Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 — Seriously

POV: Jayjay

The morning had been busy already, and I was finally in class, trying to focus on my first lessons of the day. Sir Alvin walked in, cheerful as ever, and the lesson started smoothly. I thought I could finally relax… until the principal walked in.

She was accompanied by a few students and another teacher. My eyes widened when she started explaining that she needed some of our chairs for another room, so Sir Alvin would have to rearrange us. Everyone gasped a little, completely shocked.

Sir Alvin immediately got to work. He pointed around the room and said, "Miss Mariano, stand up." I froze, my heart skipping a beat. Then he gestured across the room and stopped at where Ci-n was sitting.

"Sit next to Keifer," he said.

I blinked. My mind went blank for a moment. "Huh?" I whispered to myself, completely shocked.

Sir Alvin repeated firmly, "Sit next to Keifer."

I turned to glance at Keifer's back. He was smiling, giving me that cheeky little grin he always wore. I opened my mouth to protest, "I think there's a mix-up with the names…" I pointed at Ci-n and said, "Sir, that's Ci-n," then pointed at Keifer, "and that's Keifer."

Sir Alvin looked at me, calm as ever. "I know."

"Wait, what?" My brain was still trying to catch up.

He waved me off and said, "Miss Mariano, please sit."

I sighed and grabbed my bag. I moved to sit between Yuri and Keifer, still a little stunned. Sir Alvin finished arranging the rest of the chairs, the other students took their remaining spots, and the principal left.

"Is everyone okay with their sitting place?" Sir Alvin asked.

I slowly raised my hand. "Sir… why is everyone sitting where they chose, but you gave me a spot?"

He smiled faintly. "Because you didn't move when others did, so I thought you didn't have a preference."

I was left speechless.

Keifer leaned toward me and whispered, "Jay, just sit… at least now you can see my face more often."

I blinked, flustered. "You… you want to see your face?"

He smirked and said something flirty that made me roll my eyes, but I couldn't stop a small smile from creeping onto my face. I sat down, still blushing, and Sir Alvin continued with the lesson.

Time slowly passed, with notes, explanations, and a few quiet laughs with the people around me. Finally, it was break. I quickly left the classroom, feeling the weight of the first part of the day lift a little.

The rest of the day went like any normal school day—classes, lessons, lunch, chatting with a few classmates, and keeping an eye on Keifer from time to time.

By the time the bell rang to go home, I was exhausted, but in a good way. I waved goodbye to everyone as I left the school, thinking about the small surprises and the chaos of the morning… especially Keifer's smirks and the chair arrangements.
