Shikamaru age : 23
Shikamaru grew up as an orphan as his parents died when they were trying to protect Naruto's parents from the nine tails but they failed and they died with "Minato" and "Kushina". He grew up with help from the "Third hokage". He was a smart guy so he learned to live by himself and even started earning money by the age of 17. He became a Jonin by the age of 19. He is one of the strongest jonin among his friends.
His parents left him some money which is enough as he is also earning money himself and has some money saved up. With the money he saved up and he got as inheritance he wants to leave the village once he turns 24, he has a plot of land beside a small pond in a small village which is isolated from other villages. The village name is "Sura". He wants to build a house and live a peaceful life alone in the village. He has already told his decision to the hokage and his friends and they all supported him.
Shikamaru is 23 years old and he is single. Many of his friends were already in a relationship. Some like Naruto and Sasuke were married and have children. He too tried to get with any girl his age but it never worked as many women found him boring and he was lazy himself to get into a relationship. The one girl who he fell in love with was Temari and she too liked him, but their relationship turned sour once he found that she would not be allowed to marry him as she was a princess and he was a man who fell from grace as his family died and others took their place as the head of Nara family. Now he was just a Jonin from the family that's it. Due to this Temari decided not to marry him which broke his heart. This led to him taking the decision of living alone in a isolated village in a small house. His friends tried to support him by introducing him to other women but all that never worked and he remained single till now.
One day, Naruto invites him to his birthday to celebrate. Shikamaru was not interested , but as this was his childhood friend he decided to go.
He asked Naruto the venue which Naruto chose as a bar in the village. Shikamaru himself never drank but was into smoking. He told Naruto that he would be coming which made Naruto happy.
Soon, Naruto's birthday came and in evening all gathered in bar to celebrate Naruto's birthday. He was turning "24" this year.Then they started the cake-cutting and having drinks and just enjoying. Then, everyone started talking about their dreams. "Naruto" talked about becoming the Hokage. "Kiba" said the same , but he would never became one and all knew that. "Sasuke" remained silent. "Choji" just talked about his marriage to "Karui". "Shino" just said he wanted to enjoy his life. Shikamaru talked about his dream which made everyone a little sad but it was his life so they supported him.
All were celebrating Naruto's birthday and remembering their childhood. Naruto said he is thankful to Shikamaru's parents as it is due to their sacrifice he is alive. Naruto then says that he hopes that Shikamaru finds a woman and gets married soon. Shikamaru chuckles and says no promises on that.
Soon , it was getting late so they were ready to go home. Shikamaru too decide it was time to go home. As he was going home he thought about his dream as in "1 year" he would be leaving Konoha and will be living a peaceful life in the the isolated village out of Konoha. He then took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it with his lighter and started smoking.
He then thought about the village "Sura", it was a village with unknown origins, he tried to find its history but he found none of it in Konoha and to an extent he did not care. Presently the village had nothing mysterious about it. People just go there as it is mostly abandoned but few people live there who too, like Shikamaru prefer the peace and live there without disturbing anyone. The village is protected by Natural chakra and it is said most people can't live in "Sura" as it is Cold for most part of the year and there is nothing much worth there. So no one bothered to go there so all the villages left it alone. This is a perfect village for someone like him who would want no disturbance. By this time his cigarette was over so he threw it in a dustbin and went home.
He then went inside his outside and thought about taking a bathe as he was tired and a warm bath before sleep would be amazing.
Several minutes later,
He was in the bathtub and he was thinking "what to do for this year in Konoha?".
He thought that he should earn some money and spend it on essential things he would be taking to the village. He did not need much, but he should be prepared it was not like he is leaving Konoha forever, he would still be visiting the village just he would go back to Village " Sura". He was a little sad about leaving his friends behind yet, he made the final decision.
After bathing he got dressed and went to sleep.
Unknown to him many events are going to occur and he might became the 'centre of attraction' which he hates the most. He will meet new people some he will like and some he will come to hate.
He will have to go through adventure after adventure.
Let's see what the future holds for him.
