Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 What? The Blood Moon is coming!

At night, by the bonfire.

Shawn held a piece of roasted meat in his hand, eating it in large bites.

The consumption of that day was comparable to the consumption during the Zombie tide in Atlanta.

It wasn't until all three pieces of meat were eaten, along with a bowl of leaf soup, that Shawn felt better.

However, when he finished, he found that several people in the Camp were looking at him with strange expressions.

"What's wrong?"

Shawn was a bit puzzled.

"Are you always this hungry?" Amy, who was sitting beside him, asked in a low voice.

The three large pieces of meat Shawn ate were almost equivalent to her three days' worth of food.

"It seems we need to hunt more big game."

Merle winked at Shawn, grinning mischievously.

Daryl said nothing, only silently maintained his crossbow after dinner, ensuring that this old fellow wouldn't quit tomorrow.

Andrea simply ate her food quietly, watching the others in the Camp, and a knowing smile appeared on her face.

When 17 Wooden Spike Traps were set up, she suddenly felt a sense of security, a different kind of feeling called 'home'.

Although they were only four or five people left after parting ways at Quarry Camp.

But for some reason, Andrea felt that this was also quite good.

After dinner, Shawn was invited to Hershel's cabin for tea, where they discussed the current situation of the Farm, and he only returned to the Camp tent two hours later.

Lying in the tent.

Shawn rested one hand behind his head and slid the other hand slightly over the top of the tent.

"2 skill points, not too many, not too few, I'll put them all into'Strength'."

With two gentle clicks, Shawn felt a warm sensation throughout his body, as if he were soaking in a hot spring.

Core attribute—Strength, this wasn't just about having more power when swinging a great hammer with two arms.

Shawn felt his entire being had improved; some actions he couldn't do before could now be done easily.

Just like when Shawn dealt with the three Zombies for the Farm earlier.

Continuous swings and twists required the simultaneous coordination of several muscle tissues in the body to achieve.

If one had to summarize it with a single word, it would definitely be 'core strength'.

The next day.

Shawn slept until noon before waking up.

With a gentle push, he felt light and got up instantly.

This sudden feeling of improvement made Shawn a bit unaccustomed.

"Happiness also has its troubles~"

Shawn hummed a tune, putting on his shoes and walking out of the tent, feeling light and happy.

But before he could greet Andrea and the others, Shawn was suddenly stunned as if struck by lightning.

"What's wrong?"

Andrea walked over and asked with a frown.

Since she met Shawn, this was the first time she had seen this barbarian show such an expression; it didn't seem like Shawn at all.

Facing Andrea's question, Shawn seemed to ignore her, only raising his head to look at the sky and muttering a question.

"Do you see the sky, what color is it?"

"Blue, what's so strange about it? The weather is nice today."

Andrea looked at the sky and said truthfully.

The weather was nice today; she had even specifically washed Shawn's clothes from yesterday and hung them out to dry.

"Is that so..." Shawn showed a smile as ugly as crying.

In his eyes, the entire boundless sky was not blue...

Walking out of the Camp, Shawn had a headache.

"Everything was too rushed when I transmigrated, I actually forgot about seven days to die, seven days to die, every seven days you have to kill even if you don't want to, today is the damn Blood Moon!"

Shawn looked up again.

It was clearly daytime, but there was no sun in the sky; instead, a blood-red full moon hung there.

Shawn looked directly at the Blood Moon, even clearly seeing many uneven craters on its surface.

The Blood Moon quietly stayed in the sky, making no sound.

Blood Moon

Even Shawn, only fully reacted the moment he woke up and saw it.

"If nothing unexpected, the Blood Moon's eruption time should not change much, it will be at exactly 12 AM."

"And this is only the first Blood Moon, the scale of the Zombie attack won't be too large, and their overall strength won't be particularly strong..."

Shawn sat on the grass, his hands resting on his thighs, deep in thought.

He had completely forgotten about the Blood Moon before, which was why he was so surprised and caught off guard when he realized it.

Moreover, the Zombies during the Blood Moon should also be somewhat different from the usual swaying Zombies.

Even as Shawn sat under the Blood Moon, looking directly at it, he could feel an inner unrest.

It seemed to not only incite the Zombies but also incite Shawn, bringing him to his optimal state to meet the incoming Zombies.

"I really want... I really want to smash something with a hammer."

Shawn scratched his thigh, feeling his fingers itch.

If anyone were to look closely at Shawn at this moment, they would definitely notice a faint red glow flashing in his eyes.

It was very much like a barbarian class in a certain game, in berserker mode.

Coming back to his senses, Shawn stood up.

"No, I can't face the Blood Moon in the Camp."

Shawn had his own considerations.

Shawn didn't know the scale and strength of the first Blood Moon; rushing to meet it in the Camp would likely harm the others.

Shawn could suppress the virus with Antibiotics, but for others, these were just ordinary medicines and would have no effect on those bitten.

After thinking for a moment, Shawn got the car keys from Andrea.

"I'm going out for a bit, don't save any lunch or dinner for me."

Dropping a sentence, Shawn drove straight towards the small town to the east.

By the time Shawn arrived at the small town, it was around 3:40 PM, and the Blood Moon hanging overhead seemed to be visible from the front no matter where he was.

At this point, the blood-red mist in Shawn's vision grew denser, and the Blood Moon in the sky inexplicably revealed a hint of ill omen.

Getting out of the car.

Shawn touched his heart: "It's not an illusion, even my heartbeat has quickened a bit."

The Blood Moon was gradually changing Shawn's state; it made the Zombies go berserk, and of course, it would also cause changes in Shawn.

Shawn quickened his pace; the town was not small, and that group of people couldn't have completely scoured it clean.

Shawn's intention was to make a final preparation before the Blood Moon descended.

...

11:50 PM.

Shawn sat in the driver's seat, hooked his finger, and tugged at his collar, revealing a layer of crude Wooden Armor under his bulletproof vest.

[Wooden Armor Set: 5 Plant Fibers, 5 Wood Planks]

Although crude, it could provide Shawn with a certain degree of defense to some extent.

On the faceplate of the Wooden Armor Set, a gradually burning cigar was embedded.

This was an equipment module obtained from a doomsday mission two days ago, which could be placed in the equipment's module slot to provide Shawn with a '+1 Strength' attribute boost.

And in Shawn's backpack, there were piles of food, medicine, and water as backup supplies.

Some ammunition was found, but no hot weapons were found, only one smoke grenade.

Everything was ready, but at this moment, Shawn's state seemed a bit off.
