The carriage drove over gravel again, sometimes also going over some larger stones. They were however still small enough to not disturb the people in the carriage.
Shiba was calculating something again, noting some numbers down on a different paper.
"What are you doing?" Feyra asked, being curious and looking over to him.
"Just calculating something for Mia. Sorry... My secretary. She needs to take care of everything now, so I still try to help her. In the two weeks we stayed in the Capital of the East, a letter reached me from her. She had sent me some of the papers with expenses and other noteworthy things.
"So, now I'll calculate some of that stuff and check if everything is right," he said, continuing to write numbers.
"Even while being here you have work to do..." Feyra said, a little unsure how she should feel. She wished she could've helped Shiba to take some load off his back.
"I like my work. It isn't a liability to me."
