Chapter 145 - CHAPTER 144: The Boy at the Gates

Keifer's POV

The building looked like it didn't belong in the Philippines

It looked imported.

Polished glass. Clean lines. Security cameras blinking like silent watchers.

The Byte JC logo shimmered against the sun, proud and untouchable.

And we were standing outside it.

Felix was already arguing.

"I'm telling you we have business here!"

The guard didn't even blink. "Appointment?"

David crossed his arms. "We don't need one."

I stayed quiet.

Yuri leaned closer to me. "Keifer… do something."

Ci-N nudged my shoulder. "Yeah, future heir of Watson Group, use your magic."

I exhaled slowly.

"You guys need to stop arguing first."

They kept talking.

I raised one eyebrow.

They stopped.

Good.

I stepped forward toward the guard.

"Go in and tell your boss there's a guy called Keifer who wants to see her."

The first guard burst out laughing.

"Look at this guy. He thinks he's some god that Luna Byte will bow down to."

Felix stepped forward. I subtly lifted a hand. He stopped.

The second guard scratched his head. "Okay… you guys wait here. Let me go tell her."

He went inside.

The first guard kept mocking us. "You boys better go before ma'am makes you regret it."

I didn't answer him.

Inside, workers suddenly rushed past us.

"Today ma'am has been in a very bad mood."

"She might get angry if we're not ready for the presentation!"

They hurried in like birds escaping thunder.

The guard smirked. "You guys better leave."

Felix stepped closer. "If you don't keep quiet, you might lose your job."

The man laughed louder.

Then suddenly—

"Good. Madam Hannah is here."

We turned.

And there she was.

Composed. Sharp. Professional.

Hannah.

She walked toward us, heels precise against the marble.

"What are you guys doing here?"

"We came to see her," I said calmly.

The guard who had gone inside returned, sweating slightly. "Umm… this man… yes, Keifer… he said he wanted to see ma'am."

The other guard quickly said, "Don't worry, madam. I'll kick them out right now."

Hannah's expression didn't change.

"I think you should leave here."

The guard smirked. "Didn't you hear her? Leave."

Yuri tilted his head. "I think she's talking about you. Not us."

The guard slowly turned toward Hannah.

She was staring at him.

He swallowed. "But… why?"

"Because," she said calmly, "you don't know who you were just mocking. And you don't know their relationship with Luna Byte and Night Byte."

Silence.

"Leave before I tell ma'am."

The guard started begging.

Hannah didn't blink.

He left.

She turned to the other guard. "Keep up your good work."

Then she gestured to us. "Follow me."

We entered.

And wow.

The inside was colder, brighter, sleeker than the outside. Like stepping into the future.

Ci-N whispered, "This place smells expensive."

Felix nodded. "Even the air conditioning feels rich."

We reached the elevators.

Three of them.

Two had the Byte JC logo.

One looked plain.

The logo elevator opened.

We stepped inside.

The others split into the second logo elevator.

Hannah said to them, "Press 1 when you close it."

David nodded.

She joined mine.

Silence filled the ride upward.

The doors opened to the top floor.

People stared.

Girls froze mid-walk.

One whispered, "That's Mark Keifer Watson."

Another added, "And Yuri Hanamitcchi."

A guy muttered, "I wonder what they've done…"

"I hope they don't get punished."

"Have you ever seen ma'am with anyone except Night Byte?"

"Maybe he's her new workers or partners ."

I smirked slightly.

Hannah suddenly stopped walking.

"I see you all have free time."

Everyone froze.

"Right after ma'am finishes her meeting, show me your new presentation."

One guy panicked. "But that was due in four hours!"

"Well," Hannah replied calmly, "you have thirty minutes now."

Their faces dropped.

I looked at her. "One hour."

She looked at me.

"They can't finish in thirty minutes," Yuri added.

Hannah studied me for a second.

Then nodded. "Fine. One hour."

Relief spread across their faces like sunrise.

We continued walking.

Someone whispered behind us, "Keifer must be ma'am's boyfriend."

Another said, "Then he's our future boss."

I turned slightly and winked.

Let them talk.

Hannah stopped at a door.

"She's in a meeting. She'll meet you soon."

She led us into Jay's office.

The office was elegant but comfortable.

Not flashy. Just powerful.

Two executive chairs.

Couches.

A large screen.

I looked around.

"Which one is Jay's chair?"

Hannah pointed left.

I smiled and sat.

"Then the right one must be Hex's."

David raised a brow. "How do you know?"

"There are only two main chairs."

Yuri leaned over. "Also Hex's side has a mini fridge. Shelf full of chips. Gaming console."

Hannah blinked. "I have to go now."

Yuri immediately said, "You're leaving?"

Eman elbowed him. "Of course she works here."

We started teasing them.

Hannah left, slightly embarrassed.

I leaned back.

"You guys scared the rooster's wife away."

They burst out laughing.

Yuri looked at me. "You're sitting on the owner's chair."

I crossed one leg over the other. "No. This is my wife's company."

More laughter.

Then—

Noise outside.

We turned.

Guards were dragging a man out of the meeting room.

He was shouting.

Felix frowned. "What happened in there?"

A few moments later, Hex stepped out with Carlos.

Even in costume, he felt different.

Sharper.

Colder.

Like someone who had just walked through fire and didn't feel heat anymore.

They entered the elevator.

After a while, Miguel came out.

Then—

Jay.

She stepped out.

Her costume was clean. Elegant. Powerful.

But I could see it.

She was tired.

Everyone on the floor suddenly pretended to work.

I went back to sit properly.

The boys turned the TV down.

A few seconds later—

The door opened.

She entered.

Removed her mask.

She looked cute.

And exhausted.

Our eyes met.

And for the first time that day…

I couldnt stop smiling.
