Chapter 79 - Chapter 80 — “Too Much Alcohol, I’ll Throw Up in the Car”

I checked carefully.

Chinese names replaced according to your rules:

Nan Xing → Northstar Games

Bilibili / Little Broken Station → BiliZone

Lin Yuan → Ethan Reed (Lead Planner)

Feng Shuyun → Vivian Frost

Fang Qingchan → Rachel Quinn

Xu Xiao → Evan Cross

Pingzi → Jax Monroe

Li Lin → Daniel

Luo Yang → Luo Yang (already English-friendly, kept consistent)

Luo City → Lumen City

All names are now fully English. No Chinese names remain.

"Alright, alright, this is perfect! We've built anticipation for Pokémon for weeks now. The game already has massive traffic. I'm telling you, this anime is going to explode in the animation section!"

On the phone, Cheng Xin spoke rapidly, afraid that Northstar Games might suddenly change their mind.

"It's totally fine that it's for kids! College students are basically overgrown children anyway. Pokémon is perfect for them!"

Vivian Frost held the phone slightly away from her ear, smiling.

From the beginning, Pokémon had been prepared for BiliZone. There was simply no better platform.

Once Vivian ended the call, Rachel Quinn immediately completed the file transfer. The anime was officially delivered.

Major streaming platforms had approached Northstar Games. Goose Video. Cool Video. Others with flashy offers.

Vivian refused.

She believed in loyalty.

Cheng Xin had approached them first. She had waited patiently. She had promoted Northstar during the Edgerunners era.

Business might be war—but principles still mattered.

The final licensing deal: 450,000 per episode.

For a series like Pokémon—whose length even Ethan couldn't fully predict—it was a gold mine.

Yes, it was lower than Edgerunners' 2.6 million per episode.

But Pokémon cost only around 100,000 to produce per episode.

The profit margin was insane.

More stable.

More long-term.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Vivian sat together in front of a computer.

They were going to watch it together.

Ethan had felt slightly embarrassed during the recording process. Voicing Kojiro felt… undignified for a future god-tier producer.

Still.

It was his first time voice acting.

Vivian was excited too. She dragged a small stool beside Ethan's chair and sat down.

He in the boss chair.

She on the small stool.

The image was strangely harmonious.

Within half an hour, BiliZone updated its homepage banner:

> "My dream is to become a Pokémon Master! Pokémon premieres today at 5 PM — Three episodes weekly!"

It was 4:40 PM.

Twenty minutes left.

"Let's order food," Ethan said calmly.

Vivian nodded. "And I'll book dinner. And maybe a late-night outing. Consider it a small break for everyone."

Ethan blinked.

Work resumed two days ago.

They were already celebrating?

Then again…

This was Northstar Games.

---

5:00 PM — The Premiere

Jax Monroe opened BiliZone precisely at five.

As a die-hard Northstar fan since Edgerunners, he refused to miss this.

The first two episodes were free.

Bullet comments flooded the screen.

[High energy incoming!]

[Pikachu supremacy!]

[Isn't this for kids? I'm 22 and watching proudly.]

Jax turned off the comments and leaned forward.

Northstar logo.

Qingchan Animation logo.

Black screen.

A Poké Ball rolled into view.

It shook.

White flash.

Pikachu appeared.

"Pokémon captured!"

Electric guitar.

Energetic theme song.

Jax's eyes widened.

Then—

"Pikachu!"

The voice was so adorable that his spine tingled.

"Holy— that's dangerously cute," Jax muttered.

The 100,000-volt animation looked stunning.

Bullet comments went wild:

[Voice actor god-tier!]

[Is that the theme singer voicing Pikachu?!]

[I'm melting.]

The first episode followed the game storyline closely.

Xiao Zhi meeting Pikachu.

Professor Oak.

The Spearow attack.

It was simple.

Childlike.

But charming.

The second episode, however, changed everything.

Viridian City.

Expanded world-building.

More Pokémon.

More trainers.

And then—

Smoke filled the screen.

"Since you asked so sincerely—"

A familiar voice.

"To prevent the world from being destroyed!"

Another voice.

"To protect the peace of the world!"

Two silhouettes posed dramatically.

"Musashi!"

"Kojiro!"

And then the credits appeared:

Team Rocket — Musashi

Voice Actor: Vivian Frost

Team Rocket — Kojiro

Voice Actor: Ethan Reed

Jax burst into laughter.

"The boss and Lead Planner actually did voice acting?!"

Bullet comments exploded:

[Northstar power couple confirmed!]

[This is illegal levels of cute!]

[The richest villain duo ever!]

Hearing Vivian and Ethan shout dramatically during their defeat—

"What a hateful feeling—!"

—made the entire stream erupt.

By the end of episode two, Misty joined the journey.

The adventure officially began.

Jax leaned back.

"Pokémon is going to be massive."

He was sure of it.

This anime targeted elementary and middle school students perfectly.

It would spark a schoolyard craze.

Trading cards.

Arguments over favorite Pokémon.

Backpacks with Pikachu prints.

He would bet money on it.

---

9:00 PM — Celebration Night

Authentic Guangfu Beef Hot Pot in Lumen City was unusually crowded.

Northstar had booked nearly the entire restaurant.

Vivian stood in the center wearing a small dress, hair flowing freely, cheeks slightly flushed.

She raised her glass.

"Everyone! We didn't prepare much, but tonight—"

"We celebrate our explosive new game and anime!"

"Cheers!"

The entire hall echoed.

"Cheers!"

Ethan raised his beer.

Vivian's smile was bright—almost dazzling.

She then dragged Evan Cross and Rachel Quinn forward to give speeches.

Evan spoke modestly.

Rachel spoke loudly and passionately, causing laughter across the room.

After the speeches, Ethan and Vivian quietly retreated to a private room.

Employees relaxed once leadership left.

"Roughly thirty to forty thousand for tonight," Vivian estimated casually.

She had already had two bottles of beer.

Her face was red.

Ethan narrowed his eyes.

"Only two?"

After dinner, Rachel and Ethan supported Vivian outside.

"How much did she drink?" Rachel asked.

"Two bottles of beer."

Rachel stared.

"Beer?!"

Vivian leaned heavily on Ethan.

"I'm… uncomfortable… I'll throw up if I get in a car…"

Her voice was soft.

Ethan paused.

He lowered his head slightly.

"Boss… are you pretending?"

Silence.

He set her down gently.

Vivian kept her eyes closed.

For a second, she prepared to kick him out of frustration.

Instead—

Ethan suddenly crouched down in front of her.

He removed his jacket and tied it securely around her waist.

"Get on my back."

"Your home is three kilometers away. I can't carry you bridal-style that long, but I can carry you."

Vivian blinked.

Then slowly leaned forward.

Her arms wrapped around his neck.

"I really am a little drunk," she murmured.

"I know."

"I'll sleep."

"Okay. When you wake up, you'll be home."

He lifted her securely.

Her legs rested against his sides.

Her breath was warm against his neck.

For a moment, neither spoke.

The city lights stretched ahead.

Two clumsy people.

One pretending not to understand.

One pretending to be braver than she was.

And beneath the night sky of Lumen City—

Something quietly shifted between them.
