Kelsey shook her head. "Okay, okay, I get it. I think we should stop this conversation. Why do I feel like you're even more overprotective than Luca?"
Emmeline smiled playfully. "His Majesty has arrived. I'll take my leave."
The fox princess vanished without a trace, and Kelsey didn't even have time to respond. Her bedroom door swung open almost at the same moment. "She left that quickly?" Luca asked.
There was no need to ask whom he meant. "Do you want to talk to her?" Kelsey replied.
"No. I just don't understand why she stayed so long after escorting you home." Luca frowned slightly. "She even spent more time with you than I did." Apparently, the Demon King was jealous. If he had still seen that sly fox's cunning smile, he would have kicked Emmeline out—regardless of her status. "How was your day? Did anything trouble you?" He pulled Kelsey into his arms and kissed her forehead gently.
"Who would dare bother me when the fox princess was guarding me?" Kelsey teased.
