Chapter 7 - chapter 7

No matter when or where, or how she feels.

She always thinks he's just too good-looking.

From Su Zai Zai's Diary

The next day was Friday.

After school, Su Zai Zai slowly packed her things and walked out of the school gates with Jiang Jia.

Although Z High School is the best in Z City, its location is rather remote. It's nestled within a green area, with fresh air, pleasant scenery, and a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere.

The only downside is that it takes half an hour to walk from the school gate to the bus stop.

So, on Friday afternoons, many parents come to pick up their children.

As Su Zai Zai walked down the steps in front of the school gate, she looked up just in time to see Zhang Lu Rang getting into a black private car, accompanied by the sound of the car door closing.

The car didn't start immediately.

From this angle, she could see him toss his backpack aside and sink into the seat, closing his eyes.

Su Zai Zai stood there for a while.

Jiang Jia, who had taken a few steps ahead, suddenly sensed something was off. She looked back and saw Su Zai Zai standing still in the crowd, staring fixedly in one direction.

She called out, puzzled, "Zai Zai!"

At the same time, the car started to move forward.

As it moved, light and shadow flickered across his face, alternatelyFinally, he disappeared from view.

Su Zai Zai snapped out of her daze and quickly ran to catch up with Jiang Jia, giving her a big hug, grinning like a fool.

Jiang Jia was speechless. "What are you doing?"

Su Zai Zai smiled freely, her joy evident, but she just shook her head without saying anything.

Her expression made Jiang Jia even more curious. "What exactly are you up to? You're smiling like that for no reason; it's creeping me out, girl!"

"Let Rang."

"...The road is only so wide. Where do you want me to go?"

"Let Rang."

"Go away."

The sun was scorching, and even through the black coating of the parasol, you could still feel its heat. People bustled around them, and light and shadow danced on the ground.

At that moment.

Su Zai Zai saw it-his eyelashes fluttered, and then he opened his eyes.

Just as the car started moving.

Just as Jiang Jia called out "Zai Zai."

When you have a crush, even a coincidence can bring immense joy, a kind of satisfaction that fills your heart instantly.

Sweet as honey, seeping into your heart.

Saturday afternoon.

Su Zai Zai was home alone, sipping milk from a bag, idly flipping through channels with the remote control.

Her phone buzzed on the sofa.

Su Zai Zai glanced at it and picked it up.

Jiang Jia had sent two messages.

-*I asked my classmate for Zhang Lu Rang's WeChat.*

-*134****4329*

The milk bag slipped from Su Zai Zai's mouth, spilling all over her.

She yelped, quickly grabbed some tissues to clean up, and changed her clothes.

A few minutes later, she returned to the living room, picked up her phone, and sat cross-legged on the sofa.

After hesitating for a while, she started typing rapidly on her phone.

Su Zai Zai: *Do you think I should add him?*

Jiang Jia: *Add him, why not?*

Su Zai Zai: *I feel like he won't accept...*

Su Zai Zai: *Besides, I kind of want to ask him for it myself.*

Jiang Jia: *Just try it! What if he agrees? Then you'll have a chance to chat and build your relationship! Otherwise, at this rate, who knows how long it'll take for you to catch his attention.*

That sounded right...

Su Zai Zai hesitated a bit longer, biting her finger in anxiety.

Finally, she made up her mind, copied the number, clicked "Add Friend," pasted it, and his detailed information popped up on the screen.

His profile picture was a Samoyed dog, sticking its tongue out happily at the camera.

The style didn't quite match...

Her nervousness faded by more than half as she clicked on the enlarged picture. She suddenly noticed that in the bottom right corner of the picture, around the dog's neck, two fingers had sneaked into the frame.

To be precise, it was part of an index finger and middle finger.

Su Zai Zai blinked, immediately dismissing her doubts.

Even two fingers looked so good, exuding a seductive charm, tempting her to lick the screen. Who else could it be but Zhang Lu Rang!

She glanced at the nickname: *zlr*.

Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, gritted her teeth, and tapped "Add to Contacts." She didn't bother with a verification message and just hit "Send."

Afterward, she tossed her phone aside as if she had touched boiling water, grabbed a cushion, and covered her face, letting out a few muffled screams.

A long time later, Su Zai Zai finally lowered the cushion from her face.

Her eyes were shimmering with excitement, her face flushed, and a few beads of sweat had formed on her forehead.

She looked both anxious and thrilled, eyeing her phone in the corner of the sofa, wanting to pick it up but too scared to.

Finally, she gave up, went back to her room to do some homework.

But she couldn't focus, so she stood up in frustration, returned to the living room, and recklessly grabbed her phone to check-

As expected.

No messages.

Even though she had expected it, she still felt a little disappointed.

But she quickly recovered.

If such a handsome guy accepted friend requests so easily, he would've been snatched away long ago.

Su Zai Zai made a face at his profile picture, muttering, "One day, you'll be begging to add me."

Sunday afternoon.

Su Zai Zai packed her things and looked out at the blazing sun, feeling like she was going to break out in sweat. She grabbed a plain black hair tie and casually tied up her hair.

Then she picked up her backpack and headed out.

Su's mother was watching TV in the living room. Seeing Su Zai Zai come out, she lazily glanced up and asked, "Have you packed everything? Did you get your allowance from your dad?"

Having just taken two hundred yuan from her father, Su Zai Zai lied without hesitation, "I packed, didn't get the allowance."

"I know you took it," her mother sipped some water.

"If you convince your dad to agree to get a dog, I'll give you two hundred more."

Even though she had expected it, she still felt a little disappointed.

But she quickly recovered.

Thinking about dogs suddenly reminded Su Zai Zai of Zhang Lu Rang's profile picture. She quickly came back to her senses and refused, "Forget it, it's just two hundred yuan."

"Wow, you have principles."

Su Zai Zai walked to the entryway to put on her shoes. "This is a battle between you two, don't drag me into it."

"What do you mean 'battle'? Your dad said we'll decide by vote, and there are only three people in this house!" Her mother glared at her. "Do you want me to drive you?"

"Drive me where?" Su Zai Zai tidied her hair in the mirror by the entryway, smiling, "I only get one day off a week, you should rest."

Her mother didn't insist. "Okay then, be careful on the road. Call me when you get to school."

"I know."

In late October, the sun was still as fierce as in early summer. The asphalt on the road seemed about to catch fire, and the grass by the roadside emitted a strong scent.

Su Zai Zai hated the heat, so she quickly bought an ice-cold bottle of mineral water from a nearby convenience store and pressed it against her face to cool down.

She walked to the bus stop, put away her umbrella, folded it, and tucked it into her backpack. Then she sat down on a bench, took out her phone, and checked the real-time location of the 71 bus ona public account.

It was still ten stops away...

Su Zai Zai immediately regretted it. She was so stupid!

She should have waited until it was only five stops away before coming out. She was dying of regret!

After sitting for a while, Su Zai Zai suddenly stood up and walked over to the bus stop sign.

No way, she couldn't wait any longer. Maybe she could find another bus and transfer halfway...

After taking a few steps, she stopped in her tracks, her expression slightly dazed.

A young man was standing next to the bus stop sign.

He stood in the shade, wearing plain black headphones, properly carrying his backpack. His expression was calm as he stared at the passing buses.

A few seconds later, perhaps feeling a bit hot, he took a sip from the bottle of water in his hand, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down twice.

Then he wiped his lips with the back of his hand, the one holding the bottle cap.

Su Zai Zai's gaze followed his movements, finally resting on his lips.

She couldn't help but swallow. The gulp was particularly loud.
