SERENA
"I'm sorry but you might lose your baby if you give out another pint of blood, Luna Serena" The doctor announced as he analysed the results through the monitor.
My heart beat fastly as I placed my hands subconsciously on my huge stomach feeling my pup kick. I'm supposed to give birth in two weeks time, Aaron promised to let me deliver safely before I donate blood for Talia again , but here he was bringing me to the hospital to donate blood. Barely two days after he made the promise.
"You're already running low on blood, you can't—"
"W.. what? There must be something we can do about this! Serena must give out her blood to Talia" Aaron cuts in before the doctor finishes his statement.
What was I expecting? For him to take pity to me? He's always hated my guts and loved my stepsister, Talia, all his life. He had no eyes for me or sort. I was just a stand in bride.
Five years ago when my sister was supposed to get married to Aaron, she found out that he was my fated mate and because she was scared that he'd never resist the mate bond, she refused to marry him and then let me take her place while she went abroad.
My wedding was as silent as a burial. Some people said I stole my sister's husband while some others called me a witch that I casted a spell so he'd be my mate. But I didn't do any of that. It was just fate, my cruel fate. To be mated to someone who only loved my sister.
For five good years, Aaron never touched me. Not until some months ago when he returned to our hotel room drunk and forcibly kissed me. I didn't resist him as I've always longed for his touch. We ended up in bed which resulted in this pregnancy.
I found out that he'd come back drunk because my sister posted a man on her Instagram story and he was jealous.
She returned three months ago claiming that she was sick and after some tests it showed that she had blood issues due to her wolf being poisoned from when she saved Aaron ten years ago.
It's funny how our story was similar. I was also a victim of the attack and I ended up saving a boy from the rogues but I can't really recall who it was. My memory has been faint after falling off the clifftop. But one thing I'll never forget was the bite from the rogue, it left his teeth marks on my neck till now which I only conceal with make-up.
Before I could say another word, Aaron's mobile phone rang and on the other line was my mother panicking.
"Alpha Aaron you need to come with the blood soon, Talia is having an attack" she wailed uncontrollably and Aaron panicked. I saw the usual coldness in his eyes as he turned to me.
"I know you're scared about the pup, but we can have another later. Talia needs this blood now and we can't risk it" he said.
"What? Aaron! I'm not giving out My blood to her anymore. It's risky! You heard the doctor" I yelled out loudly, standing up.
But Aaron's grip tightened on my arms as he pulled me back.
"Where the hell are you going? We're not done here!"
"Let go of me!" I yelled back in rage. "I'm not giving Talia any more of my blood. Do you need me to spell it out for you?" I retorted.
" You're being unreasonable, Serena. I'm going to give you one last chance to make a choice. Give Talia your wolf's blood or Sign these!" Aaron declared and he slammed the documents he'd been holding onto since against my chest.
"What are these?" I asked, my hands trembling as I took them out. "Divorce papers?" I asked. It seems like they've been pre-planned for this purpose.
Just like last week when Aaron asked me to donate blood to Talia, I vowed never to comply again and he threatened to divorce me if I did. I can't believe he'd actually divorce me.
"You want to divorce me?" I asked, laughing hysterically at my stupidity for thinking that Aaron wouldn't dare to divorce me because he needed My blood for his darling Natalia.
"Yes, Serena. I'll divorce you if you refuse to give her your blood. What do you think you are? Irreplaceable? We've been searching for another donor for Talia and we found one. He'd be here in a few days. All I ask for is that you give Talia your blood for the last time" Aaron declares.
"No.. I'm not doing it!" I say. "And I don't accept to the divorce" I turned trying to leave but the doors opened right before me and some guards troped inside.
"Serena, I'll advise that you do this the right way or I'll be forced to make you do it" he said.
"Aaron you're so heartless. This is your pup we're talking about." I cried as the guards grabbed in violently…
"You're the heartless one, Serena. You've failed to fulfil just one duty I gave you as my Luna." Aaron replies as he turns facing the doctor.
"Take her to the lab and draw the blood" he ordered. "A.. Alpha, are you sure about this?" The doctor asked.
"Do you also want to defy my orders?"
I watched the doctor shake in fear and concern for me. "Let go of me" I yelled as I was being dragged off my the guards towards the laboratory.
"Aaron, you'll regret this I promise"...
