomed the silence, and the laughter that once brightened her face had completely disappeared.
"Kelsey… are you okay?" Emmeline had spent two full years with Kelsey in the Human Land, longer than Kelsey had even lived with her own father. Because of that, she knew very well that the laughter Kelsey had shown to her family had never been genuine joy.
"What about you?" Kelsey replied softly. "Don't you want to ask me something?"
"I already told you before," Emmeline said firmly. "No matter who you are, I will follow you. To be honest, I benefited greatly when your main body appeared that day."
"Oh?" Kelsey glanced at her briefly. "I just noticed… the quality of your luck power has evolved again. Congratulations."
