Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Harvest and Rewards!

The two forces met.

However, the winner was decided in just 30 seconds.

The people from the Survivor Camp were like a torrent, quickly bitten to death, and their hot weapons couldn't fully resist.

In contrast, after this wave of confrontation, there were still seven or eight Walkers left that were affected by the Blood Moon.

They hung their heads low, unconsciously growling in low voices from their bleeding mouths.

Their heads swayed slightly, these Walkers seemed to be confirming Shawn's current location.

Shawn, who was lying on the roof, narrowed his eyes, the bloodlust in his eyes growing more intense as over a dozen people died.

"There are two ways to get through the Blood Moon."

"First: build strong defenses and keep the Walkers out until dawn the next day, which counts as getting through one."

"Second: kill all the attacking Walkers, and the Blood Moon will automatically recede, regardless of time."

"These Berserkers have already been weakened by more than half, with only seven or eight remaining. There's a chance!"

Shawn acted on his words, rolling to the side and landing on the ground.

Before the Walkers could react, Shawn returned to the car and, with a turn, slammed the car door shut.

Crash--!

The Walkers suddenly turned their heads, their grayish-white eyes filled with the same bloodlust as Shawn.

They charged and crashed into the car window, shattering glass onto the ground, the fragments embedding themselves in their decaying skulls, a few drops of un-dried blood mixed with pus, flowing from the cracks in their wounds.

"Roar--!!"

"Go to hell!"

Shawn cursed, then thrust the Horse Bone Hammer directly through the car window and into the Walker's mouth.

The Walker fell to the ground in response, momentarily stunned.

The space inside the car was limited, but it had the advantage of being able to pin the Walkers in place, preventing them from swarming him.

Shawn laboriously swung the Warhammer, aiming for the head of the Walker that was climbing through the car window.

Splat--

The sound of a skull shattering rang out, and brains splattered all over Shawn's face.

Smelling the nauseating odor from his nose, Shawn's heart pounded, his veins bulged like old tree roots, and he looked even more enraged than the Walkers.

Walkers had already climbed into the front of the car; in their first direct encounter, they were more agile than Shawn had imagined.

Looking at the gaping maw approaching him, Shawn gritted his teeth and kicked his boot into it.

At the same time, he pulled out the cigarette lighter from the car and pressed it into the eye of another Walker.

"Eat, you like to eat so much, eat it all!"

High heat passed through the Walker's eye socket, deep inside, sizzling and crackling, as thick fluid flowed out and dripped onto Shawn's chest.

Releasing the Warhammer, Shawn punched, smashing its head to smithereens.

Pushing away the Walker's corpse that had fallen on him, Shawn's eyes became increasingly stained with bloodlust.

Before other Walkers could enter, Shawn grabbed the Horse Bone Hammer again and flipped directly from the broken car window onto the car roof.

Like playing golf, he swung the hammer at the head of the Walker trying to climb up.

One hammer sent it reeling, and it fell to the ground, taking a long time to get back up.

Shawn then dealt with the remaining Walkers one by one, like playing whack-a-mole.

Once all the Walkers were down, Shawn waited on the roof for 20 minutes until the blood mist began to dissipate and the Blood Moon in the sky started to become blurry and indistinct, only then did Shawn let out a sigh of relief.

Shawn collapsed onto the car roof; as the Blood Moon faded, it was as if all his strength had been drained.

"Killing these seven or eight Berserkers is more exhausting than killing 20 Walkers."

Shawn was covered in cold sweat, panting incessantly.

If he had to fight all the Walkers, he would at least be severely injured, if not dead.

Facing these Berserkers alone was truly despair-inducing.

It was precisely because of this that Shawn became even more determined to establish a Survivor Camp in his heart.

Not just Daryl and Merle, but even Rick's group, Shawn intended to take them in!

In the apocalypse, people are the least valuable, but often also the most valuable.

This group of survivors with the potential to become kings—by acquiring them, Shawn would gain the strength to contend with the Blood Moon and other survivor organizations in the future.

Shawn rested on the car roof for a long time, propped up by the Horse Bone Hammer.

It wasn't until dawn, and even the survivors bitten to death by the Berserkers began to rise again as Walkers, that Shawn finally recovered.

Relaxed, cheerful music played in his ears, and a screen that only he could see appeared before his eyes.

"Successfully survived the first Blood Moon"

"Next Blood Moon arrival time doubled"

"Reward one: Horse Bone Hammer upgrade -- Stone Hammer, Quality 2"

"Reward two: Equipment -- Stalker Gloves, Quality 3"

"Reward three: magazine -- Hunter's Bow"

Shawn felt a warmth in his hand; the Horse Bone Hammer he had been propping himself up with suddenly changed.

The handle of the Warhammer suddenly gained a layer of soft leather, separating Shawn's palm from the rough wooden shaft.

Looking up along the Warhammer, its head changed from round to square, looking as if two or three bricks had been crudely embedded into it.

The entire Warhammer transformed from bone to stone, and its weight directly multiplied several times. If it weren't for Shawn prioritizing the Strength attribute, he probably wouldn't even be able to lift it now.

Prototype Stone Warhammer (slightly modified in text)

Taking a piece of bread and a bottle of mineral water from his backpack, Shawn ate while continuing to read.

"Stalker Gloves, Quality 3"

"One of the components of the stalker suit"

"Lock picking speed +6%"

"Lock picking success rate +6%"

"Stamina recovery +0.65/second"

"Movement speed +7%"

"Noise reduction, reduced chance of being detected"

"Comment: If you are an assassin, then this is the most suitable attire for you. Wear it and kill all the ignorant lambs sleeping soundly."

The attributes were good, but Shawn was not satisfied.

"You don't give me Agility sequence points, but you give me Agility equipment. What exactly do you want, System?"

The system did not reply.

Shawn looked at the third reward.

"magazine: Hunter's Bow"

"Usage effect: Increases bow crafting level (level cap 75)"

"Bow crafting level Lv1-10 (Traditional Bow)"

"Bow crafting level Lv11-20 (Wooden Bow)"

"Bow crafting level Lv21-35 (Iron Crossbow)"

"Bow crafting level Lv36-55 (Compound Bow)"

"Bow crafting level Lv56-75 (Compound Crossbow)"

magazine Hunter's Bow

"If I can raise it to a high level, crafting some Compound Crossbows would be good."

Shawn nodded to himself as he looked at the magazine's effect.

The equipment created by the system came with attributes, which were much better than handmade weapons and equipment.

Even if he didn't use them, he could craft them later for the people in the Camp to use.

Leaving others aside, if Daryl could be equipped with a good Compound Crossbow, his strength would probably double.

Putting the heavy Stone Hammer and Stalker Gloves into his backpack, Shawn flipped through the magazine, and it was automatically used.

Shawn opened the system.

"Bow Crafting Level Lv1 → Lv5"

"Your level has increased"

"Level Lv6 → Lv9"

"Skill points pending: 3"

One magazine could increase the crafting level by 5, Shawn quickly glanced over it, but when he saw his own level, he was stunned.

He quickly opened the system log, only to see that the records of killing the Berserkers were like this:

"Killed Berserkers, gained experience +1200"

"Killed Berserkers, gained experience +1200"

"Killed Berserkers, gained experience +1200"
